Abstract

The waste bank is one of the programs that exist to deal with waste. Because waste becomes a very serious problem if it is not handled properly. The purpose of this research is to explain the mechanism for managing the Sempu Waste Bank, efforts to empower the customer's economy, and social aspects related to the existence of the Sempu Waste Bank. This type of research uses field research with a qualitative approach. The data sources in this study are managers and customers at the Sempu Waste Bank. Collecting data using observation, interview, and documentation methods. The results of this study can be concluded that the management and role of the Sempu Waste Bank for economic empowerment of the community meets the criteria of being transparent, responsible, profitable, sustainable, extensible, and opening up space for increasing creativity.

Abstract

Persoalan degradasi moral diakibatkan oleh salah satunya tidak sesuainya pola asuh orang tua terhadap anaknya. Hal itu persoalan itu harus diperhatikan cara serius karena akan menimbulkan dampak negatife di kemudian hari. Oleh sebab itu perlu diadakan kegiatan seminar/workshop/pelatihan kepada orang tua tentang pola asuh yang arif dan efektif (parenting) Tujuannya agar orang tua mengerti dan melaksanakan cara mengasuh dan membimbing anak secara benar. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ialah Partisipatory Action Research (PAR). Objek pengabdian dilakukan pada orang tua di Desa Blaru, Badas, Kab. Kediri berjumlah 17 orang. Hasilnya ialah orangtua yang telah mengikuti pelatihan pola asuh anak menunjukkan kemampuan penerapan pola asuh yang lebih baik. Nilai rata-rata pola asuh sebelum mengikuti pelatihan adalah 2,96 untuk model pola asuh otoriter, 2,56 untuk model pola asuh permisif dan 3,33 untuk model pola asuh demokratis sedangkan nilai rata-rata penerapan pola asuh setelah mengikuti pelatihan adalah 2,79 untuk model pola asuh otoriter, 2,47 untuk model pola asuh permisif dan 3,34 untuk model pola asuh demokratis. Setelah dilakukan pelatihan parenting muncul keinginan orangtua untuk mendampingi anak dalam aktivitas di lingkungan sekitar dan dunia maya, meningkatnya keinginan orangtua untuk mendorong anak melakukan aktivitas positif dan meningkatnya motivasi untuk menjadi teladan positif bagi anak.

Abstract

This research uses Quiz Whizzer to determine the effectiveness of Quiz Whizzer in improving the reading comprehension of recount text from 37 students in class X5 of SMAN 1 Blitar. The researcher wants to know the effectiveness of Quiz Whizzer in improving reading comprehension of recount text. The things the researcher wants to research include; finding the main idea, synonyms and antonyms, references, implied and explicit meaning, and concluding the reading text. The results show a significant increase in students' reading comprehension of recount text, this is proven by the average of 74.74 increasing to 83.84. Therefore, it can be recommended that teachers use Quiz Whizzer as an alternative learning medium as a medium for teaching and improving students' abilities.

Abstract

Following the pandemic, there has been a surge in interest in natural tourism as a means to attract travelers. Minggirsari Village, since 2019, has been actively harnessing its natural resources to entice tourists and has emerged as a trailblazing model village in Blitar Regency, successfully preserving and leveraging its natural splendors for tourism. This study endeavors to delineate Minggirsari's marketing communication strategy in promoting its natural destinations, employing the Marketing Communication Mix model. The qualitative case study methodology was employed, involving on-site observations, interviews with tourism managers, and activity documentation to gather and subsequently analyze data, following the Miles and Hubbermen theory's stages of data collection, processing, presentation, and conclusion drawing. Minggirsari Village's Nature Tourism employs a diverse marketing communications mix encompassing personal sales, advertising, promotions, and public relations to augment tourist footfall, encapsulated by the rallying cry "Ayo Dolan Nang Minggirsari" ("Let's Play in Minggirsari"). The integration of natural tourism with Minggirsari's creative economic potential, epitomized by the #ayodolankeminggirsari movement, demonstrates effective management of human resources, promotions, and auxiliary tourism facilities. Future research avenues could focus on gauging the responses of visitors to Minggirsari Village's natural tourism offerings, thereby enriching our understanding of its impact and efficacy.

Abstract

This study is designed to solve the classroom problem dealing with the improvement of listening skill of the students of one private Islamic college that also study at pesantren in which they have lack of exposure in learning English. To cater a new way to overcome this issue, a classroom action research focusing on the implementation of interactive video viewing technique was employed. The findings exemplify that the students show better listening achievement after the implementation of second research cycle.

