Abstract

This study maps global research trends on digital transformation, innovation capability, and knowledge management within the context of startup competitive advantage using a bibliometric and science-mapping approach. Data were extracted from the Scopus database and analyzed using VOSviewer through network visualization, overlay mapping, density analysis, author collaboration mapping, and country collaboration networks. The findings reveal three dominant thematic clusters: digital transformation as an ecosystem-driven strategic capability, innovation capability as a core driver of entrepreneurial agility, and knowledge management as the foundation for organizational learning and adaptability. Temporal evolution analysis shows a shift from early digitalization research toward advanced topics such as platform ecosystems, sustainable digital entrepreneurship, and knowledge-intensive services. Overall, the study highlights that startup competitive advantage emerges from the integration of technological readiness, innovation-driven value creation, and dynamic knowledge flows. These findings provide a consolidated understanding of the field and identify promising directions for future research on digital competitiveness and entrepreneurial ecosystems.

Abstract

This study examines the linguistic and semiotic strategies employed by indie publishers on social media to construct branding identities within the digital literacy ecosystem. Using qualitative discourse analysis, digital linguistics, and multimodal semiotics, the study analyzes 15 social media posts across Instagram, TikTok, Twitter (X), Facebook, and official websites. The findings identify five recurring linguistic strategies: emotional micro-narratives, conversational positioning, multimodal linguistic framing, community-aligned hashtagging, and metaphorical semiotic branding. Collectively, these strategies position indie publishers as humanistic, approachable, and literacy-oriented actors despite limited marketing resources. This study contributes theoretical insight into how small cultural agents construct visibility, identity, and relational engagement through language in competitive digital spaces.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the role of competitive advantage in mediating the effect of business strategy planning on SME performance. The research sample of 139 SMEs using proportional cluster random sampling techniques were tested using AMOS structural equation modeling (SEM) analysis. The results showed that the business strategy planning implemented by SMEs was formal business strategy planning, where the application of increasingly formal business strategy planning was able to improve the performance of SMEs and be able to provide a competitive advantage for SMEs. SMEs need to carry out a gradual evaluation and submit their ideas to the members so that the performance of SMEs can be achieved in line with expectations. SMEs need to be more mature in planning business strategies that will be taken, sorting out the advantages of what is owned and not owned by competitors where this will provide its own value for SMEs. The suitability of the plan and strategy chosen can provide better performance than before.

Abstract

Abstract

The current study addresses the impact of entrepreneurial orientation, innovation capability, market orientation, and networking capability on business sustainability in small and medium enterprises (SMEs). The contribution of SMEs to economic development is important; however, sustainability in these entities can be threatened by resource scarcity and rapidly changing environments in markets. The current study adopts a quantitative approach that entails data collection using a structured questionnaire targeting owners and managers in SMEs. The collected data were analyzed through statistical methods to analyze the relationship among study variables. The results of this study indicate that entrepreneurial orientation, innovation capability, market orientation, and networking capability are positive and influential factors in improving business sustainability in SMEs. Market orientation and innovation capability have higher influences on sustainability in SMEs than other factors since customer-centric approaches and innovation have playing crucial roles in ensuring sustainability in business operations for these entities. This study is an important addition to existing theories since this research adopts an integrated approach within strategic capabilities for improved adaptability and sustainability of SMEs in competitive markets
