Abstract

This research has two main objectives: (1) to investigate the extent of the effectiveness of using the Kahoot! platform in evaluating students' understanding of physics concepts; and (2) to explore and understand students' perceptions regarding the use of digital assessments based on the Kahoot! platform in the context of evaluating their understanding of these physics concepts. This study falls into the category of experimental research that employs a quantitative method with a research design known as One group pretest – posttest. In its implementation, the instruments used to collect data include interviews, tests, and systematically designed questionnaires. The results of this study indicate that: (1) the analysis shows that the N-Gain scores obtained fall within the moderate criteria, indicating that the use of the Kahoot! platform is effective in evaluating students' understanding of physics concepts, thus demonstrating a significant improvement in their understanding; and (2) students' perceptions of the use of this digital assessment received a very good category. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the use of digital assessments based on Kahoot! is not only effective in enhancing students' understanding but also highly suitable for application in the process of evaluating understanding of physics concepts, making it a beneficial alternative in the modern educational landscape.

Abstract

The problems in this study can be seen in the varying motivation and interest of students in learning. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of PjBL model assisted by ethnophysics of traditional games on higher order thinking skills of grade XI students. This type of research is a quasi-experiment with nonequivalent control group design. The population of this study were students of class XI IPA with a total of 227 students with a sample of 76 students. Sampling used purposive sampling technique. The research data were analyzed with descriptive and inferential statistics with SPSS version 25 software. Based on the results of the inferential statistical test through the independent sample t-test test, it was found that the application of the PjBL model in physics learning aided by ethnophysics had an influence on higher order thinking skills (HOTS) at the Sig level. (????) = 0,05. The results of the Cohen's d effect size test (=0.753) state that the effect of physics learning with the PjBL model assisted by ethnophysics on HOTS of class XI students is in the medium category. The findings in this study, will make a very important contribution to physics learning. Teachers can integrate the PjBL model with the local culture approach, which will create more meaningful learning.

Abstract

Pembelajaran sains menjadi aspek penting dalam membekali siswa menghadapi tantangan abad ke-21 yang menuntut kemampuan berpikir kritis, pemecahan masalah, dan literasi teknologi. Untuk menjawab tantangan tersebut, kurikulum harus mampu mendorong siswa untuk aktif, kreatif, dan menerapkan konsep sains dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji perbedaan kurikulum pembelajaran sains antara Indonesia dan Spanyol, serta mengidentifikasi praktik yang relevan untuk diadaptasi dalam rangka meningkatkan mutu pembelajaran sains di Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi pustaka melalui analisis dokumen kurikulum, artikel ilmiah, dan kebijakan pendidikan dari kedua negara. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa kurikulum di Indonesia masih dominan bersifat teoritis dan belum sepenuhnya mengintegrasikan praktik serta inovasi dalam pembelajaran. Sebaliknya, kurikulum di Spanyol lebih menekankan pendekatan berbasis proyek, kolaboratif, dan interdisipliner, serta memanfaatkan teknologi digital secara aktif. Meskipun Kurikulum Merdeka memberikan ruang untuk pembaruan, pelaksanaannya masih terkendala oleh keterbatasan pelatihan guru dan sarana pendukung. Oleh sebab itu, reformasi kurikulum yang adaptif terhadap pendekatan global dan relevan dengan kebutuhan siswa sangat diperlukan untuk mengoptimalkan pembelajaran sains di Indonesia.

Abstract

The research aims to develop e-modules based on socio-scientific issues that are feasible to use, determine the response of grade X students to the use of e-modules based on socio-scientific issues and determine the increase in creative thinking of grade X students. This development research is based on the 4-D model which includes four steps namely Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate. This research was conducted until the Develop stage due to the limited time of researchers in conducting research. The subjects of this study were 33 grade X students. The instruments used were expert validation assessment sheets, student response questionnaires and creative thinking skills test questions. The results of this study indicate that e-modules based on socio-scientific issues are very feasible to use because the use of e-modules can improve students' creative thinking skills with an average percentage of 91%. Students' creative thinking skills obtained an N-Gain value of 0.76 (high category). Students' response to the e-module based on socio-scientific issues is included in the very good category because this e-module presents subject matter and explanatory videos on each topic and improves students' creative thinking skills with an average percentage of 87%. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the e-module based on socio-scientific issues developed is very feasible to use.

