Abstract

This study aims to explore the geometric and cultural concepts embedded within the architecture of the Tiban Mosque in Malang regency, assessing their potential as an ethnomathematical learning medium. Through a qualitative ethnographic approach, this research gathered descriptive data from key informants including residents visiting students, mosque officials, and an ornaments craftsman. The study reveals that the Tiban Mosque, a prominent religious tourism site, embodies rich cultural and mathematical concepts. Its architectural elements reflect a blend of Chinese, Indian, and Arabic cultural influences, while the mathematical aspects encompass various geometric principles, including flat shapes, spatial forms, and geometric transformations. These findings suggest that the Tiban Mosque offers a valuable ethnomathematical learning medium, particularly for geometry concepts relevant to secondary education levels. Furthermore, this study highlights how exploring ethnomathematics can cultivate appreciation and foster cultural preservation in the Malang regency.

Abstract

Matematika adalah pelajaran yang banyak menggunakan logika dan memerlukan ketajamanotak. Orang tua harus mulai mengenalkan konsep dasar tentang matematika sejak dini.Permasalahan yang sering muncul adalah bagaimana cara mengenalkan matematika kepada anaksejak dini. Permasalahan ini pula yang dialamai oleh siswa dan orang tua di Paud Cahaya Bundadan Paud Laskar Bintang yang berlokasi di Desa Mulyoagung Kecamatan Dau KabupatenMalang. Pengabdian masyarakat ini menekankan pada penerapan ilmu pengetahuan danteknologi untuk meningkatkan kemampuan dan pemahaman ibu-dan siswa dalam hal pengenalanberbagai alat peraga matematika. Kegiatan ini memberikan manfaat bagi kelompok mitra di PaudCahaya Bunda dan Paud Laskar Bintang sehingga memperoleh pengetahuan tentang pentingnyamengenalkan aneka bangun datar dan bangun ruang.Kata Kunci: balita, logika, bangun datar, bangun ruang

Abstract

Pengadian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan minat belajar siswa SMP Al Inayah dan SMP Islam pada materi statistik melalui pelatihan penggunaan media bola – bola statistik. Subyek pengabdian adalah siswa SMP Al Inayah Purwosari dan SMP Islam Purwosari, Pasuruan. Proses pelaksanaan pengabdian dibagi menjadi 4 tahap yaitu observasi, perencanaan dan persiapan, pelaksanaan ,dan evaluasi. Tahap observasiberfokus pada mencari masalah prioritas mitra serta solusinya.Tahap perencanaan dilakukan dengan penentuan jadwal pelaksanaan, kelas subjek pelatihan, dan diskusi solusi yang dipilih dengan mitra untuk melihat kesesuain solusi. Evaluasi hasil dilakukan dengan menganalisis hasil pekerjaan siswa pada soal lanjutan dan proses presentasi. Berdasarkan hasil pelaksanaan diketahui bahwa:1) Penggunaan media bola-bola statistik dapat meningkatkan minat belajar peserta pelatihan, 2) penggunaan media bola-bola statistik dapat meningkatkan pemahaman peserta pelatihan pada mean, median, dan modus, 3) guru matematika kelas yang turut serta mengobservasi jalannya pelatihan sangat tetarik dengan penggunaan media pembelajaran berbahan murah seperti bola-bola statistik.

