Abstract

Abstract

Indonesia has Southeast Asia's second-highest child stunting rate and fifth-highest globally. Malnutrition can cause stunting, especially during the First 1000 Days of Life (HPK). This study aims to investigate the role of the family support unit in preventing stunting in a particular Integrated Service Post in Indonesia. This is a qualitative investigation. This study included 5 participants: family planning cadres, cadres, village midwives, and members with toddlers and expectant mothers. The results of the data analysis indicated the function of companion team families in preventing stunting, particularly for pregnant women and mothers with children. This demonstrates that the duties assigned are appropriate for their positions, as outlined in the Guidelines for Implementing Family Assistance in Efforts to Accelerate Stunting Reduction. The Family Support Team's function is particularly effective in decreasing stunting, especially for pregnant women and mothers with children under two years old who are at risk because stunting rates decrease with assistance. It is expected that there would be more monitoring of the improvement of each cadre's skills in carrying out their tasks and roles by the guidelines so that they can be more optimised in providing support.

Abstract

Background: The increase in the number of global caesarean sections highlights the importance of understanding the postoperative pain experience as well as the factors that influence patient experience after this procedureObjectives: The aim of this scoping review was to identify the best evidence of pain experience in post-sectio caesarean mothers, evaluate the factors that influence patients' experiences of pain after caesarean sections, and identify barriers to dealing with postoperative pain. Methods: Databases were searched from 2019 to 2023 from various databases, including PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Wiley. As well as using search engines such as Google Scholar and Research Rabbit and selecting them using Mendeley assistance. Critical appraisal and data charting are adopted from the JBI checklist, including cross-sectional, cohort, RCT, and quasi-experimental JBI. Of the 870 articles identified, only nine met the criteria. Results: The results of this review identified three themes, including supporting and inhibiting factors for pain management efforts, the implications of post-sectio cesarean pain, and patient characteristics. Conclusions:  Health professionals are advised to implement holistic, evidence-based post-cesarean pain management by combining pharmacological and non-pharmacological methods, supported by improved preoperative education and strict monitoring of analgesic use. An individualized approach and further follow-up studies are essential to optimize maternal recovery and long-term quality of life.

Abstract

Adolescents at SMP Muhdasa Yogyakarta face limited access to continuous reproductive health education due to the lack of a structured platform such as the Adolescent Reproductive Health Information and Counseling Center (PIK-R). Therefore, this community service activity aimed to enhance students’ knowledge and skills in reproductive health and to foster an environment that supports the development of quality adolescents. The program was implemented through a participatory approach focusing on initiating the establishment of a PIK-R based on the principle of “from, by, and for adolescents.” This included comprehensive education and training for prospective peer educators. Evaluation results demonstrated a significant increase in students’ knowledge regarding PIK-R and the role of peer educators, with the percentage of students possessing very good knowledge increasing from 8.43% to 12.05% after the intervention. These findings indicate that health education is effective in improving student understanding and has the potential to form groups capable of addressing adolescent reproductive health issues, creating a positive environment that supports proactive attitudes, and preventing risky sexual behaviors among adolescents at SMP Muhdasa.
