Abstract

Renewable energy is energy that comes from renewable sources including geothermal, wind, bioenergy, sunlight, water flow and waterfalls as well as the movement and temperature differences of the ocean layers. One of the renewable energies that must continue to be developed is biomass energy derived from organic materials. The results of biomass conversion can be in the form of biogas, bioethanol, biodiesel, charcoal and so on. One of the alternative energies that can replace fossil energy sources is bioethanol. Raw materials that can be used as bioethanol are empty oil palm bunches and cassava. This study aims to determine whether the production of bioethanol from empty oil palm bunches and cassava produced is in accordance with Bioethanol Quality (SNI 7390-2012). This study consists of 5 processes, namely: preparation of raw materials, pretreatment of empty oil palm bunches, hydrolysis, fermentation, distillation. The final analysis results of bioethanol production with a density of 0.8896-0.911 gr/ml, brix content of 3-4%, pH level of 3-4, bioethanol yield of 15% - 30%. The optimum bioethanol yield is at 100% cassava variable with density data of 0.8896 gr/ml, brix content of 4%, pH level of 4, and yield of 30%. The results of the bioethanol quality test are not in accordance with the SNI 7390-2012 Standard.

Abstract

CPO and its main product, namely RBD Palm Olein, are commodities that have strategic value to be developed by processing them into derivative products to increase selling value.One product that is widely used and needed by the market today that can be processed from palm oil is Mono-Diacylglycerol (MDAG) emulsifier.This study aims to determine the process of making Mono- Diacylglycerol (MDAG) by glycerolysis reaction using a lipase enzyme catalyst and to determine the best enzyme catalyst concentration.based on the characteristics and quality test of the resulting MDAG products. The stages carried out in this study began with the characterization of raw materials, the synthesis of Mono-Diacylglycerol (MDAG), product purification from catalysts, adsorbents and solvents, and tested the characteristics and quality of the products produced. In this study, the best enzyme catalyst concentration was found in the use of 6% catalyst with MDAG acquisition of 59.8%, ALB content of 0.2%, pH value at number 6, density of 0.95 gr/cm3, surface tension of 18 .65dynes/cm. And the results of the functional group test using FTIR on the resulting MDAG show thatthe functional groups contained in MDAG, namely 3R-COOR'-2OH and 3R-2COOR'-2OH were read on infrared absorption from FTIR at a wavelength of 721.38 cm-1 – 3392.79 cm-1.

Abstract

Metil Ester Sulfonat (MES) merupakan surfaktan atau bahan aktif permukaan yang berfungsi untuk menurunkan tegangan permukaan suatu cairan. MES adalah surfaktan anionik yang dapat diproduksi dari minyak nabati dan banyak diperlukan di industri, khususnya industri deterjen. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh kondisi optimum proses serta mengetahui karakteristik surfaktan MES yang dihasilkan dari sulfonasi metil ester minyak jelantah dengan agen NaHSO3. Pembuatan metil ester dilakukan dengan dua tahap reaksi esterifikasi dan transesterifikasi menggunakan metanol sebagai sumber alkohol dengan H2SO4 sebagai katalis asam dan NaOH sebagai katalis basa. Sulfonasi diselenggarakan pada temperatur 650C, rasio metil ester:NaHSO3 1:1,2; 1:1,3; 1:1,4; 1:1,5 dan 1:1,6 dengan waktu reaksi 4,5 jam. Hasil terbaik diperoleh dari perlakuan rasio mol metil ester dengan NaHSO3 1:1,6 dengan karakteristik MES yang dihasilkan memiliki bilangan asam 3,61 mgKOH/gr, densitas 0,9159 gr/ml dan absorbansi sulfonat 1,894 nm

