Abstract

Marriage is a sacred bond between husband and wife to live happily. However, many couples end up divorcing due to various factors such as disputes, economics, etc. For this reason, the Government conducts guidance on pre-marriage guidance to minimize divorce cases. This Article reviewed the implementation of pre-marriage guidance in the Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Surabaya City to prepare brides and grooms for married life. This research is field research and qualitative. Data collection is conducted by observation, interview, and documentation. The data is then presented, analyzed, and concluded by a deductive analogy. This research concluded that the implementation of pre-marriage guidance in the Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Surabaya City follows the Decree of the Director-General of Islamic Community Guidance No. 379 of 2018 concerning the implementation of pre-marriage guidance. In 2020, they held 28 pre-marriage guidance activities. Pre-marriage guidance is done to prepare the brides and grooms to live in harmony to reduce the occurrence of divorce. However, the implementation could be more optimal due to several factors, including funding, human resources, lack of coordination with several institutions, and awareness of brides and grooms to follow marriage guidance. This research contributes to the importance of the role of Pre-Marriage Guidance for Brides and Grooms as the foundation of the family. The debate about roles and barriers is discussed in this article.

Abstract

Sidoarjo, during the Covid-19 pandemic, is one of the districts in East Java carrying large-scale restrictions (PSBB), because many Sidoarjo residents were exposed to Covid-19. For this reason, the Sidoarjo Government made a Regent’s Regulation on PSBB. Among the things that are restricted are religious activities. This has led to a limit in the implementation of worship for Sidoarjo residents. This article discusses the Sidoarjo regent’s regulations on restrictions on religious activities during the Covid-19 pandemic from the perspective of maqāṣid al-sharī’ah. This research is a library and qualitative research. The data was collected through a study of documents from Sidoarjo regency government regulations and analyzed by maqāṣid al-sharī’ah. Four regulations of the Regent of Sidoarjo related to religious activities during the Covid-19 pandemic Regulation Number 30, 32, 44 and 58 Tahun 2020. From the perspective of maqāṣid al-sharī’ah, religious activities were restricted during the Covid-19 pandemic to maintain religion and the soul. It is related to maintaining religion because the regulation does not prevent its citizens from worshipping even with strict health protocols. It is related to maintaining the soul because it aims to minimize the spread of Covid-19 in the Sidoarjo regency.

Abstract

During the Covid-19 pandemic, the family cluster was among the clusters that caused the spread of this virus. For families exposed to this virus, their family's resilience has been tested. This article discusses the resilience of families exposed to Covid-19 to be analyzed in maqasid al-shari’ah. The method used in this research is qualitative and field research. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The collected data were analyzed as normative-descriptive. This study concluded that families exposed to Covid-19 work together to fight this virus by adjusting their respective conditions. For the mild, they self-isolate at home, and those with severe illnesses are hospitalized. If a family dies from Covid-19, the family left behind is isolated. What the family exposed to Covid does is maintain family resilience and maintain the physical and psychic health of the family. From the perspective of maqasid al-shari'ah, the effort corresponds to the concepts of hifz al-din (guarding religion), hifz al-nasl (guarding offspring), hifz al-nafs (guarding the soul), and hifz al-'aql (guarding reason).

Abstract

This article aims to determine the effectiveness of the Marriage Guidance program in KUA, Gedangan District, Sidoarjo. This research is qualitative field research with inductive data analysis. The result of this research is that the implementation of Marriage Guidance at KUA Gedangan Sidoarjo is in line with the Decree of the Director-General of Islamic Community Guidance Number 379 of 2018 concerning Guidelines for the Implementation of Prenuptial Marriage Guidance for Prospective Brides. The program of Marriage Guidance at the KUA, Gedangan District, which has only been implemented for the last two years, has been ineffective because there are several inhibiting factors, including funding, facilities, and infrastructure, and implementation time. After all, the bride and groom cannot attend due to work and the lack of desire for the prospective bride to participate in Marriage Guidance. Therefore, the KUA emphasizes the process of rafa ‘both’ administrative rafa’ and rafa’ of the future bride and groom’s readiness, with the hope of reducing the number of divorces that occur in Gedangan Sidoarjo.

Abstract

Many women employ various methods to enhance their beauty and attractiveness, with Botox being a popular choice. Consequently, numerous beauty clinics now offer Botox therapy, despite its potential side effects. This article aims to explore Botox therapy for beauty from the perspective of maqasid al-shari’ah. The study was conducted at a beauty clinic (referred to as XD) using field research methods, including interviews and literature review. Data were analyzed descriptively through the lens of maqasid al-shari’ah. The study found that Botox therapy at the XD clinic is used to address health issues, particularly those related to muscle failure. Additionally, it is utilized for aesthetic purposes, such as reducing facial wrinkles. However, frequent or improperly performed Botox treatments can pose risks to patients. From the perspective of maqasid al-shari’ah, Botox use is closely linked to the preservation of life (hifz al-nafs). Thus, Botox can be considered permissible (mubah), especially for medical reasons. For purely cosmetic purposes without medical necessity, it is deemed undesirable (makruh). It is crucial that Botox procedures are performed by qualified professionals.
