Abstract

Musculoskeletal disorder has related to ergonomics. Musculoskeletal disorders are caused by the habit of working position of farmers in carrying out their activities such as lifting or carrying heavy loads, doing repetitive movements and habits of wrong positions at work. The study purposed to identify the percentage of musculoskkeletal disorders and work position on citrus farmers in Sukoreno village, Umbulsari district, Jember. This study used a quantitative approach with 116 farmers using simple random sampling method. The questionnaire used in this study was the Nordic body map to determine musculoskeletal disorders and the Upper Extermity Work Demand Scale Revision (UEWD-R) to determine the habits of farmer's work position. The results showed that 60 farmers (51.7%) had high levels of musculoskeletal disorders and work position when harvesting citrus fruits had the highest average of 70.95% with a maximum value of 24. musculoskeletal disorders felt by Citrus farmers were caused by the work done manually with a long duration of time and requires excessive physical ability so that the impact of muscles that contract during work will caused pain in some of limbs.

Abstract

A ward nurse is a practitioner nurse who takes action according to standard operatingprocedures and prevention and identifies the state of the environment for 24 hours. Theworkload can lead to the emergence of attitudes that become complaints of patients,namely the emotional instability of nurses because of fatigue and high activity. Theimpact of ethical dilemmas experienced by nurses, one of which is the emotional impacton nurses such as anger, stress, frustration, and fear during the decision-making process.The research design is qualitative research with a phenomenological approach thataims to explore nurses’ perceptions and experiences of the ethical dilemma of nursingin the inpatient ward. A total of six participants involved in this study were selected bypurposive sampling technique. Participants were the practitioner nurses in the inpatientward of the Baladhika Husada Hospital in Jember. Colaizzi analysis method is used toconclude this study. The results obtained by five main themes: nurse knowledge andunderstanding, forms of ethical dilemmas experienced by nurses, ethical dilemmas relatedto ethical principles, actions when experiencing ethical dilemmas, and expectations fornurses. Continuing education regarding nurse ethical dilemmas in the implementationof professional nursing care is crucial to improve the quality of nurse performance whendelivering nursing care.

Abstract

Tindakan operasi yang dilakukan dapat menyebabkan kecemasan terhadap pasien maupun keluarga. Kecemasan yang dihadapi dapat mempengaruhi si pasien dan keluarga dalam mempersiapkan tindakan operasi. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengidentifikasi komunikasi terapiutik perawat dengan tingkat kecemasan keluarga pasien sebelum operasi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dengan desain korelasional dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Sampel dalam penelitian ini yaitu 101 responden dengan teknik sampling accidental sampling. Hasil penelitian ini didapatkan komunikasi terapeutik perawat mayoritas cukup sebesar 59,4%, tingkat kecemasan keluarga pasien yaitu mayoritas kecemasan ringan sebesar 46,5%, dan ada hubungan yang cukup dan searah antara komunikasi terapeutik dengan tingkat kecemasan keluarga pasien pre operasi dengan nilai p=0,000 (p<0,05). Peran perawat dalam mempersiapkan pasien atau keluarga sangatlah penting dalam persiapan operasi. Termasuk dalam menyiapkan keluarga terkait mental dan tingkat kecemasan keluarga. Peran rumah sakit juga penting untuk peningkatan komunikasi terapiutik perawat dengan selalu update keilmuan dan mengadakan pelatihan untuk mempersiapkan perawat atau petugas medis lainnya agar lebih kompeten dalam berkomunikasi.

Abstract

Chronic kidney failure is a chronic disease caused by an unhealthy diet and lifestyle and a lack of exercise. One of the management of chronic kidney failure is hemodialysis. The purpose of the study was to describe the patient's compliance in carrying out hemodialysis. The research method used a descriptive research design to describe adherence to hemodialysis. The research sample was hospital patients in the Jember area, with a total of 94 patients. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling with data collection techniques using questionnaires. Respondent data shows that most of the respondents are male (65.9%), the age of respondents is in the range of 41-50 years (40.6%), high school education (53.2%), and self-employed (42.55%). From these data, most respondents were obedient to hemodialysis (85.1%). Compliance with hemodialysis patients can reduce the risk of death in patients. Therefore, observation is undergoing hemodialysis is an essential thing that hemodialysis patients must do.

Abstract

Introduction: Clean and Healthy Living Behavior is one of the government programs that aims to encourage people to increase knowledge and apply healthier life behaviors in various workplace settings. This study aims to describe the clean and healthy living behavior of farmers in the workplace setting. Methods: This study uses an observational quantitative method with a descriptive-analytical research design and a cross-sectional study approach. The sampling technique used quota sampling with the number of samples that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria, namely 80 respondents. Collecting data using the Questionnaire for the Assessment of Clean and Healthy Life Behavior in the Workplace Arrangement from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia. Results: The results showed that 44 farmers (55%) had a smoking habit while at work, 63 farmers (78.8%) did not consume or buy food sources from the workplace, and 44 farmers (55%) did not do a physical activity outside. working hours, 46 farmers (57.5%) did not wash their hands in running water, 69 farmers (87.5%) did not try to eradicate larvae at work, 52 farmers (65%) did not use clean water facilities, 62 farmers (77 .5%) perform defecation and defecation in healthy latrines/toilet, 67 farmers (83.8%) dispose of waste in its place, and 54 farmers (67.5%) have used the appropriate PPE. Conclusion: Clean and healthy living behavior needs to be done in a disciplined manner and there needs to be an evaluation that can be started from local health workers.

