Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the effectiveness of guidance services in addressing problematic behavior in children with problematic behavior at Gmit 33 Moru 01 Elementary School, Abad District, Alor Regency. The problematic behaviors in question include aggressiveness, rejection of rules, impoliteness, and difficulties in social interaction. The research approach used was a qualitative case study method. The subjects were three fourth-grade students exhibiting problematic behavior at an elementary school. Data were collected through observation, interviews with teachers and parents, and documentation. The results showed that providing individual and group guidance services, involving play counseling techniques, group discussions, and positive reinforcement, can help reduce the intensity of problematic behavior. Consistent guidance and collaboration between teachers, counselors, and parents proved to be key factors in the success of the intervention. This study recommends increasing teachers' capacity to understand and address problematic behavior through appropriate guidance approaches. Problematic behavior in children is a common challenge faced by teachers, parents, and guidance personnel in educational and social settings. Problematic behavior can take the form of aggression, refusal to follow rules, antisocial behavior, or emotional disturbances, which can impact a child's social, academic, and psychological development. Appropriate guidance is an effective intervention to help children understand and manage these behaviors. This study aims to examine the role and methods of guidance in addressing problematic behavior in children.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe tutoring in elementary schools: a description of practice from the perspective of a fourth-grade teacher at SD Negeri 3 Lawahing, based on interviews with an experienced teacher. The main focus of the discussion includes the implementation, objectives, methods, challenges, and evaluation of the tutoring process. Tutoring is seen as an essential part of guidance and counseling services aimed at helping students overcome learning difficulties and improving their academic abilities.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of local languages, especially East Lembur local languages, in traditional rituals and oral traditions that develop in East Lembur Village, Lembur District, Alor Regency. In this community, local language is not only a means of daily communication, but also as a means of connecting with ancestors, a symbol of cultural identity, and as a medium that maintains customs. This research uses a qualitative approach with ethnographic approach methods, interviews and observations of the implementation of traditional rituals and oral traditions in the village. The results showed that local languages have a central role in expressing cultural values, strengthening social ties, and supporting the continuity of traditional rituals in the village of lembur timur.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the meaning of folk songs (Sambolo) in the cultural values of community life in Kopidil Village, Kabola Subdistrict. This research is a qualitative research method with an ethnographic approach. The methods used in this research are interviews and field observations. The results showed that the folk song ‘sambolo’ is one of the cultural heritages that is rich in meaning and values upheld by the Kopidil village community. The sambolo song contains moral messages, ethics, and local wisdom that are still relevant to the lives of Kopidil people today such as (1) Gotong royong and togetherness; (2) Gratitude and love for nature; (3) Respect for parents and ancestors; (4) Hard work and fighting spirit (5) Love and loyalty, courage, and heroism.

Abstract

This research examines the uniqueness of the History and Meaning of Traditional Houses in Moramam Village, Alorbarat Daya District, Alor Regency, The research method used is a qualitative method with an ethnographic approach, which involves direct observation, in-depth interviews with traditional elders, as well as the study of related literature. The results showed that traditional houses in Moramam Village have distinctive architecture that reflects the cultural identity of the Alor community. The building structure consisting of strong wooden pillars symbolises community resilience, while the conical roof reflects the harmonious relationship between humans and nature and ancestors. In addition, the traditional house also functions as a place to hold traditional ceremonies and community deliberations. Thus, the traditional house in Moramam Village is not just a place to live, but also the centre of social and cultural life that has been passed down from generation to generation. This research is expected to be a reference in efforts to preserve traditional houses as part of national cultural wealth. In addition, this research also reveals various challenges in the preservation of traditional houses, including changes in people's lifestyles, the influence of modernisation, and the lack of attention from related parties. Therefore, collaborative efforts between the community, government, and academics are needed to maintain the sustainability of traditional houses as local cultural identities.