Abstract

Fokus utama dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menggali perbedaan dalam cara mengajar yang digunakan oleh guru serta metode evaluasi yang diterapkan untuk menilai pemahaman siswa. Penelitian ini juga bertujuan untuk menemukan keuntungan dan tantangan dari masingmasing pendekatan dalam membantu siswa memahami fisika dengan lebih baik. Dengan mengeksplorasi perspektif dari kedua negara, penelitian ini diharapkan bisa memberikan informasi yang berguna bagi guru dan pembuat kebijakan untuk memperbaiki kualitas pengajaran fisika di sekolah menengah atas di Indonesia. Pertanyaan yang menjadi fokus dalam studi ini adalah perbandingan metode pengajaran fisika di sekolah menengah atas antara Indonesia dan Vietnam serta sistem evaluasi yang digunakan di kedua negara dalam pembelajaran fisika, serta dampaknya pada pemahaman dan prestasi siswa. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis perbedaan metode pembelajaran fisika di Indonesia dan Vietnam serta menilai sistem evaluasi fisika di kedua negara dan dampaknya terhadap pemahaman siswa.

Abstract

This study utilizes data from the 2022 Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) to analyze the determinants affecting the science literacy performance of Indonesian and Mexican students from Indonesia and Mexico. A descriptive qualitative methodology employing a comparative study method was utilized to assess secondary data from the OECD 2022 report, pertinent scientific publications, and closely linked educational documents through content analysis and document study approaches. The findings indicated that Indonesian students' science literacy achievement was below the OECD average, with Indonesian students scoring 383 compared to 399 for Mexican students; 34% of Indonesian students demonstrated mastery of basic concept understanding (level 2), while 49% of Mexican students did so. Notable disparities exist in educational infrastructure (70% of schools in Mexico possess laboratories compared to 35% in Indonesia), budgetary allocation for education (4.3% of Mexico's GDP versus 3.6% of Indonesia's GDP), and the incorporation of the STEM education system in Mexico relative to the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in Indonesia, which is limited by inadequate facilities. The determinants influencing the attainment of scientific literacy include the percentage of pupils from low-income households (43% of Indonesian students compared to 27% of Mexican students) and the level of students' interest in science (18% of Indonesian students against 35% of Mexican students). Enhancement of scientific literacy can be achieved by augmented training for educators in science and the expansion of technological resources for scientific activities in schools.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Curriculum is a learning plan that is prepared in accordance with national education policies and objectives to be the main guideline in the education process. This study analyzes the curriculum and implementation of science learning in Indonesia and the United Kingdom. This study uses a qualitative method with a comparative approach based on literature review. The results show that Indonesia uses the more flexible Merdeka Curriculum, but the UK uses a more structured National Curriculum with a Key Stages system. Science learning in Indonesia is still theory-oriented with limited experimental activities in the laboratory, while the UK emphasizes experimentation and problem solving. The advantage of the Indonesian curriculum system is its flexibility, but the main challenge in implementing the curriculum is the availability of supporting infrastructure for science learning and the willingness of educators. In contrast, the UK system has strict academic standards, so academic guidance becomes a challenge for students. To improve the quality of science learning in Indonesia, it is necessary to align the requirements of the curriculum documents with their implementation, improve the competence of teachers, and strengthen laboratory facilities to support experiment-based learning. ABSTRAK Kurikulum adalah rancangan pembelajaran yang disusun sesuai kebijakan dan tujuan pendidikan nasional untuk menjadi pedoman utama dalam proses pendidikan. Penelitian ini menganalisis kurikulum dan implementasi pembelajaran sains di Indonesia dan Inggris. Studi ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan komparatif berbasis studi literatur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Indonesia menerapkan Kurikulum Merdeka yang lebih fleksibel, namun Inggris menggunakan National Curriculum yang lebih terstruktur dengan sistem Key Stages. Pembelajaran sains di Indonesia masih berorientasi pada teori dengan keterbatasan kegiatan eksperimen di laboratorium, sedangkan Inggris lebih menekankan eksperimen dan pemecahan masalah. Keunggulan sistem kurukulum di Indonesia adalah fleksibilitasnya tetapi tantangan utamanya untuk mengimplementasi kurikulum adalah ketersedian infrastruktur pendukung pembelajaran sain dan kesiapan tenaga pendidik. Sebaliknya, sistem Inggris memiliki standar akademik yang ketat sehingga tuntanta akademik menjadi tantangan bagi siswa. Untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran sains di Indonesia, diperlukan kesesuian tuntutan dokumen kurikulum dengan implementasinya, peningkatan kompetensi guru, serta penguatan fasilitas laboratorium untuk mendukung pembelajaran berbasis eksperimen.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study seeks to provide a comparative analysis of the implementation of multicultural education within the educational systems of Indonesia and Canada. This study emphasizes the significance of intercultural education in cultivating an inclusive and tolerant society, particularly in the context of the cultural, ethnic, and religious variety present in both nations. The employed methodology is a literature review utilizing a qualitative approach and comparative examination of policy documents, curriculum, and pertinent research findings. National research findings indicate that Canada has intentionally incorporated multicultural education into its educational framework via curriculum, legislation, teacher training, and community engagement. Conversely, in Indonesia, multicultural principles are implicitly integrated into several disciplines and largely rely on teacher activities and the educational atmosphere. While both are dedicated to diversity, Canada excels in systemic support and lacks a formal policy. This study advocates for Indonesia to establish a more systematic multicultural education strategy, enhance teacher training, and contextually incorporate local cultural values into the curriculum. This study aims to serve as a reference for advancing a more inclusive and responsive educational system that addresses diversity in the context of globalization. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis secara komparatif implementasi pendidikan multikultural dalam sistem pendidikan di Indonesia dan Kanada. Latar belakang kajian ini didasari oleh pentingnya pendidikan multikultural dalam membentuk masyarakat yang inklusif dan toleran, terutama di tengah keberagaman budaya, etnis, dan agama yang dimiliki oleh kedua negara. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi literatur dengan pendekatan kualitatif dan analisis komparatif terhadap dokumen kebijakan, kurikulum, serta hasil-hasil penelitian yang relevan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Kanada telah mengintegrasikan pendidikan multikultural secara eksplisit dalam sistem pendidikannya melalui kurikulum, kebijakan, pelatihan guru, dan keterlibatan komunitas. Sebaliknya, di Indonesia, nilai-nilai multikultural masih diimplementasikan secara implisit dalam beberapa mata pelajaran dan bergantung pada inisiatif guru serta lingkungan sekolah. Meskipun keduanya memiliki komitmen terhadap keberagaman, Kanada lebih unggul dalam hal dukungan sistemik dan adanya kebijakan. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan agar Indonesia mengembangkan pendidikan multikultural yang terstruktur, memperkuat pelatihan guru, dan mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai budaya lokal secara kontekstual dalam pembelajaran. Kajian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi referensi sebagai upaya pengembangan sistem pendidikan yang inklusif dan responsif terhadap keberagaman di era globalisasi.

