Abstract

Awareness among Indonesian society regarding plastic use and its management remains alarmingly low. This highlights an urgent need to strengthen sustainability education and responsible environmental practices. The implementation of the Plastic Pollution Management Worksheet uses a practicum-based method to foster greater sustainability awareness by integrating critical reflection and problem-solving strategies in addressing plastic pollution. This hands-on approach also encourages pro-environmental behavioural changes among learners. This study seeks to evaluate the impact of the Plastic Pollution Management Worksheet in practicum on students' sustainability awareness before and after its use. A one-group pre-test and post-test design was adopted, involving 40 university students, with a self-efficacy questionnaire used to assess five key indicators of sustainability awareness. The findings indicate that the implementation of practicum with the Plastic Pollution Management Worksheet had a moderate impact on enhancing students' sustainability awareness, with the most notable improvements observed in cognitive awareness (understanding sustainability concepts) and social engagement. Although improvements were noted across all dimensions, the development of sustainable behavioural changes requires further time and reinforcement. In conclusion, the practicum with Plastic Pollution Management Worksheet demonstrates potential as an innovative pedagogical strategy in sustainability education, though its effectiveness could be maximised by integrating it with other complementary educational approaches.

Abstract

In the current era of globalization, foreign cultures can enter freely and influence students so that the value of nationalism in students fades, this is indicated by the behavior of students who deviate from the objectives of national education, especially when the teacher does not innovate the learning model used can cause students to be bored during learning. This study aims to determine the effect of the VCT learning model on the nationalism attitude of students and the difference in increasing the attitude of nationalism between classes using the VCT model and classes using conventional methods. This research uses a quasi-experimental method with a quantitative approach using a Non-equivalent control group design, the subjects of this research are students of grades VA and VB SDN Pantai Bahagia 01 in the 2022/2023 school year. The instruments used in this research are observation, test and questionnaire. The results of this study indicate that the effect of the VCT model on the nationalism attitude of students can be seen from the N-Gain test which states that the experimental class obtained the N-Gain value in the medium category, meaning that it experienced a moderate increase, while the control class obtained the N-Gain value in the low category, meaning that it did not experience an increase. The difference in improvement can be seen from the average value of the pretest and posttest of the experimental class which is greater than the control class supported by the mann whitney test which states that there is a difference in increasing the attitude of nationalism between the experimental class and the control class.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the rise of drug abuse in Indonesia, one of which is caused by a lack of understanding of adolescents about the dangers of drugs, therefore understanding the dangers of drugs should be done as early as possible starting from elementary school level and fostering elementary school students to become young people with character and towards the golden generation. Thus, the need for media that can help elementary school students in understanding the dangers of drugs and character generation. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the use of e-book “The Dangers of Drugs” and to determine the difference in the ability to understand the dangers of drugs and character generation by using e-book “The Dangers of Drugs”. The research method used is pre-experimental design with research design using one group pre - test-post test design. The population in this study is all students of SDN Tebet Timur 15 morning and SDN Manggarai Selatan 01. The sample was 28 students of Grade 5 SDN Tebet Timur 15 am and 28 students of Grade 5 SDN Manggarai Selatan 01. The results showed 1) the influence of the use of e-book “The Dangers of Drugs” in fostering students to become a younger generation of character based on the results of posttest data analysis and questionnaires and 2) there are differences in the ability to understand the dangers of drugs and character generation by using e-book “The Dangers of Drugs” based on the results of pretest and posttest data analysis.