Abstract

Listening is one of the main components in English Comprehension, especial for EFL Learners in Indo006Eesia. However, some EFL learners in senior high school were still struggling with some of the listening methods and media provided by the school such as the bad quality of the audio, incomprehensive accent on the media, and sometimes, the media themselves were unavailable for students to access them. Because of that, the researcher suggested a short-video in a form of YouTube Shorts as a teaching tool for EFL learners in senior high school to help them enhance their listening comprehension. For this research setting, the researcher found the suitable school for the research at SMAN 1 Kademangan Blitar. This research is an experimental research with one-group pretest-posttest design. The quantitative data was the form of data collected in this research. The listening comprehension test was implemented as a form of data collection for this research. A purposeful sampling with consist of 32 tenth grade students from class X-10 at SMAN 1 Kademangan Blitar was the sample used for this research. Several procedures were conducted during this experiment such as administrating a tryout test at SMAN 1 Srengat Blitar, followed by a pretest, giving out the treatment, and providing a posttest exam at SMAN 1 Kademangan Blitar. The results of the experiments would then be measured and analyzed using SPSS 26 to measure the effectiveness of the treatment. The data analysis showed several results in different versions. Firstly, an improvement in mean value from 72.67 at pretest to 88.39 at posttest showed the first step of enhancement. Afterwards, the data were then calculated and analyzed by measuring it’s paired sample t-test and by indicating the significance of Tvalue and Ttable, the result of the analyzation showed that the Tvalue (10.524) was greater than Ttable (2.052). And finally, the significance of the experiment were smaller than the two-tailed significance (0.00 < 0.5). With the following results above, it was proven that the Null Hypothesis was rejected and the Alternative Hypothesis was accepted, meaning that there are significant improvement on senior high school’s listening ability. Making YouTube Shorts Video as an assessment tool effective to use in everyday learning.

Abstract

Abstract This study aimed to establish the potency of the ERT application as a learning tool in writing class X learners in high school. The researchers created a writing lesson application by employing research and development (R&D) design. According to the findings of class X student interviews at SMAN 1 Sutojayan and SMAN 1 Kademangan, the researcher discovered that students had writing difficulties. The study's participants were twenty randomly chosen students from the two schools and five randomly chosen teachers in Blitar Regency. The ERT Application's findings indicate that: (1) this application comprises of writing exercises and recount text material, and it comes with two guidebooks for teachers and students; (2) the validity of this application as a learning tool, with 89% of the information and 84% of the media being validated; (3) both teachers and students had favorable opinions of the ERT application as a teaching tool. While the ERT model received an overall student response of 86% and an overall teacher response of 86% in the product test findings, both groups highly agreed with ERT application. The product significantly influences how well students can produce recount It is reliable and suitable for use as a teaching and learning tool. Abstract

The aims of this research are not only to know the develop flashcard media for teaching vocabulary to the seventh grade students at SMPN 1 Sanankulon in 2018/2019 academic years but also to know the effectiveness of flashcard media for teaching vocabulary to the seventh grade students at SMPN 1 Sanankulon in 2017/2018 academic years, to know the students response toward the use of flashcard in teaching learning vocabulary to the seventh grade students at SMPN 1 Sanankulon in 2018/2019 academic years. This research is Research and Development (R&D), which used the Sugiyono ’s model (2016:298) with adaptation. The data collecting through interview, questionnaire, documentation, and test. In this case, the researcher used three validators. They are validator of media and validators of material. The product user is VII F of SMPN 1 Sanankulon which consisted of 32 students. In this research, the researcher used one group pre-test and post-test experimental design to try out the product. The result of the research showed that: 1) The result of media validation flashcard and guiding book got the average were 84,37% while the result of content of material validation 87,5%. The average for all validation was 85,41%. The score was catagorized as “very good-- with interval 80% < x ≤ 100%. So, the developed flashcard media as a learning media in teaching and learning vocabulary to the seventh grade students was valid to be implemented for the seventh grade students and it can be used as media in teaching learning process especially in vocabulary mastery. 2) It proved by the result of the students ’ test. The mean score of pre-test and post-test increased from 69,81 to the 94,37. It can be concluded that there was increased in mean score before and after treatment. Furthermore, Based on the result of t-test, it showed that value of t-test < t table. So, ho is rejected and ha is accepted. It can be concluded that there is significance of mean score the seventh grade students before and after treatment the product. In other word the product is proper if used in the seventh grade students at SMPN 1 Sanankulon. 3) It proved with result of questionnaire students ’ response. It gained the total score 1038 then the criterion of score 1280. It accumulated on precentage that was 81,09%. It was very good category. It means, that used flashcard media in learning vocabulary is very positive for the seventh grade students. If seen in criteria of response this is absolutely agree response. So, in other word the students absolutely agree if used flashcard media in learning vocabulary.

Abstract

This research was aim to develop recount text materials to the tenth grader students of senior high school and find out the effectiveness of the recount text materials. This research was done in SMAN 1 Ponggok. The researcher used Research and Development (R & D) adopted from of Sugiyono’s model (2015:298) to conduct the research. The data collected through interview, questionnaire, documentation, and test. The expert validation which used in this research were; 1) media expert 2) material expert. To try out the product, the researcher used one group pre-test and post-test experimental design. The results of the research showed that the develop of Recount Text Material was effective; it proved by 1) The result of material validation 98.18% and media validation 96.25 %. The average of those two validation is 97,22% that categorized as “very good” by interval 80% < x ≤ 100%. So, the supplementary book of Recount text Material which developed was valid to be implemented in the tenth grader of Senior high school students. 2) It also increase the tenth grade students’ writing achievement that proved by the increase of the students’ of pre test mean score (66.67) to post test mean score (83.83). 3) The students also gave positive responses toward Recount Text Material as reflected from the result of the questionnaire given (85.8%). From that result presented before, it can be concluded that Recount Text Material was effective and increased the tenth grade students’ writing achievement. It means Recount Text Material can be used as a supplementary media for learning English writing.
