Abstract

This study aims to analyse the implementation of strategic management in the Strategic Plan (Renstra) of the Kepahiang Regency Inspectorate and its contribution to improving more transparent and accountable education governance. The research approach used is descriptive qualitative with a case study method, which focuses on document analysis, observation, and relevant documentation. The research stages include preliminary studies, data collection, data analysis using the SWOT model, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that the Renstra of the Inspectorate has adopted strategic principles well, including vision, mission, strategic objectives, and performance indicators that support the strengthening of the Inspectorate's role in supervising the education sector. Strengths such as the integrity of human resources, a well-planned supervisory structure, and central policy support are important institutional assets. However, there are still weaknesses in terms of the limited number of auditors, follow-up on supervisory results, and the use of information technology. External opportunities, such as the push for bureaucratic reform and strengthening inter-institutional synergy, need to be leveraged to address threats such as low commitment from education-related government agencies. The discussion indicates that the success of oversight depends heavily on the consistent implementation of strategic management and the internalization of values such as trustworthiness, accountability, and integrity, as emphasized in the perspective of Islamic Education Management.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study investigates the influence of curriculum management practices on teacher performance in primary and secondary schools across Bengkulu Province, Indonesia. With the nationwide implementation of the Independent Curriculum (Kurikulum Merdeka) demanding stronger instructional quality, empirical evidence on how curriculum management contributes to teacher performance in local contexts remains limited. Methodology: A quantitative survey design was employed, involving 327 teachers selected through proportional stratified random sampling. Curriculum management was measured through three dimensions: planning, implementation, and evaluation. Teacher performance was assessed using indicators of pedagogical competence, instructional delivery, and classroom assessment practices. Data were analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM). Main Findings: The findings reveal that curriculum management practices have a significant positive effect on teacher performance, with curriculum evaluation emerging as the strongest predictor. Novelty/Originality of this study: The study highlights the need for strengthening data-driven curriculum monitoring and professional development. These findings contribute to the literature on curriculum governance in developing regions by providing empirical evidence from a non-metropolitan Indonesian context. They also offer evidence-based recommendations for policymakers and school leaders in optimizing curriculum implementation within decentralized education systems.

Abstract

This study examines strategic planning in Islamic higher education by analyzing the Strategic Plan (Renstra) of the Faculty of Ushuluddin, Adab, and Da’wah (FUAD) as a case study. Using a descriptive-analytical approach, the study evaluates the alignment of vision, mission, and development strategies with the current challenges of Islamic higher education. The findings show that the strategic plan reflects a progressive vision of religious moderation, but its implementation still faces key challenges, particularly in integrating the vision into teaching, research, and community service, ensuring consistent operational strategies, and strengthening institutional independence. The main contribution of this study lies in highlighting the relationship between strategic planning and the mainstreaming of religious moderation values as a framework for strategic management in Islamic higher education. These findings offer both theoretical insight and policy implications for developing more adaptive, value-based, and sustainable strategic planning in Islamic higher education institutions.

Abstract

Increasing competition among educational institutions has encouraged schools to adopt more strategic approaches in communicating the value of their educational services. Educational marketing is no longer limited to promotional activities; it has become an integral part of how schools build credibility and present the relevance of their programs to prospective students and their families. This study examines how educational service marketing strategies are implemented, how school stakeholders contribute to promotional efforts, and what factors influence prospective students’ interest in vocational education. A qualitative research approach was employed using in-depth interviews, documentation, and field observations to capture the perspectives of individuals involved in school marketing and educational management. The findings show that educational marketing is carried out through a combination of direct outreach activities, such as visits to feeder schools and open house events, alongside the use of social media to broaden information dissemination. These efforts are reinforced by the participation of teachers, alumni, and students who contribute to shaping a credible institutional image. In addition, prospective students’ decisions are influenced by several institutional characteristics, including the clarity of vocational programs, affordable tuition fees, accessible location, alumni experiences, and the availability of practical learning facilities. These findings offer practical implications for educational managers in designing marketing strategies that integrate stakeholder involvement with the strengthening of educational services.
