Abstract

Violence has become a concerning fact in the world of education. Education as a social arena that is expected to be an example of a non-violent environment actually shows the opposite indication. Based on the results of the observation, SMA Negeri 1 Majene was determined as the target of the socialization. This is also related to the agreement of the university-level community service team to focus activities in Majene Regency. The activity took place on May 11, 2024 in a classroom of a partner school. This activity targeted teachers. The participants who attended were teachers from various subject backgrounds. This variation is an added value of the forum in interpreting bullying from various perspectives. In general, teachers understand the meaning of bullying. However, they are less aware of how bullying practices operate in the school arena to the interpersonal level. The daily lives of students and teachers such as joking or teasing are still seen as normal habits that have no adverse effects on someone who is bullied. In fact, the practice of bullying causes psychological problems, which can interfere with the development of those who are bullied, especially among students. After this activity, it is hoped that teachers will become creative agents who spread inclusive values in the school environment. In addition, the community service team also hopes that with this activity, bullying practices will not occur in the school environment, especially in partner schools.

Abstract

PKM di Desa Barania Kecamatan Sinjai Barat Kabupaten Sinjai ini, dilakukan dengan memberikan materi sosialisasi bagi penerima manfaat PKH. Sosialisasi dilakukan bertujuan untuk: 1) meningkatkan pengetahuan penerima manfaat PKH terkait pentingnya literasi dalam keluarga; 2) peserta dapat mengimplementasikan gerakat literasi di dalam keluarga; 3) peserta dapat menyebarluaskan pengetahuan tentang literasi di lingkungan keluarga dan lingkungan sosial. Sasaran utama PKM ini adalah Ibu Rumah Tangga penerima manfaat PKH di Desa Barania Kecamatan Sinjai Barat Kabupaten Sinjai. Hasil yang didapatkan dari kegiatan PKM ini yaitu meningkatnya pengetahuan peserta terkait pentingnya gerakan literasi dilakukan mulai dari unit terkecil dalam masyarakat yaitu keluarga, meningkatnya pemahaman peserta untuk mengimplemantasikan materi sosialisasi di dalam keluarga, dan peserta dapat menyebarluaskan gerakan literasi dalam keluarga yang dapat dilakukan dengan metode sederhana kepada anggota keluarga dan lingkungan sosial sekitar. Luaran dari kegiatan PKM ini yaitu; 1) meningkatnya pengetahuan peserta terkait materi sosialisasi yang disampaikan; 2) artikel ilmiah yang dipublikasikan pada jurnal nasional; 3) publikasi kegiatan PKM GLK pada media online.

Abstract

Social inclusion has become a crucial issue to advocate for, especially in a diverse country like Indonesia, which frequently faces violence and exclusive treatment. Norms such as Pancasila and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika serve as a glue for diversity, yet tensions among citizens still exist. Schools play a strategic role in disseminating inclusive values from an early age, but challenges such as bullying, violence, and harassment persist. Therefore, it is vital to make schools arenas for practicing social inclusion, which not only fosters acceptance of differences but also addresses issues of violence. The implementation of social inclusion in schools must go beyond mere actions; it is a commitment to creating an environment that welcomes all students, regardless of background. Inclusive education helps reduce stereotypes, enhances empathy, and strengthens social skills. Schools that adopt this principle open opportunities for meaningful learning, improve emotional well-being and help shape future leaders who are sensitive to diversity. This implementation requires collaboration among teachers, students, parents, and the community, as well as support from inclusive policies. With concrete steps, social inclusion can strengthen the foundation of a more just, diverse, and equitable society.

Abstract

This study investigates the complex challenges faced by communities surrounding Tempe Lake, primarily driven by environmental, socio-economic, and institutional factors that threaten their livelihoods. The recurrent flooding, occurring twice a year, disrupts agricultural production and fishing activities, while the degradation of natural resources due to overfishing, pollution, and deforestation further exacerbates vulnerabilities. The primary objective of this research is to identify and examine the livelihood resources available to these communities, focusing on their natural, human, financial, social, and physical assets. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, utilizing in-depth interviews, observations, and literature reviews to gather comprehensive data on the community's livelihood strategies and challenges. The findings reveal that the residents of Tempe Lake exhibit remarkable resilience, relying on a combination of traditional knowledge and adaptive practices to navigate their environmental challenges. The study highlights the importance of social networks and trust within the community, which facilitate collaboration and mutual support during crises. Additionally, it underscores the critical role of the lake's resources in sustaining both economic stability and cultural identity. However, the research also identifies significant gaps in education and access to financial services, which limit the community's ability to diversify their livelihoods and improve their overall well-being. The results emphasize the need for targeted interventions, including financial literacy programs, sustainable resource management practices, and disaster preparedness training, to enhance the resilience of the Tempe Lake communities. Ultimately, this study contributes to a deeper understanding of the interplay between livelihoods and environmental sustainability, offering valuable insights for policymakers and stakeholders aiming to support these vulnerable populations.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan informasi mengenai; (1) faktor penyebab masalah dalam penyaluran bantuan sembako di Desa Barembeng Kecamatan Bontonompo Kabupaten Gowa. (2) upaya pemerintah menyelesaikan masalah dalam penyaluran bantuan sembako di Desa Barembeng Kecamatan Bontonompo Kabupaten Gowa. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif, dengan metode pengumpulan data yaitu observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Adapun informan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik purpose sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) faktor penyebab masalah dalam penyaluran bantuan sembako di Desa Barembeng Kecamatan Bontonompo Kabupaten Gowa yaitu : a) pendataan, b) Kurangnya kesadaran penerima manfaat, c) sumber daya finansial, d) sosialisasi, e) komunikasi. (2) Upaya Pemerintah menyelesaikan masalah dalam penyaluran bantuan sembako di Desa Barembeng Kecamatan Bontonompo Kabupaten Gowa yaitu ; (a) melakukan survey lapangan, (b) melakukan sosialisasi kepada masyarakat.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini, bertujuan untuk mengkaji tindakan yang dilakukan perempuan dalam merespon perubahan lingkungan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Data primer merupakan hasil wawancara, observasi, pendokumentasian, dan data sekunder yakni data-data yang didapatkan dari instansi pemerintahan, media daring, serta jurnal. Hasil penelitian, menunjukkan pencirian ekofeminisme yang dilakukan perempuan pengumpul limbah pabrik PT. Semen Bosowa Maros yakni; kesadaran perempuan terkait limbah yang merusak lingkungan serta mempertahankan kultur menanam.

