Abstract

Frankenstein is a 2004 American horror film adapted from the 1818 novel Frankenstein by Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley; or, Modern Prometheus. This film tells the story of a scientist, namely Victor Frankenstein, whose ambition is to create life. Victor Frankenstein's ambition unknowingly brought havoc in his life. Victor Frankenstein is a Swiss natural sciences student who resurrects artificial humans made from dead body parts using an electroshock device. Everyone his creation meets including himself is motivated to hate him. The monster, abandoned and lonely, attacks its maker, who eventually perishes. In this study, the authors examine the representation of the meaning of symbols in the 2004 Victor Frankenstein film using Charles Sanders Pierce's semiotic approach. Researchers used descriptive qualitative research methods. The descriptive qualitative research method is research that tends to use analysis and focuses on in-depth observations. The results of this study indicate that the researcher found 17 symbols with different meanings in the "Victor Frankenstein film".

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas konflik batin cinta dalam novel "Cahaya Mentari Pagi" karya Maria a Sardjono dengan pendekatan psikologi sastra dan struktur kepribadian. Metode deskriptif dan analisis data kualitatif digunakan dengan menggunakan teknik baca catat terhadap novel tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konflik batin cinta muncul dari janji yang dibuat oleh ayah tokoh utama dengan sahabat karibnya, mempengaruhi hubungan antara tokoh utama dan kekasihnya. Dalam menghadapi konflik ini, tokoh-tokoh menggunakan berbagai mekanisme pertahanan psikologis seperti rasionalisasi, projeksi, identifikasi, dan pemindahan. Selain itu, keseimbangan antara id, ego, dan superego juga menjadi fokus dalam menganalisis perilaku tokoh-tokoh dalam mengatasi konflik batin cinta. Temuan ini memberikan wawasan yang mendalam tentang kompleksitas psikologis tokoh-tokoh dalam novel dan interaksi antara kepribadian mereka dalam menghadapi konflik emosional.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan fakta kemanusiaan yang terkandung dalam Novel “Hanya Tiga Kata” karya Dwitasari. Dalam mengkaji fakta kemanusiaan dalam novel “Hanya Tiga Kata” karya Dwitasari peneliti menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan membaca, mencatat dan menarik kesimpulan. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah Novel “Hanya Tiga Kata” karya Dwitasari. Dalam penelitian ini ditemukan hasil berupa beberapa fakta kemanusiaan. Fakta manusia yang ditemukan dalam novel tersebut terbagi menjadi dua bagian, yaitu fakta individu dan fakta sosial. Adapun  fakta individual dalam novel tersebut berupa sikap marah, sikap sedih, sikap malu, dan sikap cemburu. Sedangkan fakta sosial berupa hubungan sosial yaitu dalam bentuk hubungan interaksi antar tokoh, dan hubungan ekonomi. Fakta kemanusiaan dalam Novel karya Dwitasari “Hanya Tiga Kata” tercermin dalam kehidupan masyarakat. Khususnya fakta-fakta kehidupan sosial individu yang sedang dilanda problematika. ABSTRACT This study aims to find out the human facts contained in the novel "Only Three Words" by Dwitasari. In studying human facts in the novel "Only Three Words" by Dwitasari, researchers used a qualitative descriptive method. Data collection is done by reading, taking notes and drawing conclusions. The data source for this research is the novel "Only Three Words" by Dwitasari. In this study the results were found in the form of several human facts. The human facts found in the novel are divided into two parts, namely individual facts and social facts. The individual facts in the novel are anger, sadness, shame, and jealousy. While social facts in the form of social relations, namely in the form of interactions between figures, and economic relations. Human facts in the novel by Dwitasari "Only Three Words" are reflected in people's lives. Especially the facts of individual social life that are being hit by problems.

Abstract

This research focuses on analyzing the novel "Jejak Langkah" by Pramoedya Ananta Toer with a postcolonial approach. Through the descriptive qualitative method, this research explores the resistance and liberation depicted in the main character, Minke, as a representation of the spirit of resistance and aspirations for Indonesian independence. Minke does not only fight physically, but also through intellectual struggle, identity search, and development of political awareness. Through critical writing and relationships with nationalist figures, Minke builds national consciousness among the people and rejects Dutch colonial norms to fight for pride in Indoan identity and culture. This research illustrates the collective struggle to achieve independence and national dignity in the context of colonial colonization.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out what Batak culture is in the novel Terminal Cinta Akhir by Ashadi Siregar. The type of research used is qualitative research. In this research, data collection techniques were carried out using library techniques. This research data analysis technique was carried out in three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The novel Terminal Cinta Terakhir is studied using literary anthropology studies. The results of the research show that there are several Batak cultures contained in the novel Terminal Cinta Terakhir. Even though the story is set in Jakarta, Batak culture is well depicted in the novel. Batak culture in the novel exists in several aspects, namely cultural context, human and environmental interaction, identity and identification, and popular culture.