Abstract

Penelitian Bertujuan adalah mengevaluasi mutu briket melalui pengukuran nilai kalor, kandungan air, dan kadar abu pada enam sampel berbeda. Dari hasil analisis, sampel K-A1, yang mengandung 77% kulit kemiri dan 3% bahan perekat, mencatatkan nilai kalor tertinggi, yaitu 6562 kkal/kg. Seluruh sampel yang diuji menunjukkan nilai kalor di atas 5000 kkal/kg, melampaui ketentuan standar nasional (SNI). Selain itu, kadar abu pada sampel K-A1 sebesar 6,78%, masih dalam batas toleransi SNI yang memperbolehkan kadar abu hingga 8%. Dalam aspek kadar air, sampel K-A3 (97% kulit kemiri dan 3% perekat) mencatat angka 5,78%, sedangkan sampel C-A3 dan K-A2 masing-masing memiliki kadar air 6,46% dan 7,59% — semuanya memenuhi syarat kadar air di bawah 8% menurut SNI. Berdasarkan keseluruhan parameter, briket dari sampel K-A1 dinilai sebagai yang terbaik, dengan kombinasi nilai kalor 6562 kkal/kg, kadar abu 6,78%, dan kadar air 9,07%.

Abstract

Background: This research develops a foundational mathematics textbook for PGMI students based on the Rigorous Mathematical Thinking (RMT) framework, contextualized within houses of worship to foster deeper understanding of mathematical concepts.Aim: The study aims to design and evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of the textbook while gauging students’ responses and performance improvements.Method: Using a research and development (R&D) model, this study validated the textbook through expert reviews and tested its practicality and effectiveness in small-scale and broader applications. Data were obtained through a combination of observations, interviews, surveys, and tests measuring students' conceptual comprehension. Statistical evaluations, including descriptive analysis and t-tests, were employed.Results: The textbook received validation from subject matter, presentation, and language experts, who confirmed its content and structural accuracy. Trial phases categorized the textbook as highly practical, while broader field testing indicated that students using the textbook demonstrated significantly greater improvement in conceptual understanding compared to those without it.Conclusion: The RMT-based textbook aligns with its intended objectives and provides a contextually appropriate tool for improving mathematical comprehension. These findings highlight its potential as an effective resource for mathematics learning in PGMI contexts.
