Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk menguatkan kompetensi para guru bahasa Jerman di SMA se-kota Malang tentang resepsi karya sastra dan proses pembelajaran antarbudaya. Teks-teks fiktif sastra memberikan akses khusus kepada pebelajar terhadap kebudayaan asing dan sebagai penanggungjawab dari beberapa objek dengan unsur pembelajaran antarbudaya di dalamnya. Proses pembelajaran antarbudaya mencakup proses-proses Fremdwahrnehmung/pengenalan hal-hal asing, Kulturvergleich/perbandingan budaya, dan Fremdverstehen durch Perspektivenübernahme/penerimaan perspektif. Para peserta guru menggambarkan secara detail, tanpa menafsirkan. Selanjutnya dilakukan identifikasi dan diferensiasi, serta komparasi. Pada proses terakhir para peserta menyatukan dua keterampilan dalam konteks pemahaman budaya asing yang diperlukan untuk menyikapi dua budaya yang berbeda satu sama lain. Hasil dari pelatihan ini adalah peserta dapat menggambarkan situasi di dalam teks, menyinambungkan beberapa hal dan menilainya disertai alasan, mengklasifikasikan hal-hal yang dapat diperbandingkan dari keadaan di dalam teks dengan konteks budaya di negeri sendiri, dan mampu untuk menggali budaya asing dan dapat berpartisipasi di dalamnya, serta melakukan interpretasi dari fenomena budaya asing dari ”luar” yang membutuhkan kemampuan refleksi kritis.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe (1) the use of e-learning UM Student in State Univesitu of Malang as a learning media, (2) provision of material by lecturers in the classroom, and (3) the problems in the use of e-learning., Evaluative quantitative research approach used in this study. The quantitative research methods focuses on more things that can be measured by numbers or quantifiable. The evaluative research focused on the final recommendations of evaluation. It confirms that an object can be maintained, upgraded, improved, or even dismissed with the data. The population in this study is a student of German Literature, Faculty of Letters State University of Malang (UM) and restricted to students in class of 2013, 2014 and 2015. The research instrument used in this study using a questionnaire. The results showed that (1) the use of e-learning has been empowered with quite well by the students of German Literature, Faculty of Letters State University of Malang (UM), although the frequency of media use is still not maximized. The intensity of the use of e-learning is still low (the answer "seldom" by students) is due to lack of motivated students in utilizing of e-learning media. The use of e-learning UM obtained only teaching materials. The use of e-learning was less in terms of frequency of use, either to find information and get a learning material. (2) Providing material by the lecturers  are already quite varied. It can be seen by (a) the provision of handouts / modules / video learning through e-learning media, (b)  more (often) assignment / exercise, (c) the majority of references is available, and (d) always opens the opportunity to ask questions and discuss. (3) The problems caused by (a) the display is too formal; (B) the use of navigation is not clear; (C) maintenance disorder that happens sometimes; and (d) ignorance of the students on the use of certain features.Keywords: E-learning in State University of Malang (UM) , learning resources, student

Abstract

Limbah minyak jelantah menjadi bahan baku yang tumbuh dengan pesat. Sejumlah 1186 rumah tangga di desa Sumbergondo kota Batu menggunakan rata-rata 1lt minyak per minggu di setiap rumah, dan membuang limbah di tempat sampah, saluran air, got, dan masuk ke tanah. Minyak sisa setiap hari diakumulasikan sampai lebih dari 166 lt. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat adalah memperkenalkan pengetahuan yang baru mengenai lilin yang terbuat dari limbah minyak jelantah, dan bagaimana produk itu dapat dikelola guna menambah penghasilan rumah tangga. Metode yang digunakan berupa sosialisasi dan pelatihan yang mencakup tahapan observasi dan survey, koordinasi pra-pelaksanaan kegiatan, persiapan, pelaksanaan kegiatan, dan uji coba penjualan, serta evaluasi kegiatan. Peserta kegiatan adalah ibu-ibu yang tergabung dalam organisasi PKK, karang taruna dan perangkat desa Sumbergondo kota Batu yang berminat berwirausaha. Kegiatan rintisan ini diikuti oleh 17 orang dengan melibatkan 5 instruktur dan pendamping. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah peserta pelatihan telah mampu memproduksi lilin lampu konvensional dan lilin hias yang berbahan baku dari limbah minyak jelantah rumahan. Setiap peserta pelatihan menghasilkan 2-3 buah lilin hias dalam kemasan gelas kaca. Antusiasme peserta sangat tinggi, selain karena selama ini belum pernah terpikirkan termanfaatkannya limbah minyak goreng tersebut, juga produk lilin hasil produksinya dapat dipasarkan guna memperoleh tambahan penghasilan. Rekomendasi dari kegiatan ini adalah perlunya teknologi tepat guna untuk mendukung proses produksi, variasi bentuk produk, serta pengemasan yang masih perlu disiapkan dengan baik.

