Abstract

This article discusses the existence of women in the novel "Merahnya Merah" by Iwan Simatupang. The study uses a qualitative descriptive method. Data were collected through careful reading of the novel and extraction of quotes that describe the existence of women. The data were then analyzed qualitatively using the theory of existentialist feminism. The findings of the study show that female characters in the novel display their existence through work, becoming intellectual agents, and rejecting gender subordination. They show courage, independence, and rejection of male domination, in line with the concept of existentialist feminism. The novel also depicts the existence of women as active subjects who oppose patriarchal norms. Female characters such as Maria and Fifi show the potential of women to be independent, think critically, and oppose gender subordination.Keywords: existentialism; feminism; novel Abstrak: Artikel ini mendiskusikan  eksistensi perempuan dalam novel "Merahnya Merah" karya Iwan Simatupang. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data dikumpulkan melalui pembacaan teliti terhadap novel dan ekstraksi kutipan yang menggambarkan eksistensi perempuan. Data kemudian dianalisis secara kualitatif dengan menggunakan teori feminisme eksistensialis. Temuan penelitian menujukkan bahwa tokoh perempuan dalam novel menampilkan eksistensi diri mereka melalui pekerjaan, menjadi agen intelektual, dan menolak subordinasi gender. Mereka menunjukkan keberanian, kemandirian, dan penolakan terhadap dominasi laki-laki, sejalan dengan konsep feminisme eksistensialis. Dalam novel juga  tergambar eksistensi perempuan sebagai subjek aktif yang menentang norma-norma patriarki. Tokoh perempuan seperti Maria dan Fifi menunjukkan potensi perempuan untuk mandiri, berpikir kritis, dan menentang subordinasi gender.Katakunci: eksistensialisme; feminisme; novel

Abstract

This article will describe gender inequality and social stereotypes in a poem. This study uses a qualitative approach because poetry is subjective and full of symbolic meaning, which allows for an in-depth approach to understanding and interpreting the poem's message. The results of the study show that the poem “Perempuan yang Tergusur” by W.S. Rendra intensely describes the struggle of marginalized women through the combination of natural elements with emotional and social journeys. In addition, from a feminist perspective, the poem depicts issues such as sexual exploitation, oppression, legal injustice, and eviction as a result of inequality. This is a deep, thought-provoking depiction of inequality and women's struggles, making this poem a call for more just and equal change.Keywords: feminism; inequality; poetry Abstrak:Artikel ini akan menggambarkan ketidaksetaraan gender dan stereotip sosial dalam sebuah puisi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif karena puisi bersifat subjektif dan penuh makna simbolis, yang memungkinkan pendekatan mendalam untuk memahami dan menginterpretasikan pesan puisi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa puisi “Perempuan yang Tergusur” karya W.S. Rendra menggambarkan secara intens perjuangan perempuan yang terpinggirkan melalui penggabungan elemen alam dengan perjalanan emosional dan sosial. Selain itu, dari kaca mata feminisme dalam puisi tergambar isu-isu seperti eksploitasi seksual, penindasan, ketidakadilan hukum, dan pengusiran sebagai akibat ketidaksetaraan. Inilah gambaran mendalam yang menggugah pemikiran mengenai ketidaksetaraan dan perjuangan perempuan, menjadikan puisi ini sebagai panggilan untuk perubahan yang lebih adil dan setara.Katakunci: feminisme; ketidaksetaraan; puisi

Abstract

This research aims to find out how the existence of women in the novel Re and Perempuan by Maman using the feminism theory approach. This research is qualitative descriptive. The data in this study comes from quotations in the novel related to women's existence. reading and note-taking techniques are applied in the data collection process. The reading technique is used to understand and interpret the content of the text, while the note-taking technique focuses on the female characters in the novel who experience various types of oppression and injustice. The results of this study are as follows: first, the presence of female characters. The female characters in this novel are women who eventually succeed and achieve the freedom they dream of, but are trapped in situations that limit them. Secondly, the life of women in society, prostitutes who are considered as the scum of society even though their existence is the result of the existing economic inequality. Third, women in education show that the social level of parents cannot be a benchmark for children's education. Melur, who was born from a prostitute, was able to get a PhD. The theory used in this research is Simmone de Beaouvier's existentialist feminism theory. Existentialist feminism examines how the existence of female characters in living their lives.

Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of looking for social criticism in the novel Book Shamer by Asmira Fhea, data was taken from the novel Book Shamer by Asmira Fhea. Data collection was carried out using library techniques, listening and taking notes. The data analysis methods used are descriptive analysis, content analysis, and comparative analysis by identifying elements in the novel, using Lucian Goldman's literary sociology theory. The results of this research show that there are five social criticisms in the novel Book Shamer, namely moral criticism about the ethics of communication on social media and the importance of empathy, educational criticism regarding the freedom to choose an educational path and a dismissive view of the field of literature, and family criticism which describes generational conflict related to appreciation. towards reading fiction. This research also emphasizes the importance of social awareness and appreciation of various types of knowledge and literary works. This study can show how literary works can be a medium for reflection and criticism of social reality. This confirms that literary works are not only entertainment, but also have an important role in forming social awareness.

Abstract

This research aims to find and describe the form of gender injustice and the form of women's resistance in the novel Lebih Senyap dari Bisikan by using Simone de Beauvior's existential feminism theory approach. The data source in this research is taken from the novel Lebih Senyap dari Bisikan by Andina dwifatma. Data collection in this study used reading and note-taking techniques. The results of this study show the existence of gender injustice in the form of discrimination, biological conditions, and a form of resistance in the form of rejection of women as others as well as additional workloads on women to find and show the existence of the female characters from this novel.

Abstract

Seiring perkembangan teknologi, minat siswa terhadap informasi digital meningkat. Namun, ketidakmampuan untuk menyaring informasi membuat mereka rentan terhadap hoaks. Hoaks dapat menyebabkan misinformasi, polarisasi sosial, bahkan ketakutan yang tidak beralasan. Siswa harus dilatih untuk berpikir kritis, mengevaluasi sumber informasi, dan membedakan antara fakta dan pendapat. Kegiatan PKM pelatihan literasi informasi untuk siswa dalam memerangi hoaks di dunia digital bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan kesadaran siswa terhadap bahaya hoaks dan menumbuhkan etika digital dalam pengelolaan informasi. Tim PKM mengadakan kegiatan melalui pendampingan dan penyuluhan di SMK Negeri 3 Makassar.  Siswa mendapatkan pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan perspektif yang dibutuhkan untuk menghadapi tantangan informasi di era digital. Siswa tidak hanya memperoleh pemahaman tentang efek buruk hoaks tetapi juga mendapatkan pengalaman praktis dalam menemukan, menganalisis, dan memverifikasi informasi melalui workshop verifikasi informasi, studi kasus, dan ceramah interaktif. Mereka diberi instruksi untuk memastikan bahwa informasi yang mereka terima adalah akurat dengan menggunakan alat digital seperti situs pemeriksa kebenaran dan mesin pencari. Oleh karena itu, pelatihan ini membantu siswa menjadi pengguna media digital yang lebih cerdas, kritis, dan bertanggung jawab. Kesimpulan bahwa siswa dididik dengan keterampilan untuk memverifikasi informasi dan membangun sikap bertanggung jawab, sehingga mereka menjadi pengguna media digital yang kritis, bijaksana, dan berkontribusi positif pada pembentukan lingkungan digital yang sehat.Abstract. As technology advances, students' interest in digital information increases. However, the inability to filter information makes them vulnerable to hoaxes. Hoaxes can cause misinformation, social polarization, and even unfounded fear. Students must be trained to think critically, evaluate sources of information, and distinguish between facts and opinions. The PKM activity of information literacy training for students in combating hoaxes in the digital world aims to increase students' understanding and awareness of the dangers of hoaxes and foster digital ethics in information management. The PKM team held activities through mentoring and counseling at SMK Negeri 3 Makassar. Students gained the knowledge, skills, and perspectives needed to face the challenges of information in the digital era. Students not only gained an understanding of the negative effects of hoaxes but also gained practical experience in finding, analyzing, and verifying information through information verification workshops, case studies, and interactive lectures. They were instructed to ensure that the information they received was accurate by using digital tools such as truth-checking sites and search engines. Therefore, this training helps students become smarter, more critical, and responsible digital media users. The conclusion is that students are educated with the skills to verify information and build a responsible attitude, so that they become critical, wise digital media users and contribute positively to the formation of a healthy digital environment.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the novel entitled "Azab dan sengsara" by Merari Siregar using the existential feminism approach as a view of the role of women in expressing their existentiality how women do not rely on men in their lives.  The method in this research uses descriptive qualitative through novel data sources by analyzing the existence of women in characters, and examining the influence of patriarchal culture on male characters. The results of the study discuss the conflicts that occur in a society by discussing the views of male characters, and the habits of society as a means of dominating women, such as, gender inequality, women's unfreedom in forced marriages, women's love results in discrimination In addition to this, it has been found that the existence of women in society, who are aware of the existence of women, and get the right to position as women including, the right to freedom, the right to express ideas and opinions, the right to be recognized.

