Abstract

Salah satu keunikan masyarakat Madura sampai saat ini adalah konsep kobhung yang menjadi tempat penting untuk aktivitas keagamaan maupun mengawasi aktivitas anggota keluarga. Walaupun ada fungsi lain yaitu fungsi ekonomi maupun sosial yang dimainkan oleh kobhung tersebut. Riset ini membahas peran kobhung di tengah kebudayaan Madura; yang posisinya berada di sebelah Barat (kiblat) taneyanlanjheng (halaman panjang) di setiap permukiman penduduk. Ia berfungsi sebagai pusat aktivitas laki-laki (suami) untuk melakukan transfer nilai religi kepada anak-anak atau isteri mereka. Di sisi lain, ia juga sebagai simbol pengawasan dan kontrol (panopticon) keluar-masuk anggota keluarga, terutama laki-laki (suami) atas perempuan (istri). Hal ini terlegitimasi oleh tradisi patriarkal di masyarakat Madura yang tercermin dalam konsep bhupa’, bhabhu, ghuru, rato sangat kental. Konsep ini merupakan sebuah referential standard kepatuhan masyarakat Madura terhadap figur-figur utama secara hirarkis. Oleh sebab itu, riset ini mengurai dinamika budaya dan upaya istri dalam memposisikan diri mereka di tengah budaya patriarkhi. Riset ini lebih masuk pada jenis kualitatif fenomenologi yang meneropong dinamika relasi suami-istri tersebut melalui peran kobhung. Koleksi data yang digunakan adalah tehnik interview dan observasi; sedangkan analisis data memakai analisis interaktif Miles dan Hubermann. Riset ini menemukan bahwa perempuan di panagguan tidak bisa lepas dari konsep “tri aksi”, antara lain: adhandhan, arembi’, dan amassa’(merawat diri, melahirkan, dan memasak). Konsep ini merupakan wujud dari pengabdian dirinya atas keluarga yang diyakini sebagai kodrat (takdir). Karenanya, mereka sama sekali tidak menggugat; bahkan ia menerima dengan lapang dada tentang perannya di dalam rumah tangga. Kata Kunci: Kobhung, TaneyanLanjheng, Panoptikon One of the uniqueness of the Madurese community until now is the concept of kobhung which has become an important place for religious activities and oversees the activities of family members. Although there are other functions, namely the economic and social functions played by the kobhung. This research discusses the role of kobhung among Madura culture; whose position is in the west (qibla) taneyan lanjheng (long yard) in each residential area. It functions as a center for male (husband) activity to transfer religious values to their children or their wives. On the other hand it functions as a symbol of supervision and control (panopticon) of family members, especially men (husbands) over women (wives). This is legitimized by the patriarchal tradition in the Madurese community which is reflected in the concepts of bhupa’, bhabhu , ghuru, rato that was very thick. This concept is a referential standard of Madurese compliance with hierarchical main figures. Therefore, this research outlines the cultural dynamics and the efforts of the wives in positioning themselves during patriarchal culture. This research is more into the qualitative type of phenomenology that looks at the dynamics of the husband-wife relationship through the role of kobhung. The data collection used was interview and observation techniques; while data analysis used the interactive analysis by Miles and Hubermann. This research found that women in Panagguan cannot be separated from the concept of “three-action”, among others: adhandhan, arembi’, and amassa’ (taking care of themselves, giving birth, and cooking). This concept is a manifestation of the devotion to the family which is believed to be natural (destiny). Therefore, they don’t sue at all; they even received gracefully about their role in the household. Keywords: Kobhung, Taneyan Lanjheng, Panopticon

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has a major influence on Indonesia's education system. The enactment of Merdeka Belajar or freedom to learn as the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia's regulation is quickly gaining ground due to this pandemic. This paper presents the results of an investigation into the educational trend at an Indonesian high school during the mid-COVID-19 crisis. In this case study, online semi-structured interviews were used. The results indicate that during the COVID-19 pandemic the Merdeka Belajar strategy has been enacted by improving the technological training mechanism available to schools. The first step is to develop the school's internal curriculum through Kampus Merdeka policy and introduce COVID 19 prevention protocols in schools. The second strategy is empowering web-based teaching integration and online asynchronous education.