Abstract

This research is aimed at describing the various stereotypes, prejudices, and ethnocentrism which appeared in the character in the novel “Generation Golf”. The qualitative approach was applied in this research. Note reading technique was a technique used for data collection. The data analysis method was domain analysis. The result of the research indicates that there are kinds of stereotypes, prejudice and ethnocentric attitudes. Stereotypes appeared are learding to negative and positive kinds; kinds of prejudice appeared in the form of negative feelings, beliefs and actions; and ethnocentric attitudes are raised by attributing German’s culture with other nations

Abstract

This study was conducted to explore and describe the clarity, the naturalness, the emotional expressions and the styles used in the translation of Hansel and Gretel fairytale. The data were collected through document analysis and analysed by using three main steps, namely data reduction, data display, and data conclusion and verification. The results showed that (1) there are many forms which are not clear and not easy to understand; (2) there are many forms which are correct grammatically but not natural; (3) emotion is expressed through words, phrases and sentences which describe anger, fear, sadness, joy and calmness; and (4) there are five styles used by the translator: simile, hyperbol, assonace, repetition and personification.  Permalink/DOI: dx.doi.org/10.17977/um015v45i12017p064

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian bertujuan mendeskripsikan implementasi penilaian autentik, kendala yang ditemukan dalam aktivitas pembelajaran, serta upaya yang dilakukan untuk mengatasi kesulitan pada keterampilan menulis bahasa Mandarin. Metode penelitian menggunakan deskriptif kualitatif. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan teknik wawancara, pengamatan, dan analisis dokumen. Sumber data penelitian yaitu dua orang guru bahasa Mandarin. Analisis data dilakukan dengan tahapan pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penilaian autentik pada keterampilan menulis bahasa Mandarin siswa SMA Negeri 1 Grogol, Kabupaten Kediri, Jawa Timur berfokus pada tiga hal: penerapan penilaian autentik oleh guru secara umum telah diterapkan dalam bentuk teknik penilaian sikap, pengetahuan, dan keterampilan; kendala yang dihadapi guru berasal dari guru dan siswa, keterbatasan waktu, serta kriteria penilaian yang cukup kompleks; upaya yang dilakukan mengatasai kendala yaitu menambah referensi terkait dan mengindentifikasi standar untuk mengukur kompetensi yang diharapkan dengan pemberian fokus tugas kontekstual serta penyiapan lebih awal dan matang pada perangkat pembelajaran. AbstractThe research aimed to describe the implementation of authentic assessment, the obstacles found in learning activities, and the efforts made to overcome difficulties in writing Chinese language skills. The research method was descriptive qualitative. Data were collected using interview, observation, and document analysis techniques. The research data sources were two Mandarin teachers. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results showed that authentic assessment of the writing skills of Chinese students at SMA Negeri 1 Grogol, Kediri Regency, East Java focused on three things: the application of authentic assessment by teachers, in general, has been applied in the form of attitude, knowledge, and skills assessment techniques; the obstacles faced by teachers come from teachers and students, time constraints, and quite complex assessment criteria; efforts made to overcome the obstacles, namely adding related references and identifying standards to measure the expected competencies by providing a focus on contextual tasks as well as early and mature preparation of learning tools.

