Abstract

Character education at the junior high school level is essential in shaping students' morals and personalities during their formative years. This study aims to explore various approaches, strategies, and best practices in managing character education in junior high schools through a narrative literature review. The urgency of this study arises from the increasing moral challenges faced by students and the need for schools to develop effective character-building frameworks. The research method involves a comprehensive literature review of 40 relevant articles published between 2019 and 2025, selected based on specific inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data were obtained from national and international scholarly databases, analyzed thematically to identify implementation patterns, supporting factors, and obstacles. The findings reveal that character education is effectively implemented through integration in curriculum content, school culture, religious activities, subject-based learning, extracurricular programs, and the involvement of families and communities. Teachers, especially guidance and counseling teachers, play a critical role in strengthening ethical behavior and responsibility among students. However, the implementation faces challenges such as lack of educator commitment, insufficient collaboration with families, and limited facilities. Innovative strategies, including pesantren-based approaches, school climate development, and personality modeling by teachers, are proven to enhance character formation. This review concludes that a comprehensive, collaborative, and well-managed approach is vital in optimizing character education outcomes in junior high schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model as a solution to limited resources and teacher competencies in suburban schools, using a case study of SMK Negeri 1 Cileungsi. The background of this research stems from the challenges faced by schools in suburban areas, where limited facilities and varying levels of teacher competence often hinder the implementation of effective and innovative learning. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through observations, interviews, and the analysis of learning documents. The results indicate that the implementation of the PjBL model can enhance students’ active engagement in the learning process, strengthen collaboration among learners, and foster critical and creative thinking skills, despite resource limitations. Furthermore, teachers demonstrated improved pedagogical competence through direct experience in designing and implementing project-based learning activities. The successful implementation of this model is strongly influenced by collaboration among educators, support from school management, and teachers’ readiness to adopt project-based learning strategies. Therefore, this study recommends the implementation of PjBL as a strategic alternative to address limited educational resources in suburban areas. The practical implications of this research are expected to serve as a reference for other schools facing similar conditions, enabling them to create learning environments that are more contextual, innovative, and oriented toward 21st-century competencies.

Abstract

Escherichia coli (E. coli) is a gram negative bacteria that can reduce the quality of meat and cause diarrhea if the amount is too much.This study aims to investigate the presence of E. coli  contamination in chicken meat sell in traditional markets in Medan. This research was conducted using the perposive sampling method and collect samples from 30% of each nine traditional markets with a total of 32 samples. The traditional markets in Medan, namely Petisah, Central, Sei kambing, Kampung Lalang, Kwala Bekala, Helvetia, Kampung Baru, Kemiri and Padang Bulan. Reserch were conducted by using the CFU / ml method with chromocult media. Samples were analyzed  in the laboratory of the Regional Veterinary Disease Investigation Center Region 1 Medan. The results showed 32 samples of chicken meat had exceeded the maximum limit of microbial contamination. The highest total microbial average was in the Kampung Lalang market 3.49 Log CFU / g, and the lowest was in the Kemiri market of 2.79 Log CFU / g. Based on the results of the research, it was found that the meat in the traditional markets of Medan was all contaminated with E. coli and had passed the maximum limit of bacterial contamination.

Abstract

One of the key indicators to measure the success of the quality and process of education in schools is school well-being. The school environment plays an important role in influencing the well-being of its entire community, including students, teachers, staff, and other elements involved in the school ecosystem. This research is a literature study that aims to analyse the role of school ecosystem components in supporting the well-being of all elements in the school. The method used in this research is a systematic literature review of national and international journals in the last ten years that are relevant to the topic of school ecosystem and school well-being. The steps in this research are: 1) literature search process; 2) determining selection criteria; 3) literature analysis; 4) synthesising. The results showed that the school ecosystem components collectively and individually play an important role in shaping school well-being. These components include: 1) positive school climate; 2) curriculum and teaching that support well-being; 3) physical health and physical environment of the school that support well-being; 4) parental and community engagement; 5) teacher and staff well-being. In general, it can be concluded that creating a prosperous ecosystem requires a holistic and integrated approach. Where each component can interact harmoniously to support the optimal growth and development of all school members. ABSTRAKSalah satu indikator kunci untuk mengukur keberhasilan kualitas dan proses pendidikan di sekolah adalah kesejahteraan sekolah. Lingkungan sekolah memegang peranan penting dalam mempengaruhi kesejahteraan seluruh komunitasnya mulai dari siswa, guru, staf, dan unsur lain yang terlibat dalam ekosistem sekolah. Penelitian ini merupakan studi literatur yang bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran komponen ekosistem sekolah dalam mendukung kesejahteraan semua elemen di sekolah. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kajian literatur sistematis terhadap jurnal nasional dan internasional dalam sepuluh tahun terakhir yang relevan dengan topik ekosistem sekolah dan kesejahteraan sekolah. Langkah-langkah dalam penelitian ini yaitu: 1) proses pencarian literatur; 2) menentuan kriteria seleksi; 3) analisis literatur; 4) melakukan sintesis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan komponen ekosistem sekolah secara kolektif dan individual memiliki peran penting dalam membentuk kesejahteraan sekolah. Komponen-konponen tersebut meliputi: 1) iklim sekolah yang positif; 2) kurikulum dan pengajaran yang mendukung kesejahteraan; 3) kesehatan fisik dan lingkungan fisik sekolah yang mendukung kesejahteraan; 4) keterlibatan orang tua dan komunitas; 5) kesejahteraan guru dan staf. Secara umum dapat disimpulkan bahwa menciptakan ekosistem yang Sejahtera memerlukan pendekatan yang holistic dan terintegrasi. Dimana setiap komponen dapat berinteraksi secara harmonis untuk mendukung pertumbuhan dan perkembangan secara optimal seluruh warga sekolah.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of academic resilience on student engagement among Psychology students at Surabaya State University. Changes in the learning system in the digital era require students to have high adaptive skills to academic pressure, making academic resilience a crucial factor in maintaining learning engagement. The research approach used was a quantitative correlational approach, with a population of all active students in the 2025/2026 academic year. The study sample was determined using proportional stratified random sampling with a minimum of 200 respondents. The main instruments used included the Academic Resilience Scale (ARS-30) (Cassidy, 2016; adaptation by Erawati, 2024) and the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale for Students (UWES-9S) (Schaufeli et al., 2002; Carmona-Halty et al., 2019). Data analysis was performed using simple linear regression with SPSS version 26 to determine the effect of academic resilience on student engagement. The results showed that academic resilience had a positive and significant effect on student engagement. Students with high levels of academic resilience tend to demonstrate greater engagement in behavioral, emotional, and cognitive aspects during the learning process. These findings confirm that students' ability to cope with academic pressure and manage negative emotions is a protective factor against decreased learning engagement. Furthermore, descriptive analysis shows that levels of academic resilience and student engagement are in the moderate-high category, with variations based on year and gender. Theoretically, these results support Self-Determination Theory (Deci & Ryan, 2000), which states that students with high academic resilience have stronger intrinsic motivation because they are able to fulfill basic psychological needs for autonomy, competence, and social connectedness. Practically, the results of this study are expected to provide a basis for developing psychological interventions and learning strategies that support increased academic resilience and active student engagement in higher education.