Abstract

This research focuses on the process of establishing the Academic hardiness of the Aisyiyah Boarding School (ABM) high school students during the COVID-19 pandemic. As a form of one's firmness in facing academic challenges during the pandemic, Academic hardiness has an important position to be studied comprehensively and in-depth, especially in terms of students' academic resilience as study subjects. This research is based on Kobasa's Academic Hardiness Theory (AHT) and uses a qualitative approach to obtain descriptive data, observable behavior, and verbal data. Data collection methods used non-participant observation techniques, virtual interviews, and documentation studies. The data collected was then analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana. The conclusion of this research states that the academic hardiness of ABM students is formed through habituation activities in Islamic education. Empirically, the three cognitive evaluation processes (commitment, control, and challenge) are related to students' persistence when dealing with difficult e-learning designs. The implication of the results of the analysis of the process of forming the academic hardiness of students at ABM is the birth of new creations in improving the quality of Islamic education learning through optimizing the cognitive evaluation process of students.

Abstract

In the ideal level, Islamic education must touch on 3 (three) aspects. "Knowing" realm understanding value Islamic religion, "doing" realm practicing the values Islamic religion, "being" go through a period of life following values Islamic religion. However, the development of the 21-st Century, which provides open access to all information from cyberspace, has not been fully implemented in the field of Islamic education so that it gives a challenge for the world of Islamic education in implementing the concept of "being" optimally in the process of learning. This article aims to describe and analyze the development of the Islamic education curriculum through 3 (three) approaches: multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary, and transdisciplinary. This article uses a qualitative approach to the type of literature study research. A literature study that is in line with the research theme leads this research to the conclusion. First, the Common Core State Standards (Kurikulum Inti) emerge as a form of balance standardization between the aspects of ideal learning and skills needs in the 21st-century. Second, the difference between multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary, and transdisciplinary approaches lies in the "starting point" of each approach. Multidisciplinary emerge as the form of concepts and skills desired by each discipline (explicitly), interdisciplinary in the form of shared concepts and skills, as long as a scientific discipline (implicitly) and transdisciplinary in the form of real reality in life where students being both subject and object in gaining that knowledge. Third, the similarity between multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary approaches lies to balance between accountability, relevance, and development of the 21st-century; all three are integral parts of the Core Curriculum; all three involve more than one scientific discipline in discussing a theme/issue and; all three have aspects of evaluation/assessment during the learning process.

Abstract

This research focuses on the socio-cultural transformation of Muhammadiyah and Nahdlatul Ulama’ (NU) communities in the prismatic communities of East Java (i.e., Jember, Bondowoso, and Lumajang). This condition cannot be separated from transforming various sectors in people’s lives that make it a prismatic (transitional) society. Therefore, this research seeks to find and understand the basic framework for the socio-cultural transformation of Muhammadiyah and NU communities in society. From the unit of analysis, this study uses a qualitative approach with ethnographic research, while the data collection techniques use in-depth interviews, participatory observations, field notes, and documentation. This research uses interactive data analysis by Miles, Huberman, and Saldana. This research finds that Muhammadiyah and NU communities have relatively different characteristics. In these three districts, members of Muhammadiyah and NU tend to be stagnant and unaffected by their various oppositional organizational doctrines. However, their socio-cultural transformation occurs triggered by external and internal factors dialectically related to themselves. The implication is that the modernist corporate identity attached to Muhammadiyah and the traditional community identity to NU is relatively irrelevant, especially when there is a progressive and alternating socio-cultural transformation between the two communities.

Abstract

This research focused on the collaboration-convergence construction of Freire’s liberating education and Islamic education systems. These two systems are integrated into a single dimension of education that has spiritual roots. Therefore, this research tries to analyze Paulo Freire’s educational thinking, which is elaborated, collaborated, converged, and integrated with Islamic education’s theological and philisophical values. This research approach uses a qualitative type of literature study, so it tended to use documentation techniques in collecting its data. The data in this research were analyzed using the interactive analysis of Miles, Hubermann and Saldana. With this method, this research can be more detailed and comprehensive to understand and interpret Freire’s liberation education thinking and Islamic education. This research finds that Freire's education system has an axiological basis of secular humanism that can be collaborated and converged with the values of transcendental humanism in Islamic education. From this collaboration-convergence process, an education system has been created. It has an ontological basis and is integrated with theological values. It is also an axiological dimension of trancendental humanism. This education system has a mission to realize transcendental humanism in the educational process so that this system can be referred to as participatory-trancendental education.

