Abstract

This service aims to improve the economy and independence of the creative industries of people with disabilities. The creative industry is a printing and screen printing business owned by partners, namely people with disabilities, especially people who are deaf or hard of hearing and speech impaired. People with disabilities generally find it challenging to get access to funds because their limitations make it difficult to gain trust from the industry. The method offered in implementing this service is transferring science and technology for business development through discussions, guidance, sewing t-shirts and bags, marketing management training, and partner mentoring. Results from questionnaires and partner interviews show that understanding, skills, independence, and the number of products made have increased. In real terms, this service program has succeeded in increasing the turnover of partners. This phenomenon is because partners can receive screen printing and sewing totes and mug accessories simultaneously without going from second-hand (totes and accessories are no longer ordered by other tailors). Thus, this service can help the creative industries of people with hearing and speech impairments become more independent in their society.

Abstract

This research aims to describe how future physics teachers study mathematical physics. Physics students must master the existing material in Mathematical Physics mathematics well, thoroughly, and collaboratively. Data collection is done with lifts, interviews, and observations. Research results show that the learning process needs to be more contextual, less applicative, and highly dominant in mathematics; less attractive teaching materials and lectures are not designed to equip students with the skills of the 21st century. Learning does not use technology to help students solve physical problems. It causes students difficulty learning mathematical methods in physics. In fact, in learning mathematical physics, students must master the concepts related to mathematics tools and their applications. The ability to mathematically solve problems of physical phenomena and give meaning to mathematical models is built into critical aspects of learning. The solution that can be applied is to apply technology using software applications like Maple.

Abstract

The integration of ethnoscience into the guided inquiry-based e-module is driven by students’ low critical thinking skills caused by the dominance of conventional, teacher-centered learning methods. The physics topics of light and optical instruments are linked with elements of the traditional wayang kulit art as an ethnoscience approach to create more meaningful and contextual learning experiences. This study aims to develop an interactive and contextual e-module to enhance students’ critical thinking skills. The development model used is ADDIE, which consists of five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research was conducted with 18 eighth-grade students at SMP Ma’arif 01 Nurul Muttaqin. Expert validation results showed that the e-module achieved feasibility scores of 84% for content and media, and 87% for language aspects. Teachers rated the practicality of the e-module very high with a score of 95%. During implementation, students’ critical thinking skills significantly improved, indicated by an average pretest score of 16.83 and a post-test score of 98.33. The N-Gain value of 0.9807 falls into the high category, demonstrating the e-module’s effectiveness in enhancing critical thinking abilities. Therefore, this guided inquiry-based ethnoscience e-module is both feasible and effective as an innovative and contextual science learning medium.

Abstract

Critical thinking is essential in environmental education, helping students address ecological and sustainability challenges. However, current learning models often lack a structured framework for developing critical thinking in environmental science courses. The advancement of digital technology offers both opportunities and challenges. This research aims to develop critical thinking dimensions for environmental science courses using a project-based learning (PjBL) approach, integrated with digital technology (AI-assisted data analysis, GIS for mapping, and cloud-based tools for collaboration). The Delphi method was used to create critical thinking indicators, involving 15 experts from various fields. Data was collected via interviews, Focus Group Discussions (FGD), and a Likert scale-based validation questionnaire. Results show that the developed dimensions Inference, Clarifying and Interpretation, Analyze and Evaluate Arguments, and Explanation met validity and reliability criteria through Rasch analysis and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). Technology integration in PjBL enhances data-driven analysis and predictive modeling but may reduce critical reflection due to AI reliance. A hybrid learning approach is recommended to balance hands-on interaction with technology use. This study contributes to designing more effective strategies for improving students' critical thinking skills in environmental education

Abstract

The teacher professional education program requires prospective physics teachers to demonstrate integrated academic, pedagogical, social, and personal competencies. However, current evaluation practices remain dominated by traditional multiple-choice tests that primarily assess lower-order cognitive skills and fail to capture critical thinking, problem-solving, and reflective abilities. This study aims to develop a problem-based professional competency test designed to predict the academic success of the teacher professional education program students in physics. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach with a modified Borg & Gall model, covering needs analysis, design, expert validation, pilot testing, revisions, and field trials. The participants were 57 physics students of the teacher professional education program on universitas in Malang at 2025. The initial instrument consisted of 35 items, which were refined to 25 valid items through rigorous analysis of validity, reliability, item difficulty, discrimination power, and distractor effectiveness. Findings revealed that all 25 items were valid, with an instrument reliability coefficient of 0.788. The distribution of item difficulty was dominated by easy to moderate levels, ensuring a balanced measurement range. These results highlight that a problem-based professional competency test can serve as a valid, reliable, and contextually relevant evaluation tool. It not only aligns with the demands of higher-order thinking but also reflects the pedagogical readiness required of future physics teachers.