Abstract

Rendahnya literasi numerasi dini dan munculnya kecemasan matematika pada anak menjadi masalah utama yang melatarbelakangi kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini. Tujuan yang dikaji adalah untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep penjumlahan secara mendalam melalui pengalaman multisensori yang menyenangkan. Metodologi pengabdian menggunakan kombinasi metode Pendidikan Masyarakat dan Pelatihan. Populasi kegiatan ini adalah siswa TK B dengan sampel sebanyak 24 siswa. Teknik yang digunakan adalah model pembelajaran  Bola Joget, sebuah inovasi pembelajaran di luar ruangan yang mengintegrasikan musik, gerak kinestetik, dan penggunaan media benda nyata sebagai alat manipulatif. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan tingkat ketercapaian target sebesar 100%, di mana siswa mampu mengonstruksikan pemahaman angka ke dalam kuantitas benda nyata dengan akurat. Hasil observasi mengonfirmasi peningkatan mindful, meaningful, dan joyful siswa selama proses belajar. Rekomendasi yang diajukan adalah agar pendidik PAUD mulai mengadopsi metode pembelajaran berbasis aktivitas fisik dan benda konkret untuk membangun fondasi numerasi yang kuat tanpa tekanan psikologis. Model ini juga berpotensi dikembangkan menjadi standar operasional prosedur dalam kurikulum transisi PAUD ke Sekolah Dasar.

Abstract

Vocational high school students' numeracy skills in financial statement topics remain relatively low due to the limited availability of contextual teaching materials and the lack of learning activities that actively engage students in solving real-world problems. This study aimed to develop a Problem-Based Learning (PBL)-based Student Worksheet (LKPD) on financial statement materials to support the improvement of students' numeracy skills at SMKS Maarif NU 4 Pakis. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE development model, which consists of the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The research participants were eleventh-grade students at SMKS Maarif NU 4 Pakis. The research instruments included expert validation sheets, student response questionnaires, and a numeracy skills test. The data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative techniques based on percentage scores to evaluate the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the developed product. The results showed that the developed worksheet achieved a validity score of 94%, categorized as very valid, a practicality score of 81.26%, categorized as very practical, and a learning mastery level of 81.48% in the large-scale field trial. These findings indicate that the developed PBL-based Student Worksheet (LKPD) met the criteria of validity, practicality, and effectiveness according to the indicators used in this study. Therefore, it is suitable for use as instructional material to support the learning of financial statement topics and to enhance students' numeracy skills.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using digital flipbooks in improving students' scientific literacy in fourth-grade science at SDN Gadang 4 Malang. This study used the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method, implemented in two cycles, including planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects were 28 fourth-grade B students, selected purposively due to their low scientific literacy skills. Data collection techniques included observation, pretests and posttests, documentation, and student response questionnaires. The results showed that the use of digital flipbooks was effective in improving students' scientific literacy. In Cycle I, the percentage increase in learning outcomes reached 49.34%, with a learning completion rate of 78.57%. In Cycle II, the improvement in learning outcomes increased to 82.67%, and students demonstrated more active learning participation. The paired sample t-test results showed a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05), indicating a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores. Furthermore, students' responses to the use of digital flipbooks were very positive, as learning became more engaging, interactive, and easier to understand. Thus, digital flipbooks have been proven effective in improving students' scientific literacy in fourth-grade science lessons.