Abstract

Historically, lubricants have relied on petroleum derivatives, but depleting resources necessitate alternatives. Vegetable oils are unstable for use due to oxidation but can be improved via chemical modification. This study examines bio-lubricant production from palm kernel oil, focusing on hydroxylation reaction time and compliance with SNI 06.7069:2012 standards. The production of bio lubricants in this study comprised three distinct stages: hydrolysis, epoxidation, and hydroxylation. Hydrolysis involves the processing of palm kernel oil to yield fatty acids and glycerol. Subsequently, the fatty acids produced during the hydrolysis reaction were epoxidized to yield the epoxy compounds. Subsequently, the epoxy compound is subjected to hydroxylation, resulting in the formation of a polyol compound that serves as the fundamental building block for the bio lubricants. Optimal bio lubricants outcomes were achieved with a hydroxylation reaction time of 240 min, resulting in a bio lubricants yield of 92.67, a kinematic viscosity value of 48.54 Cst at 313.15°K/40°C, a kinematic viscosity value of 10.89 Cst at 373.15°K/100°C, a viscosity index of 224, and a corrosion rate of 0.1496 mpy. The quality of the bio lubricants produced in this study was in accordance with the SNI 06.7069:2012 standard.

Abstract

Surfactant is a surface active agent that reduces the surface tension of a medium, because it has the ability to combine parts between different phases such as air and water or phases that have different polarity such as oil and water. One of the vegetable oils that has great potential to be used as raw material for the manufacture of Methyl Ester Sulfonate (MES) is CPO. This Final Project aims to determine the manufacture of MES from CPO with Na2S2O5 as a sulfonation agent and understand the effect of Al2O3 (aluminum oxide) catalyst concentration on the characteristics of MES produced. The preparation of methyl esters was carried out by two-stage esterification and transesterification reactions using methanol as the alcohol source with H2SO4 as the acid catalyst and NaOH as the base catalyst. Sulfonation was carried out at temperature, ratio of methyl ester to Na2S2O5 1:1, Al2O3 catalyst concentration of 0.5%, 0.75%, 1%, 1.25%, and 1.5% and reaction time of 5 hours. The best results were obtained from the treatment of 0.75% Al2O3 catalyst concentration with the quality of MES produced having a yield of 88.27%, pH 7.51, acid number 4.48 mgKOH/g, density 887 kg/m3 and sulfonate absorbance value 0.155.

Abstract

The advancement of science and technology has led to various innovations, one of which is the production of synthetic chemicals widely used by industries and communities. Synthetic chemicals have a longer durability and more stable properties compared to natural chemicals; however, excessive use can negatively impact health. Society, especially housewives, needs to have adequate knowledge to use synthetic chemicals wisely, particularly in food products. In RT 09 – RW 08, Kelurahan Bangkinang, Kabupaten Kampar, the Community Service Team (PkM) from the Palm Processing Engineering Study Program, Politeknik Kampar, conducted a counseling and interactive discussion activity attended by 17 women members of the PKK Team. The method combined material delivery and discussion to enhance understanding of the effects of synthetic chemicals and their differences from organic chemicals. Evaluation results from questionnaires showed an increase in participants’ knowledge and awareness, as well as high enthusiasm to continue similar activities sustainably. This activity contributes to strengthening the role of mothers in creating healthy families through the safe and wise use of chemicals.

Abstract

The Smallholder Oil Palm Replanting Program (PSR) is a key initiative to improve the productivity of Indonesia’s smallholder plantations. However, the replanting process increases the risk of pest attacks, particularly from rhinoceros beetles (Oryctes rhinoceros), which can damage the shoot apex, inhibit plant growth, and even cause the death of young oil palm trees. This community service activity was carried out in Bandur Picak Village, Koto Kampar Hulu Subdistrict, with the aim of educating and training farmers on Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies to control rhinoceros beetles. The methods included educational sessions, technical training, and field demonstrations on the use of pheromone traps, the application of the entomopathogenic fungus Metarhizium anisopliae, and the management of organic waste. The results showed that 85% of participants improved their understanding of pest biology and control techniques and expressed readiness to implement IPM practices in their fields. This activity effectively enhanced farmers’ capacity in environmentally friendly pest control and supported the success of oil palm replanting. Strengthening local capacities through participatory approaches is essential to achieving sustainable plantation management in rural areas.