Abstract

The special service for people with disabilities in HKBP Jatiasih is a form of attention to motivate parents to remain enthusiastic in accompanying their children even though they have disabilities. HKBP Jatiasih, especially the Diakonia Team, want to make this activity has an impact on other churches paying attention to congregations with disabilities. Disabled worship services are held once every 3 months, provides a service of words delivered by the Pastor and then prepares blessings in the form of money and food. This activity has been carried out for more than 2 years, which is included in the program for the Year of Health, the Year of Professionalism in Service Organizers, and the Year of Inclusive Ecumenical 2024.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menelaah hubungan timbal balik antara strategi pembelajaran dan kesehatan mental guru dalam menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang positif. Di era pendidikan abad ke-21, guru dihadapkan pada tuntutan kompleks: menguasai pedagogi modern, beradaptasi dengan perkembangan teknologi, serta menjaga keseimbangan kesejahteraan psikologis. Kesehatan mental yang stabil menjadi fondasi penting bagi guru untuk menumbuhkan suasana belajar yang suportif, kreatif, dan bermakna. Kajian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif berbasis studi pustaka yang bersumber dari berbagai literatur ilmiah dan hasil penelitian terdahulu. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa penerapan strategi pembelajaran yang berorientasi pada peserta didik seperti pembelajaran humanistik, berdiferensiasi, kolaboratif, berbasis proyek, dan reflektif mampu memperkuat kesejahteraan emosional dan profesional guru. Strategi tersebut memberikan ruang bagi otonomi, rasa bermakna, dan dukungan sosial yang berkontribusi terhadap kesehatan mental positif. Sebaliknya, guru dengan kondisi psikologis yang baik lebih mampu mengimplementasikan strategi pembelajaran secara kreatif, adaptif, dan berkelanjutan. Interaksi dua arah antara strategi pembelajaran dan kesehatan mental ini menghasilkan sinergi yang memperkuat kualitas iklim kelas serta hubungan interpersonal di sekolah. Dengan demikian, perhatian terhadap aspek kesejahteraan guru bukan sekadar isu personal, melainkan bagian integral dari pembangunan ekosistem pendidikan yang sehat, inklusif, dan berdaya tahan. Dukungan institusional, pelatihan berkelanjutan, serta budaya kerja yang empatik diperlukan untuk memastikan guru dapat berkembang secara profesional sekaligus sejahtera secara mental

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah (problem-solving) sebagai keterampilan esensial dalam konteks akademik dan profesional, serta adanya indikasi rendahnya kemampuan tersebut pada siswa Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) di Kota Depok, khususnya pada Mata Pelajaran Ekonomi. Kondisi ini diduga berkaitan erat dengan minat belajar siswa dan persepsi mereka terhadap metode pembelajaran yang diterapkan oleh guru. Berdasarkan latar belakang tersebut, penelitian ini berfokus untuk menguji pengaruh model pembelajaran aktif, yaitu Metode Pembelajaran Diskusi, terhadap Minat Belajar dan Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Mata Pelajaran Ekonomi pada siswa SMA Negeri di Kota Depok Tahun Ajaran 2025/2026. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan tiga variabel utama: Metode Pembelajaran Diskusi (variabel bebas/independen), Minat Belajar (variabel intervening/dependen), dan Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Mata Pelajaran Ekonomi (variabel dependen). Sampel penelitian dibatasi pada siswa kelas XI dan XII. Pengambilan data Minat Belajar dilakukan melalui kuesioner, sedangkan Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah diukur menggunakan tes uraian. teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu teknik analisis regresi linier ganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa 1. Terdapat pengaruh  yang signifikan metode Pembelajaran terhadap minat belajar dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah secara bersama-sama Mata Pelajaran Ekonomi SMA  Di Kota Depok.
