Abstract

Pencemaran air sungai masih menjadi permasalahan lingkungan yang menunjukkan rendahnya kepedulian masyarakat terhadap kebersihan lingkungan, termasuk pada usia sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran pembelajaran IPA dalam meningkatkan kepedulian siswa MI terhadap kebersihan air sungai melalui kajian literatur dari berbagai penelitian terdahulu. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode kajian pustaka (library research). Sumber data diperoleh dari buku, jurnal ilmiah, artikel penelitian, dan dokumen akademik lain yang relevan dengan pembelajaran IPA, pendidikan lingkungan, dan kepedulian siswa terhadap kebersihan air sungai. Teknik analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif kualitatif melalui proses membandingkan, menghubungkan, menginterpretasikan, dan menyimpulkan berbagai hasil penelitian terdahulu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran IPA berbasis lingkungan memiliki peran penting dalam meningkatkan kepedulian siswa terhadap kebersihan air sungai. Berbagai model pembelajaran seperti Problem Based Learning (PBL), Project Based Learning (PjBL), Discovery Learning, integrasi nilai-nilai Islam, pemanfaatan teknologi, dan kegiatan berbasis proyek terbukti mampu meningkatkan kesadaran, keterlibatan, serta tindakan nyata siswa dalam menjaga lingkungan. Pembelajaran yang dikaitkan dengan kondisi nyata di sekitar siswa juga membuat proses pembelajaran lebih kontekstual dan bermakna. Penelitian ini memberikan implikasi bahwa pembelajaran IPA berbasis lingkungan dapat dijadikan alternatif dalam membentuk karakter peduli lingkungan siswa sejak dini.

Abstract

Integrasi teknologi dalam pendidikan sangat penting untuk memvisualisasikan konsep-konsep abstrak, khususnya pada sistem ekskresi manusia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji efektivitas media pembelajaran digital dalam menjelaskan proses mikroskopis pada ginjal yang sering sulit dipahami oleh siswa. Kebaruan penelitian ini terletak pada fokusnya yang secara khusus mengkaji integrasi simulasi interaktif, video animasi, dan augmented reality dalam memvisualisasikan proses mikroskopis ginjal, yang masih terbatas dalam penelitian sebelumnya. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi literatur dengan menganalisis sumber-sumber dari basis data akademik yang berkaitan dengan media pembelajaran digital dalam pendidikan biologi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media digital mampu meningkatkan pemahaman konseptual siswa melalui visualisasi proses filtrasi, reabsorpsi, dan sekresi yang lebih jelas dan interaktif. Simulasi interaktif membantu siswa memahami proses yang tidak dapat diamati secara langsung, sementara augmented reality memberikan pengalaman belajar yang imersif. Secara keseluruhan, media pembelajaran digital efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep dan motivasi belajar siswa pada materi sistem ekskresi ginjal.

Abstract

This study aims to critically analyze bioethanol production from water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) based on previous research findings and to develop a project-based learning design for SMA/SMK students. This study employs a qualitative approach using a literature review method by analyzing relevant scientific articles published in the last five years. Data were collected through documentation and analyzed using descriptive qualitative techniques, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that bioethanol production efficiency is strongly influenced by pretreatment methods, fermentation conditions, and process control, with yields generally categorized as low to moderate. Previous studies also reveal that project-based learning significantly enhances students’ conceptual understanding and critical thinking skills. Based on the synthesis of these findings, this study proposes a structured project-based learning design that integrates bioethanol production as a contextual learning medium. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of aligning technical feasibility, educational objectives, and sustainability principles in developing science-based learning projects in secondary education.

Abstract

. This research is driven by the low literacy of plastic waste management in primary education, where students tend to perceive cleanliness only as disposing of trash without having the skills for reuse. This study aims to describe the utilization of recycled plastic waste media in enhancing students' environmental awareness at MI Salafiyah Syafi’iyah through an experiential learning approach. The method employed is descriptive-analytical qualitative, with data collection techniques including direct observation, interviews, and documentation. The research implementation was carried out through three main stages: participatory waste sorting, selection of clothing pattern designs as adhesive media, and the construction of creative collages into an educational display board named "Karyaku." The results indicate that the integration of plastic waste as a learning medium is capable of transforming students' paradigms from a consumptive to a creative perspective, as well as improving their practical understanding of the 3R principles (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle). The success of this research is evidenced by the creation of aesthetic and functional visual media that not only enhances students' creativity but also fosters a sense of responsibility and sustainable environmental concern for the school ecosystem.

Abstract

Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) is an important preventive effort to reduce the spread of infectious diseases among school-age children. However, the implementation of PHBS among elementary school students still faces several challenges, including low awareness, lack of habituation, and learning processes that are predominantly focused on cognitive aspects. This study aims to describe and analyze the implementation of Science learning based on the Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) approach in improving students' clean and healthy living behavior as an effort to prevent infectious diseases. This research employed a qualitative descriptive design. The study was conducted at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Darul Ulum Jember in May 2026. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis used the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, consisting of data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings revealed that STEAM-based science learning increased students' engagement in the learning process, strengthened their understanding of PHBS, and encouraged healthier behavior both at school and at home. The study also identified diverse responses from teachers and parents, initial resistance from some community members, and variations in students' academic achievement. Nevertheless, through socialization and support from various stakeholders, STEAM-based science learning was successfully implemented and positively contributed to the development of clean and healthy living behaviors. Therefore, the STEAM approach can serve as an effective alternative for integrating health education into science learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the debate regarding the effectiveness of traditional learning methods in science education at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) amid the development of educational digitalization. The study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design conducted in Jember Regency for three months, from February to April 2026. The research informants consisted of 16 participants, including madrasa principals, teachers, parents, and community members. Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews, observations, and documentation, which were then analyzed using descriptive qualitative techniques. The findings revealed that traditional methods are still considered effective in helping students understand basic science concepts because the learning process is systematic and easy to comprehend. However, limited access to technology in several schools remains an obstacle to the equal implementation of digital learning. In addition, although digital learning can increase students’ motivation and engagement, it does not necessarily lead to an optimal improvement in conceptual understanding. Therefore, this study concludes that a combination of traditional and digital learning methods is the most appropriate approach in science learning at elementary schools and Madrasah Ibtidaiyah, considering students’ needs as well as the availability of facilities and infrastructure. structure.