Abstract

Oil palm fronds and empty fruit bunches (EFB) are the main by-products of oil palm plantations. Typically, these residues are used for organic fertilizer, mat production, or as a growing medium for plants and fungi. However, oil palm fronds and EFB have high cellulose content, making them promising raw materials for pulp and paper production. This study aimed to investigate the pulp and papermaking process using oil palm fronds and EFB as raw materials. A soda pulping process was applied, followed by bleaching using various concentrations of hydrogen peroxide, namely 8%, 10%, 12%, 14%, and 16%. The results showed that optimal pulp and paper quality was achieved using 16% hydrogen peroxide, which produced pulp with a brighter and whiter appearance. The resulting paper showed a thickness of 0.62 mm, a grammage of 56.58 g/m², and a density of 35.07 kg/m³.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh iklan digital terhadap kinerja penjualan Toko Mahkota Sawit di Lazada, salah satu platform e-commerce terbesar di Indonesia. Dalam era digitalisasi yang pesat, iklan online menjadi salah satu instrumen penting untuk menarik perhatian konsumen dan meningkatkan visibilitas produk. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan survei yang disebarkan kepada 98 responden yang pernah melakukan pembelian di Toko Mahkota Sawit melalui Lazada. Data dianalisis menggunakan regresi linier sederhana untuk mengukur hubungan antara iklan digital dan peningkatan penjualan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa iklan digital berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap peningkatan penjualan. Analisisregresi menunjukkan bahwa iklan berkontribusi dalam meningkatkan kesadaran pelanggan, menumbuhkan minat beli, serta mendorong peningkatan volume transaksi. Hasil ini mendukung model AIDA serta penelitian sebelumnya mengenai efektivitas strategi pemasaran digital. Implikasi penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya optimalisasi iklan digital bagi penjual online agar mampu meningkatkan daya saing di pasar e-commerce yang sangat kompetitif. ABSTRACT This study aims to examine the effect of digital advertising on the sales performance of Mahkota Sawit Store on Lazada, one of the largest e-commerce platforms in Indonesia. In the era of rapid digitalization, online advertising has become an essential tool to attract consumer attention and increase product visibility. A quantitative research method was employed using a survey distributed to 98 respondents who had purchased products from Mahkota Sawit Store through Lazada. Data were analyzed using simple linear regression to measure the relationship between digital advertising and sales growth. The findings indicate that digital advertising has a significantand positive effect on increasing sales. The regression results show that advertising contributes to improving customer awareness, stimulating purchase interest, and driving higher transaction volumes. These results support the AIDA model and prior studies on the effectiveness of digital marketing strategies. The implications of this study highlight the importance for online sellers to optimize digital advertising in order to enhance competitiveness in highly saturated e-commerce markets.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh PlayStation sebagai fasilitas hiburan terhadap kepuasan pelanggan di XYZ Coffee Shop. Coffee shop saat ini tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai tempat menikmati minuman, tetapi juga sebagai ruang sosial yang dituntut memberikan nilai tambah bagi pelanggan. Salah satu strategi yang diterapkan adalah penyediaan fasilitas permainan PlayStation untuk meningkatkan pengalaman pelanggan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif-verifikatif. Data diperoleh melalui penyebaran kuesioner kepada 83 responden yang ditentukan dengan rumus Slovin dari populasi sebanyak 500 pelanggan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa PlayStation berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kepuasan pelanggan. Nilai koefisien determinasi (R²) juga memperlihatkan bahwa keberadaan PlayStation memberikan kontribusi cukup besar terhadap kepuasan pelanggan, meskipun faktor lain seperti kualitas pelayanan, harga, dan suasana kafe juga berperan penting. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa penyediaan fasilitas hiburan interaktif seperti PlayStation merupakan strategi efektif untuk meningkatkan kepuasan dan loyalitas pelanggan di coffee shop. ABSTRACT This study aims to analyze the influence of PlayStation as an entertainment facility on customer satisfaction at XYZ Coffee Shop. Coffee shops today are not only places to enjoy beverages, but also social spaces that are expected to provide added value for customers. One of the strategies applied is the provision of PlayStation games to enhance the customer experience. This research employs a quantitative approach with a descriptive-verificative method. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 83 respondents, determined using the Slovin formula from a population of 500 customers. The results show that PlayStation has a positive and significant effect on customer satisfaction. The coefficient of determination (R²) also indicates that PlayStation contributes considerably to customer satisfaction, although other factors such as service quality, price, and café atmosphere also play an important role. This study concludes that providing interactive entertainment facilities such as PlayStation is an effective strategy to improve customer satisfaction and loyalty in coffee shops.