Abstract

This research reviews the concepts of liminality and ambivalence in the novel Burung-Burung Manyar by Y.B. Mangunwijaya using a qualitative descriptive approach. The analysis describes how the two concepts are reflected in the narrative, characters, and themes of the novel. The results of the analysis show that the characters in the novel experience liminality, being on the verge of transition between two different identities or cultures, as well as ambivalence, with mixed feelings between emotions and beliefs. The novel depicts the complexity of the relationship between colonials and colonists and the individual's experience of self-discovery in the midst of cultural and social conflict.

Abstract

This research aims to express the portrait of women in the novel Manusia Bebas by analyzing the feminist literary criticism approach that provides another space in literary appreciation and criticism. The analysis conducted by examining the novel Manusia Bebas by Suwarsih Djojopoespito uses the repeated reading method and the qualitative descriptive method so that it is possible to open up space for interpretation regarding female characters and their position in the novel. The qualitative research method is also known as the interpretative method because the research data is more related to the interpretation of the data found in the field. The results of the research on the novel "Manusia Bebas" by Suwarsih Djojopoespito found Sulastri's role as a child, Sulastri's role in society, and Sulastri's role as a wife. The most basic role for a child is to respect their parents. But this obedience is not always absolute. Sulastri is committed to fighting for the right to education for the community by establishing folk schools or private schools and choosing freedom outside the lines. In order to support and achieve her goal, she supported Sudarmo even though she had to live with hardship. Even so, Sulastri was still a critical woman who also criticized her own husband to also urge him to prosper her as his wife and child.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pemahaman makna secara gramatikal dan psikologis serta mengungkap pandangan, pengalaman dan ekspresi pribadi dalam Kumpulan puisi Pandora karya Oka Rusmini secara eksplisit maupun implisit dengan menggunakan pendekatan hermeneutika Schleiermacher dalam menganalisis makna yang terkandung dalam puisi-puisi. Pendekatan ini mencakup dua aspek utama: pemahaman gramatikal, yang mengacu pada analisis struktur bahasa dan konteks historis, serta pemahaman psikologis, yang berfokus pada latar belakang emosional dan mental penulis. Melalui analisis ini, puisi-puisi dalam Pandora seperti Ulat, Lelakiku, 24 Juni, Ziarah, dan Lumut diinterpretasikan sebagai ekspresi dari ketegangan batin, perasaan teralienasi, serta penggambaran konflik gender yang kuat. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa karya Oka Rusmini menggambarkan perjuangan perempuan dalam menghadapi ekspektasi sosial, konflik emosional dalam hubungan personal, serta refleksi spiritualitas dan cinta yang melampaui batas-batas sosial. Setiap puisi menawarkan wawasan tentang realitas sosial yang kompleks, sekaligus memberikan ruang untuk pembaca merenung dan merasakan pengalaman emosional yang diungkapkan oleh penulis. Pendekatan hermeneutika memungkinkan pembaca untuk memahami teks tidak hanya dari sudut pandang penulis, tetapi juga melalui pengalaman pribadi mereka, menciptakan interpretasi yang lebih kaya dan mendalam terhadap karya sastra ini.