Abstract

Riset ini memfokuskan pada respon kelembagaan pesantren dalam membangun kesesuaian mutu kependidikan dengan perkembangan kebutuhan masyarakat. Di dalamnya terdapat fenomena upaya membangun mutu kependidikan pesantren di dalam bingkai Total Quality Management (TQM). Oleh karenanya, riset ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif untuk mendeskripsikan kerangka dasar tata kelola mutu pendidikan pesantren. Data riset ini diperoleh dari sumber-sumber kepustakaan yang dianalisis menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif analitis. Riset ini menemukan bahwa mutu pendidikan pesantren perlu disesuaikan dengan laju perkembangan kebutuhan masyarakat secara terus menerus. Pola ini menjadikan pucuk pimpinan (kiai) berada di bawah yang menjadi melayani pimpinan yang berada di level menengah; dan pimpinan menengah juga melayani ustadz/ustadzah, dan ustadz/ustadzah harus melayani kebutuhan santrinya. Bahkan, pesantren perlu melakukan perbaikan berkesinambungan malalui siklus PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) yang dikenal dengan lingkaran Deming. Siklus ini terdiri dari langkah-langkah perencanaan, pelaksanaan rencana, pemeriksaan hasil pelaksanaan rencana, dan tindakan korektif terhadap hasil yang diperoleh.

Abstract

This research is developed on the basis of analytical construction focusing on two ideologies in Islam, namely Sunni, and Shi’ite. These two mainstreams of school of thoughts often create social conflict in the region of Puger. This research attempts to offer practical solutions. To explore deep understanding, a phenomenological approach involves eight participants, consisting of religious leaders, government officials, and community leaders. An in-depth interviews is used for the main data collection, such as the interview protocol instrument. All data are analyzed by data reduction theory, starting with identifying, determining, and narrating. This study has found that there are some factors trigger the conflict between two groups in the region of Puger including religious sect differences, rivalry existence in pesantren (Islamic boarding school), provocateurs, and allegations of discrimination against particular ideologies. Additionally, this study also affirms that there are other ideologies involved in this conflict. This study suggests intensive communication among the communities in the region of Puger, Jember, East Java, could potentially reduce the issues. Abstract

Through transformational leadership, pesantren are able to make institutional changes to achieve success. Because this leadership style can build a strong organizational culture for the effectiveness of Islamic education in pesantren. Therefore, KHMA in PNIA is very effective in carrying out the construction of pesantren culture and shapes the behavior of all pesantren human resources. Therefore, this research uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological type; which aims to identify and analyze the kiai's transformational leadership style in building an organizational culture in pesantren. The theoretical framework used to analyze the dynamics of the kiai's leadership is the paradigm of Bass & Riggio. He divided the four dimensions of transformational leadership, i.e: idealized influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual motivation, and individual consideration. This research found KHMA constructs pesantren culture by taking from the thoughts of ulama' salaf which are contained in the book of salaf -which is commonly called Kitab Kuning. On the one hand, the effectiveness of KHMA's self-leadership in PNIA is also inseparable from the normative doctrinal values of Islam, so that the kiai's leadership style is based on Islamic values. The implication is that the construction of organizational culture ranging from a philosophical framework to the practical values of pesantren needs to be bound by the basis of social-religious transformation. Abstract

Abstract Pesantren (Islamic boarding schools) has been continuously aligning its educational system with the needs of society and the times. The development of pesantren is inseparable from the role of kiai in carrying out the institutional transformation. This study focuses on transformational leadership of the kiai in developing the pesantren institution. The results of this study indicate that the concept of developing pesantren is transcultural with the principle of "accepting a new good culture and preserving the old one that is still relevant", based on the vision and mission, directed at an integrative education system which combines the mind and heart traditions using rational domain and spirituality in order to achieve worldly (profanistic) and ukhrawi (sacralistic) goals; transformational leadership styles of a kiai include idealized influence behavior, inspirational inspiration, intellectual stimulation, individual consideration, and individual spiritual greatness; and the implications of transformational leadership include two dimensions, namely the human resources and institutional resources. Therefore, this leadership can be said to be prophetic transformational leadership with the addition of individual spiritual greatness (Five I'S). Pengembangan pesantren tidak terlepas dari peran kiai dalam melakukan transformasi kelembagaan. Penelitian ini memfokuskan pada kepemimpinan transformasional kiai dalam mengembangkan kelembagaan pesantren. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa konsep pengembangan pesantren bersifat transkultural dengan prinsip “menerima budaya baru yang baik dan melestarikan budaya lama yang masih relevan”, berpijak pada visi dan misi, diarahkan pada sistem pendidikan integratif yang memadukan antara tradisi akal dan hati menggunakan domain rasional dan spiritualitas untuk mencapai tujuan yang bersifat duniawi (profanistik) dan ukhrawi (sakralistik); gaya kepemimpinan transformasional kiai meliputi perilaku idealized influence, inspirational inspiration, intellectual stimulation, individual consideration, dan individual spiritual greatness; dan implikasi kepemimpinan transformasional meliputi dua dimensi, yaitu dimensi sumberdaya manusia dan kelembagaan. Karenanya, kepemimpinan ini dapat dikatakan kepemimpinan transformasional profetik dengan penambahan individual spiritual greatness (Five I’S).
