Abstract

In tilapia cultivation, the optimal temperature for growing tilapia in ponds is around 25°C – 30°C. Unstable changes in water temperature in tilapia ponds can cause seed death, therefore it is necessary to monitor regularly to maintain stable water temperature. Ways to maintain stable water temperature in this range include using a heater with normal limits. This tool was created to automate water temperature monitoring using an Arduino Uno pH sensor, LM35 as a temperature sensor and controlling water levels using the HCSR-04 ultrasound sensor. The output of water temperature measurements on the LCD screen and monitor is in the form of numbers, making it easier for tilapia fish farming to monitor temperature conditions. fish pond water.

Abstract

This study aims to design and implement an automatic water refilling system for tilapia fish ponds using the Arduino Uno microcontroller. The system utilizes an ultrasonic sensor to detect water levels in real-time and controls a water pump through a relay module. The primary objective is to maintain the water volume stability in the pond to support the health and growth of tilapia fish. Testing results indicate that the system successfully detects changes in water volume, activating the water pump when the distance between the sensor and the water surface exceeds 5 cm and automatically turning it off when the distance is less than 5 cm. By implementing this automated system, challenges such as water level fluctuations and declining water quality can be minimized, contributing to the success of integrated aquaponics-based tilapia fish farming. This research is expected to provide an innovative solution for enhancing the efficiency of tilapia pond management and meeting the demands of sustainable aquaponics systems.

Abstract

In the current era of globalization, the agricultural sector has experienced rapid progress in terms of technology, one of which is a sensor system that measures soil water content. This system was created with the aim of helping farmers not to experience difficulties in maintaining soil moisture in order to keep plants from lacking water. This study uses a quantitative and experimental approach. Quantitative is used to measure soil moisture levels systematically, experimentally carried out by designing, assembling, and testing a soil water content measurement system. The designed system consists of several main components, namely Arduino Uno as a control center, a soil moisture sensor to detect water content, a Bluetooth communication module for sending data, and a power source in the form of a 9V battery. The test results show that the developed system design functions very well and meets the stated objectives. The use of Arduino Uno as the main microcontroller provides fast and efficient data processing capabilities, so that the system can respond to changing conditions in a timely manner.

Abstract

For aquaculture to be successful, tilapia fish must be fed on schedule. To increase the efficacy and efficiency of feeding, this research attempts to design and create an automatic fish feeding system based on an Arduino Uno. Servo motors operate as actuators in this system, which uses a Real-Time Clock (RTC) to automatically set the feeding schedule and distribute feed to the pond at a predefined time. In order to create the feeding schedule twice a day, at 01.00 WIB and 17.00 WIB, this research entails creating hardware, including an Arduino Uno, LCD, and servo motor, as well as writing computer code. The outcomes of the deployment demonstrate that the system can function reliably and satisfy farmers' demands while preserving feeding accuracy. The potential of this system is.

Abstract

Production scheduling is one of the important aspects in operations management to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of the production process. This research focuses on bread production scheduling optimization using flowshop type, where the production flow consists of stages that must be followed sequentially. The Branch and Bound method is applied to minimize the total completion time (makespan) by finding the optimal solution from various possible job sequences. The results show that this method is able to produce an optimal production schedule, by reducing idle time on machines and increasing overall productivity. A case study in a bakery industry showed a reduction in makespan time of up to 15% compared to the conventional method. This finding is expected to be a practical solution for small and medium industries (SMIs) in improving production efficiency. In addition, this research contributes to the development of science in the field of operations management, particularly in flowshop type scheduling.

Abstract

Efficient and optimized production planning is essential in the textile industry to increase productivity and reduce production costs. PT X, as one of the textile companies in Indonesia, faces challenges in managing production resources optimally to meet dynamic market demands. This study aims to analyze and optimize production planning at PT X by using linear programming. The linear programming model used integrates various variables such as production capacity, raw materials, labor time, to determine the most efficient production combination. The results of this study show that the application of linear programming can improve production efficiency, minimize costs. Thus, the use of this method can help PT X in planning production more effectively and efficiently.

Abstract

Technological developments and intense competition in the service and manufacturing sectors require efficient management, especially in dealing with rising shipping costs due to exchange rate fluctuations. Goods distribution problems, which involve constraints such as variations in demand and vehicle capacity, require the implementation of transportation methods to minimize costs. This study examines the use of the North West Corner (NWC) method and the Stepping Stone technique in laptop delivery, aiming to allocate resources effectively and reduce transportation costs, thereby increasing distribution efficiency and company profitability.

Abstract

This study aims to optimize the profit of homemade wet cake businesses using linear programming with the Simplex method. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Indonesia are rapidly growing, and in the food industry sector, SMEs face challenges in managing limited resources to maximize profits. A mathematical model using linear programming is designed to assist SMEs in determining efficient resource allocation strategies. This research identifies decision variables, raw material constraints, and production capacity to maximize profits using the Simplex method. The method is applied to wet cake businesses, considering the constraints related to raw materials and production capacity. The data obtained includes information about raw materials, selling prices, production costs, and available production capacity. The mathematical model is structured with an objective function to maximize profits and constraints related to raw material limitations and production capacity. The calculations using the Simplex method show the optimal solution for resource allocation, which can improve production efficiency and profit. Thus, linear programming with the Simplex method provides significant contributions to SMEs in managing resources efficiently and adaptively, potentially enhancing competitiveness in the competitive market. This research also opens up opportunities for the application of similar methods in other SME businesses within the food industry sector.

Abstract

The phenomenon of queuing on public transport is a topic that often occurs in public service organizations. Since the implementation of the public transport program by the government, the amount of time required for service users to use public services tends to increase, which can have an impact on the satisfaction and safety of service users. One of the operations research techniques that analyzes queuing problems in production systems or service processes probabilistically is queuing theory. Queues tend to form in public facilities. One of them is the train queue at Bekasi Station. There is a queue between trains waiting to depart and trains departing for the station. This causes the arrival and departure of trains to be delayed from the predetermined schedule, thereby increasing the potential for train passengers. Queuing theory can be used to analyze queuing problems encountered at Bekasi station. Basically, queuing theory is used to determine queuing system parameters such as the average number of arrivals, and service time. These queuing parameters can be used to determine financially optimal system resources. The application of cue theory is growing along with the development of simulation methods and information systems, including system sensitivity analysis.

Abstract

T-shirts are a timeless clothing model. American and British soldiers in the 19th century initially used T-shirts for their clothing. However, as time went by, T-shirts were also worn by the public for everyday wear and for less important events. Manufacturing plants that create t-shirt on a huge scale are by and large alluded to as ready-to-wear industrial facilities. Industry. Medium-sized confectionery companies usually have several constraints, such as: limited production materials, production capital, processing time, etc. This dairy portrays the endeavors of the confectionary industry in optimizing generatiom to attain greatest benefits with negligible exertion, without diminishing the quality of the products created. One way to achieve maximum benefit is to determine the production flow and limitations using linear programming. Linear programming is a solution technique for determining optimal resource allocation problems. The solution to this linear programming is supported by the Python application for Windows. This study reveals that with the given conditions and sales targets, maximum profit can be achieved by producing t-shirts.
