Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi dan kreativitas aransemen musik peserta didik SMA sederajat di Kota Pontianak dan sekitarnya. Latar belakang kegiatan ini berangkat dari fenomena maraknya festival musik antar pelajar di Pontianak yang menuntut peserta didik untuk menampilkan karya musik dengan aransemen yang orisinal dan menarik, namun materi pembelajaran aransemen musik di sekolah masih terbatas pada teori dasar dan waktu praktik yang singkat. Berdasarkan kondisi tersebut, tim pelaksana melaksanakan kegiatan pelatihan aransemen musik bagi peserta didik SMA sebagai upaya pemberdayaan keterampilan seni dan pengembangan kreativitas musikal. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan meliputi penyampaian materi teori dasar aransemen, demonstrasi teknik aransemen sederhana, serta praktik langsung pembuatan aransemen dengan bimbingan instruktur. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh 50 orang peserta dari beberapa SMA di Kota Pontianak dan sekitarnya. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman dan kemampuan mereka dalam mengolah elemen-elemen musik seperti melodi, harmoni, ritme, dan progresi akor menjadi karya aransemen sederhana. Selain menghasilkan karya musik, kegiatan ini juga berkontribusi terhadap peningkatan mutu pembelajaran seni budaya di sekolah serta memperkuat peran perguruan tinggi dalam pengembangan kreativitas generasi muda di bidang seni musik.

Abstract

There is a notable research gap regarding effective strategies for music practice learning among cultural arts teachers in junior high schools, particularly in Bengkayang. This study addresses the urgent need to enhance the quality of arts education by investigating innovative approaches in music practice instruction. Employing a qualitative research design, the population comprised all cultural arts teachers at junior high schools throughout Bengkayang Regency. Purposive sampling was used to select participants actively engaged in music practice teaching. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis, utilizing interview guides, observation sheets, and supporting documents as research instruments. The findings reveal that teachers face significant challenges, such as limited facilities and time constraints, yet demonstrate novelty in their adaptive strategies that leverage local wisdom—an aspect seldom explored in prior studies. It is explicitly recommended that schools and local authorities improve infrastructure, provide regular professional development, and formulate supportive policies to optimize music practice learning. These results are expected to inform both local and national policy development for contextual arts education.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to analyze the Advanced Basic Piano learning model with a Challenge-Based Learning (CBL) approach as a solution to problems in developing learning models and optimizing students' piano playing skills in the Performing Arts Education Study Program, FKIP, Tanjungpura University (Untan). Against the background of the need for understanding the impact of CBL learning models on learning outcomes, especially in piano practice, this study focuses on the initial overview of previous learning models, CBL implementation processes, and analysis of learning outcomes. Method: Using qualitative methods with case studies, data were collected through observation, unstructured interviews, and documentation. Data analysis involves data reduction, data presentation, and inference, with data validity checked through assignment values, UTS, UAS, and source triangulation. Result and Discussion: The results showed that the CBL learning model had a positive effect on piano learning outcomes, measured by 21 students achieving final grades in the good category. In conclusion, the CBL learning model can optimally improve students' piano learning outcomes, and recommendations are given to piano educators and tutors to adopt this model in lecture practice.