Abstract

Burnout syndrome relates to mental fatigue, loss of commitment, and motivation to decline sequentially. One of the ways that can be done to increase organizational commitment to nurses is to reduce the workload, which can cause work burnout problems for nurses. If burnout can be reduced, organizational commitment to nurses will increase. To analyze how the relationship between burnout syndrome and the organizational commitment of nurses in the inpatient hospital. This research method is non-experimental, which uses a correlational research design to explain the correlative relationship between variables. The population of this study was all nurses in the inpatient room of the Tk. III Baladhika Husada Jember and all the nurses in the inpatient room of Bhayangkara Bondowoso Hospital with 117 nurses. The sampling technique used by researchers in this study was total sampling. The data collection technique used was a questionnaire. The achievement of burnout syndrome nurses in inpatient hospitals (29% of the total score of 217). Achievement of nurses' organizational commitment in the inpatient hospital (66% of the total score of 104). This study concludes that it has a strong relationship with the direction of the negative relationship between burnout and organizational commitment to nurses in the hospital inpatient room. Therefore, to increase the organizational commitment of nurses, it must minimize burnout syndrome.

Abstract

Introduction: Prevention of HIV transmission can be done through safe sexual activities. It can occur if HIV-positive gay men or men who sex men (MSM) did not have sex with men or use a condom. Objective: This study aimed to identify the preventive behavior of HIV transmission through sexual activities among HIV-positive gay men. Methods: This study used a quantitative design with a descriptive exploratory approach. One hundred and one HIV-positive gay men were collected by using purposive sampling following this study. Data were collected by a questionnaire of preventive behavior of HIV transmission through sexual behavior and analyzed with an exploratory, descriptive approach. Results: Almost all MSM still have sex (96%) after they have been diagnosed HIV-positive, and most do not always use a condom (74.3%). Conclusions: Sexual prevention behavior in MSM is still low and it can increase new HIV cases. Efforts are needed against HIV transmission among the gay men population by adequate information to enhance condom use awareness and commitment when they have the same sexual activities.

Abstract

Farmers have high risk to suffer psychological health pressure. The factors that cause farmers have psychological pressure are limited land, the decrease of soil fertility, soil degradation, and natural causes. Farmers with high psychological health pressure can suffer stress. This research aims to investigate the representation of Stress and Farmers’ Coping Mechanism in Kecamatan Kalisat Kabupaten Jember. The type of this research was descriptive and simple random sampling was chosen to collect the data sampling technique. 100 farmers were collected. The respondents were measured by using farmers’ stress questionnaire and Brief farmers’ coping mechanism questionnaire COPE. The result of stress representation and farmer’s coping mechanisme analysis showed that the number of farmer’s stress tend to be cognitive response. Meanwhile, the result of coping mechanism showed that most of farmer’s coping mechanism more focus on emotion rather than problem. Test the validity of the stress questionnaire obtained r table = 0.497 with α = 0.05 and reliability of 0.703. Whereas for the coping mechanism α = 0.05 questionnaire, the validity of r table 0.361 and the reliability of 0.778 were obtained. Ethical tests were carried out in this study at the Faculty of Dentistry, Jember University No. 465 / UN25.8 / KEPK / DL / 2019.The result of this study can be a reference for nurses and primary health care service to diagnose farmers’ health diseases especially psychological diseases such as stress and coping mechanism. Nurses can do a preventive efforts, intervention, and health education about factors and symptoms of stress and coping mechanism to the farmers.

Abstract

Initial assessment has a very important role in determining the right nursing diagnosis, planning nursing actions, implementing actions and assessing/evaluating nursing. Initial assessment data is incomplete, precise and accurate resulting in nursing care will not achieve optimal goals. This study aims to determine the relationship between leadership style and the completeness of filling out the initial inpatient nursing assessment at Bina Sehat Hospital Jember. The research design is descriptive correlation with cross sectional,data analysis chi square, total population of all inpatient nurses, with a total sample of 79 nurses (total sampling). The results showed that there was no relationship between leadership style and the completeness of filling out the initial inpatient nursing assessment at Bina Sehat Hospital Jember (p=0.772). The majority of leadership style assessments are participatory (82.3%), where from 79 nurse respondents, 47 nurses are majority with a working period of > 5 years (59.5%), while in terms of education the majority of D3 nursing graduates are 40 nurses (50.6 %). Hospital agencies can maintain a participatory leadership style carried out by the head of the inpatient room, to be able to work together in decision making that can increase the creativity and work responsibilities of nurses, one of which is the completeness of nursing documentation, so that quality nursing services will be created.

Abstract

WHO initiated a policy related to the health for all principles and realized it in the application of gatekeeper theory for increasing the quality of public health center services which include the aspects of First Contact, Continuity, Comprehensiveness, and Coordination services. The purpose of this research was to explore nurses’ perceptions of gatekeepers’ role in NhI services at Public Health Center. This research is using descriptive qualitative design and purposive sampling with thematic analysis is used as sampling technique. Characteristics of the participants include 80% female with qualification 80% are vocational nurses and 60% nurses on duty at community public health center. Results of this research found three major themes including the involvement of administrative services, service providers, and service strategy implementers. The three themes are a manifestation of the integration of implementation of the four main gatekeeper functions by nursing staff of Public Health Center. Services run by nurses are considered less than optimal in first contact and continuous aspect, in term of nursing care documentation and the absence of HIV/AIDS treatment services. This research is expected to be a guide for updating information related to the role of nurses in public health center as gatekeeper.