Abstract

Genetic Structuralism Analysis is used in this study to discuss human facts, collective subjects, and worldviews in the novel When Love Must Be Patient by Nurlaila Zahra.  Through a genetic structuralism approach, this study identifies and analyzes the narrative structure that emerges from social, cultural, and historical factors that shape the facts of humanity in the novel.  Apart from that, this study also explores how the collective subject is influenced by these factors and how the world view contained in the novel is reflected through the resulting narrative structure. The results of the research show that the historical, social, and cultural factors that occurred during the writing of the novel greatly influenced the structure and meaning of the novel When Love Must Be Patient.  This novel displays different world views through the characters that represent them, such as views on love, religion, culture, and gender.  In addition, this novel also shows the complexity of collective subjects in society, such as the tension between traditional and modern values, as well as the role of the individual in maintaining the integrity and harmony of society.

Abstract

 This research aims to explain the meaning of poetry during the colonial period contained in the poem Menghadapi Maut. The poem Menghadapi Maut by Sutan Takdir Alihsajbana is a poem that describes the social reality of Indonesia as a European colony. Almost three centuries of colonialism in Indonesia has had a huge impact on the lifestyle of the Indonesian people today, through the poem Menghadapi Maut, the struggles and conditions of the Indonesian people see and feel the anxiety of the end of life from the colonizers who are about to take their lives. Therefore, the purpose of writing this article is to provide an overview of the form of postcolonial facing death poetry. The research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a content analysis method, and the source of information is the poetry text by Sutan Takdir Alihsajbana Menghadapi Maut. The results of this study indicate that there is a representation of death addressed by Menghadapi Maut poem through anxiety and unrest facing the conditions of warfare during the colonial period. The conclusion of this research is the description of death in the poem "Menghadapi Maut" that occurred in the colonial era which is clearly interpreted as a form of anxiety and unrest facing death.

Abstract

Hermeneutics is a theory that can help readers interpret and make sense of a text. The hermeneutic theory of Paul Ricoeur, among others, introduces the elements of sense and reference which can be recognized as devices of meaning. Sense is the meaning of the text that can be traced through the meaning of the relationship between the text itself. While reference is the relationship between the text and its references outside the text. The texts in Christopher Paolini's novel Eldest show the content of sense with poetic meaning. The reference shows the reality that could happen. The dialect of sense and reference can be interpreted as a dialect between the meaning of a poetic text and an event, for example in the form of a tragedy. The combination of the beauty of the poetic text with the factual events of the news text is indeed a distinctive character of the novel text based on Ricoeur's hermeneutic theory.

Abstract

Karya sastra merupakan keindahan kata-kata yang meliputi banyak aspek dalam kehidupan manusia. Selain sebagai karya yang menggambarkan cerita yang dapat dinikmati oleh pembacanya. Peneliti memilih novel lewat kertas: Kutitipkan rindu buat ayah karya Lina Ramdayani. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perilaku tokoh utama dalam novel lewat kertas Kutitipkan rindu buat ayah dan Konflik batin menggambarkan bagaimana perasaan dan pikiran dalam karakter yang dialami oleh dirinya sendiri. Fokus kajian penelitian ini adalah nilai moral. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif. Sumber data yang di dapatkan melalui Instrumen penelitian ini adalah peneliti itu sendiri yang didasari pada teori. Teknik pengumpulan data penelitian dilakukan dengan membaca seluruh isi novel, mengamati dan mencatat informasi yang diperoleh. Hasil dari penelitian ini berbicara tentang aspek id, ego, superego tokoh utama Agri dalam novel terjadi konflik batin. Konflik internal dan eksternal memunculkan aspek-aspek kepribadian dalam diri tokoh. Dalam novel diceritakan Agri sosok pemuda yang rela menuliskan sepucuk surat yang ditipkan di kantong kursi terminal untuk menunggu sosok Ayahnya yang telah pergi bertahun-tahun hanya karena terlilit utang dan menikah dengan seorang perempuan bernama Desi. Agri tokoh utama harus melalui konflik-konflik dalam hidupnya dan berusaha untuk menyelesaikan semuanya. Aspek ego yang muncul pada dirinya adalah ketika dia berada pada pertimbangan antara mencari atau menunggu sosok Ayahnya, dia tidak ingin terus-terusan berbohong pada Kamil adiknya atas kedua orangtua mereka. Aspek superego muncul ketika dia memilih untuk mencari Ayahnya dan berusaha memperbaiki hubungan keluarganya, dorongan aspek id dan ego sehingga superego terpengaruh dan berpikir secara rasionalitas atas hubungan harmonis keluarganya.Kata kunci:  konflik batin, psikologi, sastra, kepribadian