Abstract

This study aims to present the traditional feast as a means of learning cultural values in community education in alor kecil village, alor barat laut district, alor district, research data analysis using qualitative descriptive analysis. The data used in the research is qualitative data. Field observation and interview data collection techniques, interviews with Mr Karim Antoni, this traditional party also functions as a medium to strengthen social relations between citizens and provide education to the younger generation about the importance of maintaining local traditions and culture. Activities in the traditional feast, such as traditional rituals, traditional dances, and customary deliberations, become a learning platform that involves all members of the community.Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the traditional feast in Alor Kecil Village is not only part of the tradition, but also functions as a means of cultural education. This traditional feast is effective in instilling cultural values to the community, especially the younger generation, while maintaining the sustainability of local traditions and cultural identity.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the symbolic and social meanings of seng bulu woven fabric used by the community in Pantar Tengah Sub-district, Alor Regency, as part of a rich cultural heritage. Through interviews with craftsmen and direct observation of the fabric-making process, this research reveals that seng bulu fabric not only functions as traditional clothing, but also has a deep symbolic value in the social life of the local community. The fabric is used in various traditional ceremonies, such as weddings and deaths, as well as being a symbol of social status that reflects a close relationship with nature and the community. The motifs found on the seng bulu cloth, such as the large flower motif (nanas Mai) and the small flower motif (nasi laki), have meanings associated with abundance, fertility, harmony and togetherness. In addition, colours such as red and black in this fabric contain symbols of courage, strength, and respect for ancestors. The process of making seng bulu cloth, which involves complex stages from yarn selection to weaving, demonstrates traditional skills and knowledge passed down through generations. The results of this study confirm that seng bulu cloth is not just a textile, but a symbol of cultural identity that continues to be valued and preserved by the people of Pantar.

Abstract

The purpose of this study examines the Symbolic Meaning in the Customary Clothing and Accessories of the Abui Tribe in West Lembur Village, Alor Regency, The research method used is a qualitative approach with observation techniques, in-depth interviews, and literature studies. The results showed that the motifs in the Abui Tribe's woven fabric reflect the community's relationship with nature, ancestors, and traditional values that are upheld. Certain colours in traditional clothing have symbolic meanings related to courage, purity, and wisdom. In addition, accessories such as headbands, beaded necklaces, and metal bracelets have functions not only as decoration, but also as spiritual protection and group identity.Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that this research confirms that the Abui's traditional clothing and accessories are not just cultural products, but also symbolic means of communication that reflect their belief system and social structure. By understanding this symbolic meaning, it is hoped that the cultural heritage of the Abui Tribe can continue to be preserved and appreciated as part of the cultural wealth in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the Lego-Lego Dance in the Takpala Village Community, Alor Engah Utara District, Alor Regency. The method used in this research is qualitative research..., Ethnographic approach, and data collection techniques were carried out in two ways, namely field observations and interviews with Mr Anselmus Yetimau with the results of research showing that the Takpalah Village Community has a symbolic meaning in lego-lego dance movements, namely circular movements in the lego-lego circle contain the meaning of togetherness, unity, and interconnected harmony, The movement of embracing the shoulders or waist in the lego-lego circle contains meaning as a unifier in tying the rope of brotherhood between villagers without seeing each other's background status, men or women, ethnicity, nation, religion, economy and others but supporting each other, shoulder to shoulder and a high spirit of mutual cooperation, The movement of stomping feet in lego-lego dance has a symbolic meaning that describes strength, assertiveness, and high spirits.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the philosophy and cultural values in the architecture of Bang Towo traditional house in Kabola tribe in Alor, East Nusa Tenggara. This research uses qualitative methods. Data analysis techniques are carried out by reducing data, presenting data and drawing conclusions. This research was conducted in Kopidil Village, Kabola District. The informant in this research is the Chief of Adat in Kabola Tribe. The results showed that: Bang Towo Traditional House was established in 2013-2014 and inaugurated in 2015. Bang Towo Traditional House consists of two words, namely the word ‘Bang’ which means village and the word ‘Towo’ which means three. So the word Bang Towo itself means three villages (Uang, Wabuli, Alibang, where the Bang Towo Traditional House is the traditional house of the three villages in Kopidil. Bangtowo not only functions as a place to live but also as a symbol of cultural identity and local wisdom of the Kabola community. This research explores the philosophical meaning behind architectural elements, as well as room patterns that reflect values of togetherness, ancestral beliefs, and harmonious relationships with nature. By understanding this philosophy, this research emphasises the importance of preserving traditional houses as cultural heritage that represents local identity and contains educational and spiritual values that are relevant for today.