Abstract

The planned reclamation of Lae-Lae Island undoubtedly poses a threat to the marine ecosystem and the livelihoods of the surrounding fishing communities. This research aims to depict the dynamics of spatial contestation arising from this situation. To elucidate these dynamics, the researcher employs Henri Lefebvre's sociology of space and Edward Soja's geographical imagination. Utilizing a qualitative descriptive approach, data were gathered through observation, interviews, and documentation involving twenty-three informants. Findings reveal the dynamics of spatial contestation on Lae-Lae Island, including the emergence of spatial awareness as a socio-economic arena and the mobilization of resources from both the island community and external parties. Internal mobilization, led by community leaders, actively fosters solidarity among residents in rejecting the reclamation, while external resource mobilization involves actors from environmental organizations, media, and academia. The research concludes that community resistance stems from the direct implications of reclamation on residents' living space and livelihoods, particularly those of fishermen. The integration of Henri Lefebvre's sociological analysis and Edward Soja's geographical imagination provides a fresh perspective on social movement phenomena and spatial contestation.

Abstract

Cocoa is one of Indonesia's key horticultural commodities with significant export potential, particularly in South Sulawesi. However, in recent years, cocoa production has declined due to land conversion, price fluctuations, limited access to agricultural inputs, and poor farming practices. This study examines the empowerment of cocoa farmer groups in Maliwowo Village, East Luwu Regency, to understand whether these interventions genuinely enhance farmers’ welfare or primarily serve corporate interests. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, this research draws on primary data from farmers and secondary data from government sources. Findings reveal that empowerment initiatives—led by the East Luwu Agriculture Office and PT Mars—have improved farmers' productivity, income, and access to resources through training, input provision, and financial support. However, these interventions also establish a subtle form of control over farmers' practices through knowledge dissemination and structured policies. Employing Michel Foucault’s theory of power and Anthony Giddens’ structuration theory, this study explores the interplay between institutional power and farmers' agency in shaping agricultural practices. While empowerment efforts enhance economic well-being by increasing yields, strengthening market networks, and improving social welfare through gender inclusion and access to capital, they also impose external expectations on farming practices. The study highlights the dual nature of empowerment: while it provides economic opportunities and social benefits, it also integrates farmers into a structured system that dictates best practices and compliance with global standards. Ultimately, sustainable cocoa production in Indonesia requires a balance between corporate, governmental, and farmer-driven initiatives to ensure long-term benefits for smallholder farmers while preserving their autonomy.

Abstract

Kekerasan seksual terhadap anak merupakan isu yang semakin mengkhawatirkan dan dapat terjadi di berbagai lingkungan, termasuk di sekolah dasar. Minimnya pengetahuan anak mengenai bentuk, dampak, serta cara pencegahan kekerasan seksual menjadikan mereka rentan menjadi korban. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa Sekolah Dasar UPT SPF SD Inpres Cambayya 1 terkait kekerasan seksual melalui pendekatan edukatif yang interaktif dan sesuai usia. Metode yang digunakan meliputi ceramah, diskusi kelompok, pemutaran video edukatif, serta penggunaan alat peraga visual yang mudah dipahami anak. Kegiatan ini juga melibatkan guru dan pihak sekolah secara aktif sebagai mitra dalam menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang aman dan mendukung. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman siswa mengenai jenis-jenis kekerasan seksual dan tindakan pencegahan yang dapat dilakukan. Selain itu, kegiatan ini membangun kesadaran kolektif untuk bersama-sama menja ga dan melindungi anak dari bahaya kekerasan seksual. Program edukasi ini diharapkan dapat menjadi model bagi sekolah dasar lainnya dalam upaya perlindungan anak di lingkungan pendidikan..

Abstract

This program aims to instill and develop good values in order to humanize humans, to improve character and train the intellectuals of students, and also to create a knowledgeable generation with character that can provide benefits to the surrounding environment. The important points taught to students are: (1) Education of faith/belief; to produce a young generation of the future who are strong in imtaq. (2) Education of worship; to be taught to children in order to create a young generation who have commitment and are accustomed to carrying out worship, such as praying, fasting, and reading the Koran. (3) Education of akhlakul karimah; to produce a rabbani generation, or a generation that is pious, intelligent and has noble morals. The methods used in this activity are lecture and practice methods. This activity takes place for 7 days during the month of Ramadan at SMA 09 Makassar City. The results of the activity show the high spirit and enthusiasm of students in following the entire series of learning until the end of the Ramadhan Mengaji Program. Through the method of practicing ablution, praying, and reading the Quran, students can strengthen their faith and have Islamic morals among other students. Abstract.
