Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of price on purchasing decisions of cattle at Tani LubisFarm. The research employed a quantitative method with a descriptive and verificative approach.Primary data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 98 respondents who arecustomers of Tani Lubis. The instrument testing showed that the questionnaire was valid andreliable with a Cronbach’s Alpha value of 0.872. Data were analyzed using simple linearregression. The results revealed that price has a positive and significant effect on purchasingdecisions. The coefficient of determination (R²) was 46.2%, indicating that purchasing decisionsare explained by the price factor, while the remaining 53.8% is influenced by other factors outsidethis study. The significance test showed a t-value of 8.523, which is greater than the t-table valueof 1.984, with a significance level of 0.000 < 0.05. Thus, price is proven to be one of the dominantfactors influencing cattle purchasing decisions at Tani Lubis Farm. This research is expected toserve as a consideration for farm management in formulating more competitive pricing strategiesto increase sales and customer satisfaction.

Abstract

Biodiesel is an alternative diesel fuel made from renewable materials such as vegetable and animal sources. Used cooking oil is waste cooking oil that is often found in households, very easy to obtain and always available all the time. Used cooking oil can be used as raw material for making biodiesel because it contains triglycerides through a transesterification process with the addition of a base catalyst, one of which is the ash of empty palm fruit bunches. This research aims to determine the effect of adding ash from empty palm fruit bunches on making biodiesel from used cooking oil. The method used in this research is transesterification with the addition of a catalyst of empty palm fruit bunch ash varied at concentrations of 1%, 2%, 3%, 4%, 5% with a mole ratio of 1: 6 (oil: methanol). The tests on the biodiesel produced consist of acid number, viscosity and density.

Abstract

General Background: Information systems play an essential role in processing data into useful information for decision-making and improving work efficiency. In the business sector, these systems are not only used for recording but also serve as strategic tools for managing resources, designing distribution, and strengthening coordination among business actors. Knowledge Gap: However, in the fisheries sector, particularly in catfish farming in Kampar Regency, there are still challenges such as limited price information, dependence on middlemen, and inefficient distribution. These issues reduce farmers’ profits and limit consumer access to fresh products at reasonable prices. Aims: The development of a web-based Supply Chain Management (SCM) information system aims to facilitate distribution processes, support online transactions, and provide accurate data regarding production, pricing, and market demand. Result:Based on the results of the User Acceptance Test (UAT) conducted with 20 respondents and 10 evaluation questions, user acceptance of the system was very positive, with average scores ranging between 80–95 percent and an overall satisfaction rate above 85 percent. Novelty: This research integrates SCM principles into a web-based system specifically designed for rural-scale catfish supply chains, enabling direct interaction among farmers, BUMDes, and consumers in a single digital platform. Implication: The developed system is feasible to implement and has the potential to support BUMDes Koto Masjid in expanding market access, improving farmer welfare, and strengthening national food security. Highlights: Developed a web-based SCM system integrating farmers, BUMDes, and consumers in the catfish supply chain. Achieved over 85% user satisfaction based on UAT results from 20 respondents. Improved distribution efficiency, market access, and strengthened local food security. Keywords: Information System, Supply Chain Management, Catfish Farming

Abstract

This Community Service Program aims to enhance the capacity of patin fish business actors in District 13 Koto Kampar through the adoption of digital technology in production recording, supply chain management, and market information utilization. The main problems faced by the partners include inaccurate manual recording, inefficiencies in distribution, and limited access to data and market opportunities. To address these challenges, the program was carried out through a series of training sessions, technical assistance, demonstrations of digital application usage, and evaluations conducted before and after the activities. The implementation methods focused on improving participants’ skills in adopting digital recording systems, understanding modern supply chain–based distribution flows, and utilizing market information to increase competitiveness. The evaluation results indicate a significant increase in competencies across all measured aspects. The average pre-test and post-test scores improved in Digital Production Recording (from 58 to 84), Supply Chain Management (from 55 to 82), and Market Information Utilization (from 52 to 80). This improvement reflects the success of the program in strengthening the participants’ digital capacities and enhancing the operational efficiency of their businesses. Overall, the program provides positive impacts on the digitalization of local fisheries enterprises while building a stronger foundation for the development of sustainable marketing and distribution strategies.

Abstract

This Community Service (PkM) activity aimed to enhance the knowledge of 10th-grade students at SMAN 1 Kuok, Kampar Regency, regarding the sustainable palm oil industry, palm oil processing, and the health benefits of its derivative products, especially red palm oil. The background of the activity was the students' lack of knowledge about palm oil and its derivatives, despite living in a palm oil plantation hub. The implementation methods included a location survey and needs analysis, knowledge and technology transfer, active partner participation, interactive counseling, and evaluation through pre-test and post-test. The results showed high enthusiasm from the participants. Questionnaire-based evaluation revealed that the activity was considered highly beneficial and successfully improved students' understanding of palm oil, its derivative products, and their health benefits. It was concluded that this PkM activity was effective in increasing students' knowledge and is expected to encourage their role as agents of change in supporting the sustainable palm oil industry in their region.