Abstract

Mathematics learning in elementary schools should ideally be active, meaningful, and student-centered, thus fostering critical thinking skills in understanding and analyzing information. However, learning conditions in grade IV of SDN 4 Gadang, Malang City, indicate that mathematics learning on data presentation is still dominated by lectures and practice exercises, resulting in students being less active in discussions, processing data, and drawing conclusions. The study subjects consisted of 29 students, consisting of 15 boys and 14 girls. Initial observations showed that boys tended to be active during discussions but were less thorough in processing data, while girls were more thorough but still lacked confidence in expressing their opinions. These conditions resulted in low student learning outcomes, with an average pre-cycle score of 45.86 and learning completion of 0%. This study aimed to improve critical thinking skills and student learning outcomes through the implementation of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model. The study used the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method, modeled after Kemmis and McTaggart, which was implemented in two cycles. The results showed that the implementation of Project Based Learning was able to improve student learning outcomes and critical thinking skills. The average score increased to 67.24 in Cycle I and 78.45 in Cycle II, with a learning completion percentage of 89.7%. The average N-Gain of 0.63 is considered moderate. Thus, Project-Based Learning is able to create more active, collaborative, and meaningful learning, thereby optimally developing students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Kemampuan berpikir kritis merupakan salah satu kompetensi abad ke-21 yang perlu dikembangkan pada pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di sekolah dasar. Namun, hasil observasi awal di kelas III SDN Gadang 4 Kota Malang menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi teks wawancara masih rendah. Siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam mengidentifikasi masalah, merumuskan pertanyaan, mengumpulkan informasi, menganalisis hasil wawancara, dan menarik kesimpulan karena pembelajaran masih didominasi oleh metode yang berpusat pada guru. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa melalui penerapan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) melalui kegiatan wawancara. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) model Kemmis dan McTaggart yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, yaitu tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah 27 siswa kelas III SDN Gadang 4 Kota Malang pada semester genap Tahun Pelajaran 2026/2027. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes, observasi, dan dokumentasi, sedangkan analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa meningkat dari 65,5% pada Siklus I menjadi 85,7% pada Siklus II. Nilai rata-rata hasil belajar meningkat dari 59,89 pada pretest menjadi 81,30 pada posttest, sedangkan persentase ketuntasan belajar meningkat dari 25,93% menjadi 100%. Dengan demikian, penerapan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) melalui kegiatan wawancara efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas III SDN Gadang 4 Kota Malang.

Abstract

Creativity is an important skill that needs to be developed starting in elementary school. However, initial observations in the third-grade class at SDN Gadang 4 in Malang indicate that students’ creativity in the subjects of Physical Geography and Occupations remains low. Students tend to be passive, lack confidence in expressing their ideas, and struggle to produce original work. This study aims to describe the implementation of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model aided by Pop-Up Book media and to determine the increase in student creativity. The study used a two-cycle Classroom Action Research (CAR) method with 27 third-grade students as subjects. Data were collected through observation using a rubric that included indicators of fluency, originality, elaboration, and flexibility. The results showed that the class-wide achievement rate increased from 37.5% in Cycle I to 92.6% in Cycle II, with an average creativity score of 14.04 out of 16 (87.75%). Improvements were observed across all creativity indicators, particularly fluency, originality, elaboration, and flexibility. Thus, the Pop-Up Book assisted PjBL model is effective in enhancing students’ creativity in IPAS learning.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has driven the transformation of mathematics learning using social media as a more flexible and interactive learning environment. However, the use of social media in mathematics learning is still largely focused on information distribution and has not been specifically designed to develop pre-service mathematics teachers’ mathematical creative thinking skills. This study aims to develop Instagram-based interactive microlearning on vector material in Linear Algebra courses and analyze its validity, practicality, and effectiveness in improving pre-service mathematics teachers’ mathematical creative thinking skills based on the aspects of fluency, flexibility, and originality. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model which includes the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The subjects were pre-service mathematics teachers of the Mathematics Education Study Program consisting of 10 pre-service mathematics teachers in the small group trial and 20 pre-service mathematics teachers in the extended field trial. Data were collected through expert validation sheets, student response questionnaires, and mathematical creative thinking skills tests. The results showed that the developed media met the very valid category based on the assessments of media experts (3.50), material experts (3.58), and an instructional design expert (3.83). The practicality test results obtained an average score of 3.59 in the small group and 3.55 in the large group, categorized as very practical. The effectiveness evaluation results showed that 90% of pre-service mathematics teachers achieved the expected level of mathematical creative thinking skills. Analysis of each indicator showed that flexibility achieved the highest percentage of 90%, while fluency and originality each reached 75%. These findings indicate that the integration of Instagram as an interactive microlearning environment can facilitate pre-service mathematics teachers in exploring various mathematical problem-solving strategies. Thus, Instagram-based interactive microlearning can be a potential digital learning innovation to improve pre-service mathematics teachers’ mathematical creative thinking skills in abstract mathematical concepts.