Abstract

This study examines the process of improving the quality of pottery products from Pagelaran village in Malang mainly by improving the traditional combustion process. The traditional pottery craftsmen in this area have faced issues with both the aesthetic values and quality standard of their products, even having defective products due to poor processes. Despite these challenges, pottery craft in Pagelaran is considered a cultural heritage that has contributed to the welfare of craftsmen and the local community, as well as the preservation of local wisdom. To improve the quality of their products, the craftsmen in Pagelaran have focused on the way they use tools and materials, the technical production process by linking technology and the environment, the method used, and the effect on future environmental changes. This study employs a descriptive qualitative and action research, which involves the craftsmen community in Kampung Edukasi Wisata. Data is collected through observation and in-depth interviews and analyzed using the 6P simultaneous stages technique proposed by Winarno and Robfiah (2020). The findings of the study show that while the tools and materials used in the pottery production are still traditional, the pottery of Pagelaran is leading to innovative aesthetic products. Pottery production activities have an impact on the physical environment, requiring technology, methods, and cultural impact in the exploitation of the environment under the cultural ecology perspective. Despite the traditional production process, it has been integrated with user demands so that the quality of the product is improved through the standardization of the combustion process, product decoration, and additional touches of aesthetic values on the products. Overall, this study provides insights into how traditional craftsmen can improve their product quality through a focus on both the technical production process and cultural impact.Keywords: aesthetic innovation, combustion process, pottery, PagelaranPengembangan kerajinan gerabah: Peningkatan pola pengelolaan pembakaran tradisional untuk mutu dan estetika produk di Desa Pagelaran, MalangPenelitian ini mengkaji proses peningkatan kualitas produk gerabah di desa Pagelaran Malang terutama dengan perbaikan proses pembakaran tradisional. Pengrajin gerabah tradisional di daerah ini menghadapi kendala baik dari segi nilai estetika maupun standar kualitas produknya, bahkan produknya seringkali cacat karena proses yang kurang baik. Terlepas dari tantangan tersebut, kerajinan gerabah di Pagelaran dianggap sebagai warisan budaya yang berkontribusi terhadap kesejahteraan pengrajin dan masyarakat setempat, serta pelestarian kearifan lokal. Untuk meningkatkan kualitas produknya, para pengrajin di Pagelaran menitikberatkan pada cara penggunaan alat dan bahan, teknis proses produksi dengan menghubungkan teknologi dan lingkungan, metode yang digunakan, dan pengaruh terhadap perubahan lingkungan di masa depan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dan action research yang melibatkan komunitas pengrajin di Kampung Edukasi Wisata. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi dan wawancara mendalam serta dianalisis menggunakan teknik tahapan simultan 6P yang dikemukakan oleh Winarno dan Robfiah (2020). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa meskipun alat dan bahan yang digunakan dalam pembuatan gerabah masih tradisional, namun gerabah Pagelaran mengarah pada produk estetika yang inovatif. Kegiatan produksi gerabah berdampak pada lingkungan fisik, membutuhkan teknologi, metode, dan dampak budaya dalam pemanfaatan lingkungan dalam perspektif ekologi budaya. Meskipun proses produksinya tradisional, namun telah terintegrasi dengan kebutuhan pengguna sehingga kualitas produk ditingkatkan melalui standarisasi proses pembakaran, dekorasi produk, dan tambahan sentuhan nilai estetika pada produk. Secara keseluruhan, penelitian ini memberikan wawasan tentang bagaimana pengrajin tradisional dapat meningkatkan kualitas produk mereka melalui fokus pada proses produksi teknis dan dampak budaya.Kata Kunci: estetika, inovasi, proses pembakaran, gerabah, Pagelaran

Abstract

AbstrakMasyarakat desa Benjor yang tergabung dalam Usaha Mikro Kecil dan Menengah (UMKM) menjadikan komunitas inovator yang mampu melihat peluang, semangat, dan berkemampuan dalam memperkaya pasar dengan produk yang inovatif. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat bertujuan untuk mengetahui potensi desa didalam hal pengembangan Produk Sambal Bakar Pawon Benjor untuk menambah penghasilan masyarakat khususnya kaum perempuan di Desa Benjor. Pendampingan yang dilakukan pada masyarakat Desa Benjor terdiri dari tahapan perancangan dengan membuat desain label pada kemasan produk, Nomor Izin Berusaha (NIB), serta membuat akun Instagram sebagai media promosi. Kemudian dilakukan sosialisasi tentang cara pengalengan makanan juga cara sterilisasi kemasan. Setelah itu, dilakukan demonstrasi pembuatan Sambal Bakar Pawon Benjor oleh bersama ibu-ibu Desa Benjor. Terakhir memproduksi sambal bakar untuk diperjualbelikan Hasil dari pendampingan UMKM ini adalah para perempuan di Desa Benjor mengetahui cara memasak Sambal Bakar sekaligus cara pengalengan makanan dan sterilisasi yang tetap terjaga dan tahan lama. Kegiatan ini membangun kesadaran mengenai inovasi di bidang ekonomi kreatif yang kemudian menjadikan UMKM Sambal Bakar Pawon Benjor ini sebagai produk unggulan dari Desa Benjor. Then socialization was conducted on how to properly store food as well as how to sterilize the packaging. After that, a demonstration of making Sambal Bakar Pawon Benjor was performed by the mothers of Benjor Village. The result of this MSME mentoring is that women in Benjor Village are familiar with how to cook Sambal Bakar as well as how to cannage and sterilize food that is maintained and lasts a long time, as well as building awareness about innovation in the field of creative economy which then makes Sambal Bakar Pawon Benjor MSMEs a flagship product of Benjor Village. Abstract

Abstract

The quality education process in learning foreign languages, mainly German, must be supported by learning media. To improve vocabulary knowledge about German Artikel with the Haustiere theme needs to be supported by "Barcode-Karten" as the purpose of this research. Multimedia-based learning media utilizes audio, text, and images by combining barcodes, links, and tools with that students are interested in finding out, interacting, and communicating. Borg and Gall's research and development model was modificated in this study. The validation and trial phases have been carried out on the development of Barcode-Karten media. Quantitative data in the form of assessment scores with a Likert scale and qualitative data were obtained from criticism and suggestions through questionnaires to validators and students of class XI Cross-Interest German Language at SMA Laboratorium UM. Data were analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis techniques. The function of this media can bring out the desire and motivation and positively influence on students' vocabulary mastery. In addition, Barcode-Karten is worthy of being a learning medium to improve the knowledge of German vocabulary with the Haustiere theme.
