Abstract

This research examines the transformation of worship practices in the digital era, especially in the context of Khatmil Qur'an Online among Muslimat NU Lampung Timur. By applying the concept of Living Qur'an Studies, this research reveals how online Qur'anic Khatmil meetings affect religious experience and social transformation in society. The results highlight that Khatmil Qur'an is not only a religious ritual but also an integral part of religious education, student motivation, and a driver of social integration in rural communities. Using Talal Asad's discursive approach, the analysis shows significant differences between online and offline Khatmil Qur'an practices, with the impact of technology and digital spaces accelerating changes in religious discursive traditions. The research provides a holistic insight into this phenomenon through qualitative research methods involving in-depth interviews and participatory observation studies. The practice of Khatmil Qur'an Online is not just a ritual but also part of an evolving process of religious meaning construction in a non-Arabic society. The success of this practice in embracing technology as a means of worship shows that digital religion is not simply the replacement of traditional ways but rather the integration of technology as an integral part of the religious way of life in the digital era.

Abstract

This study utilizes the social construction theory of Peter L. Berger and Thomas Luckmann to analyze the practices of mujahadah and Qur'an recitation in pesantren. This theory emphasizes that social reality is formed through the processes of externalization, objectivation, and internalization. In the context of pesantren, mujahadah and Qur'an recitation are forms of externalization of the students' religious beliefs, serving as a means to express devotion to Allah and seek inner peace. These practices are then objectified into institutionalized collective rituals, becoming an integral part of the pesantren's social and cultural norms recognized by the entire community. Finally, internalization occurs when students adopt this objectified reality into their consciousness and identity, reflected in their inner peace, increased motivation to learn, and continuous commitment to reading and studying the Qur'an. Through this dialectical process, religious practices not only shape individual identity but also reinforce the social structure of the pesantren. This study demonstrates how the practices of mujahadah and Qur'an recitation in pesantren reflect a complex social construction and how religious values are brought to life and strengthened in the daily lives of the students.

Abstract

Leadership is a fundamental aspect of human civilization and a central theme in Islamic teachings. The Qur'an addresses various dimensions of leadership through terms such as khalīfah, imāmah, and ulū al-amr. This study aims to explore the concept of leadership in Islam by analyzing Qur’anic verse QS. al-Baqarah [2]:30 through the lens of tafsīr maqāṣidī as developed by Abdul Mustaqim, using Tafsīr al-Munīr by Wahbah al-Zuḥaylī as the primary interpretive source. Employing a qualitative library research method, this paper focuses on the linguistic, semantic, and thematic analysis of the verse to uncover ethical and spiritual values embedded in the Qur’anic discourse on leadership. The findings reveal that QS. al-Baqarah [2]:30 offers a comprehensive framework for Islamic leadership rooted in divine trust (amānah) and oriented toward achieving public benefit (maṣlaḥah). Through a maqāṣidī approach, the verse reflects key principles such as environmental stewardship (ḥifẓ al-bī’ah), protection of life (ḥifẓ al-nafs), and intellectual empowerment (ḥifẓ al-‘aql). These dimensions highlight the leader’s responsibility to preserve ecological balance, ensure human dignity, and promote education and critical thinking. The study concludes that Qur’anic leadership transcends political authority, emphasizing moral integrity, accountability, and alignment with the higher objectives of Islamic law. By contextualizing Qur’anic principles within contemporary challenges, this paper contributes to the development of a relevant, ethical, and sustainable model of Islamic leadership.