Abstract

Cases of child sexual abuse often occur in Indonesia, so it’s important to educate children from an early age so that they can understand the forms of sexual acts and how to prevent them. In addition, the English language skills of elementary school students are also a concern because students still experience delays in understanding the material and vocabulary. This problem can be solved by integrating sex education and English learning through PowerPoint-based pop up book media in English with sex education content, named WiseBook: Wisdom in Sexual Education E-Book. This research aims to obtain an overview of the process, feasibility test data and application test data on WiseBook media development. The research method employed is D&D with the results of the applied research based on the results of the material expert test which obtained a score of 65 out of 75 resulting in a percentage of 86% in the “very good” category and the media expert test obtained a score of 56 out of 75 resulting in a percentage of 74.6% in the “good” category. Based on the results of implementation and interviews with teachers, it shows that the use of WiseBook media can be applied to low-grade elementary school students because students become active and interactive during learning. The application of this learning media can make it easier for students to remember and understand the material presented, especially in learning English which is often considered difficult. Kasus kekerasan seksual pada anak sering terjadi di Indonesia, sehingga penting untuk memberikan edukasi pada anak sejak usia dini agar mereka dapat memahami bentuk tindakan seksual dan cara mencegahnya. Selain itu, kemampuan berbahasa Inggris siswa sekolah dasar juga menjadi perhatian karena siswa masih mengalami keterlambatan dalam memahami materi dan kosakata. Permasalahan ini dapat diatasi dengan mengintegrasikan sex education dan pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris melalui media pop up book berbasis PowerPoint berbahasa Inggris bermuatan sex education, yang diberi nama WiseBook: Wisdom in Sexual Education E-Book. Riset ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh gambaran proses, data hasil uji kelayakan dan data hasil uji penerapan pada pengembangan media WiseBook. Metode riset yang digunakan yaitu D&D dengan hasil riset yang diterapkan berdasarkan hasil uji ahli materi yang memperoleh skor 65 dari 75 menghasilkan persentase 86% dengan kategori “sangat baik” dan uji ahli media memperoleh skor 56 dari 75 menghasilkan persentase 74,6% dengan kategori “baik”. Berdasarkan hasil implementasi dan wawancara pada guru, menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media WiseBook dapat diterapkan kepada siswa sekolah dasar kelas rendah karena siswa menjadi aktif dan interaktif selama pembelajaran berlangsung. Dengan diterapkannya media pembelajaran ini dapat mempermudah siswa untuk mengingat dan memahami materi yang disampaikan, terutama dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris yang seringkali dianggap sulit.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the implementation of a learning model that is still teacher-centered and the low creativity of fourth grade students of SD Negeri Pantai Hurip 01. The objectives of this study are 1) To describe the implementation of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning model through the P5 Market Day activity. 2) To describe students' responses to the P5 Market Day activity. 3) To describe the supporting and inhibiting factors in the implementation of the Project Based Learning model. This study applies a qualitative approach with a qualitative descriptive analysis research type. Data collection techniques applied in this study are interviews, questionnaires, and document studies. The data analysis technique used is Miles and Huberman's qualitative data analysis which includes data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions or verification. The results of this study, namely 1) The application of the PjBL learning model has been applied with a good category according to the PjBL steps, 2) The response given by students to the application of the PjBL learning model through Market Day activities is very positive. 3) Supporting and inhibiting factors that are seen in increasing the creativity of grade IV students.

Abstract

Problems in class II elementary school students show students' low knowledge of PPKn learning, symbol material and the practice of Pancasila as well as learning models that are not well developed by teachers in class II, which has an impact on students' cognitive learning outcomes. This research aims to measure the influence and differences in the application of the Scramble type cooperative learning model on the cognitive learning outcomes of class II elementary school students in PPKn learning. The research method used is a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test and post-test with non-equivalent control-group design involving experimental and control classes with a quantitative approach. Based on the research results, the scramble type cooperative learning model shows a significant influence on the cognitive learning outcomes of second grade elementary school students in PPKn learning with a significance value of <0.001 (smaller α= 0.05). The results of further research show that the difference in cognitive learning outcomes of students who use the scramble cooperative learning model is greater compared to students who use the conventional learning model, this can be seen from the results of the independent sample t-test with a significant value of 0.004 < 0.05.

Abstract

Kemampuan menulis ide kreatif merupakan keterampilan yang penting dan mendesak bagi mahasiswa calon guru dalam menghadapi tantangan akademik dan profesional di dunia pendidikan. Namun, pelatihan dalam bidang ini masih kurang mendapatkan perhatian, karena perkuliahan umumnya lebih berfokus pada teknik penulisan formal. Menanggapi kebutuhan tersebut, kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dalam lingkungan akademik ini dilaksanakan melalui program pelatihan berbasis Guided Research-Based Learning (GRBL) yang dirancang untuk mengembangkan keterampilan menulis kreatif mahasiswa calon guru. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan dalam bentuk workshop yang diikuti oleh 50 mahasiswa Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. Untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas program, dilakukan pengukuran melalui desain pre-eksperimental dengan pendekatan One Group Posttest Only. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa program GRBL secara signifikan mampu meningkatkan pemahaman mahasiswa terhadap penulisan ide kreatif (N-Gain = 0,83), kepercayaan diri dalam menulis (N-Gain = 0,73), serta kemampuan mengeksplorasi ide secara kreatif (N-Gain = 0,87). Selain itu, kegiatan ini juga berdampak positif terhadap motivasi dan kapasitas mahasiswa dalam menghasilkan ide-ide orisinal yang relevan dengan konteks pendidikan. Dengan demikian, model GRBL terbukti efektif sebagai alternatif strategis dalam membekali mahasiswa dengan keterampilan menulis kreatif yang aplikatif di dunia pendidikan, serta mendukung penguatan kapasitas akademik komunitas kampus di era pendidikan abad ke-21.
