Abstract

Blepharitis or inflammation of the eyelids is one of the common eye diseases, characterized by inflammation of the edges of the eyelids that can cause discomfort, irritation, and even visual disturbances. This disease can be chronic with recurrent symptoms such as red eyes, itching, watering, and the appearance of crust on the eyelashes. Proper and prompt diagnosis is necessary so that medical treatment can be carried out effectively and further complications can be prevented. This study aims to design and build an expert system based on the Fuzzy Logic method in helping diagnose blepharitis. The fuzzy method was chosen because it is able to handle the uncertainty of symptom data that often arises in the medical diagnosis process. This system is developed through the identification of the common symptoms of blepharitis, then processed using the fuzzy membership function to determine the type of disease based on the degree of symptom onset. The output of the system is in the form of the results of the diagnosis of blepharitis along with initial treatment recommendations that can be used as a reference for users. The results of the system test show that the application of fuzzy logic is able to provide diagnosis results that are quite accurate, fast, and easy to understand both medical personnel and the general public. This system is expected to help increase public awareness about the importance of early detection of blepharitis, as well as being a tool in the initial medical decision-making process. However, the limitations of this study lie in the limited amount of data and coverage of the type of blepharitis, so further development is needed, both in expanding the knowledge base, increasing the variety of symptoms, and improving system interaction with users.

Abstract

Afforestation and tree planting are important programmes for climate change mitigation and environmental conservation. However, the effectiveness of these programmes is often constrained by a lack of monitoring, documentation, and community involvement. The implementation of digital technology is an innovative solution to overcome these challenges. This community service aims to integrate digital technology in reforestation and tree planting programmes through the use of map-based applications, social media, and environmental sensors. This community service activity includes training on the use of location marker applications, monitoring tree growth with sensors, and digital campaigns to increase community participation. With the digital system, data related to tree conditions can be updated in real-time and easily accessed, so that it can help related parties in conducting evaluations and counselling that is more targeted. The results of this service show that digital technology increases community involvement, makes it easier to track the development of plants, and strengthens the transparency of the greening programme. This implementation is expected to become a model of sustainability in a wider community-based greening project.

Abstract

Problems with the use of Electronic Data Capture (EDC) machines at Jinjja Chicken Center Point Medan restaurant pose a significant challenge, especially since EDC machines not only function as a means of cashless payment, but also as part of the cashier's operational system. Frequent disruptions include program errors, display errors, total EDC shutdowns, line idles, and “please try again” messages. Until now, the process of reporting and repairing EDC malfunctions has been done manually by submitting a request to the bank, which often makes the diagnosis and repair process slow and inefficient. This is exacerbated by the limited technical information available to restaurant operators when customers experience disruptions. To overcome these problems, this study aims to develop an expert system for diagnosing EDC cash register malfunctions using the Decision Tree method, which is capable of mimicking the way an expert diagnoses EDC problems quickly and accurately. The Decision Tree method was chosen because it is capable of mapping the decision-making process based on attributes or symptoms that arise, to produce a conclusion in the form of the type of malfunction. This system was built using the PHP programming language and run locally using XAMPP as a web server. The research was conducted in a limited setting at the Jinjja Chicken Center Point restaurant in Medan, with five main malfunction categories as variables: Program Error, Display Error, EDC Completely Dead, Line Idle, and Please Try Again. The final result of this system development is expected to provide practical, efficient solutions that approximate the capabilities of an expert, as well as make a real contribution to the utilization of expert system technology to assist in the diagnosis of digital device damage in the service sector.

Abstract

Regional head elections (Pilkada) are a crucial instrument in Indonesia's democratic system. However, their implementation often faces transparency issues, such as allegations of fraud, money politics, and limited access to public information. To maintain public trust, election observers are needed whose performance can be objectively evaluated. This study developed a decision support system based on the Simple Multi-Attribute Rating Technique (SMART) method to evaluate the performance of election observers in North Sumatra Province. The SMART method was chosen because it can handle multi-criteria decision-making through a process of weighting, normalization, and ranking alternatives. Research data was obtained from documentation from the North Sumatra General Elections Commission (KPU) for the 2024 period, including criteria such as mobilization of state officials, intimidation, money politics, politicization of social assistance, violations of the quiet period, and findings at polling stations (TPS). The results indicate that the SMART-based evaluation system provides a more systematic, transparent, and accountable assessment mechanism. These findings are expected to provide policy recommendations for the KPU to improve the quality of monitoring and strengthen transparency in the implementation of regional elections.

Abstract

The rapid development of information and communication technology has made it an essential part of modern life. Among its many applications, the transmission of video data has become increasingly common, but ensuring its confidentiality and integrity remains a major challenge. Video messages, particularly those containing personal or sensitive information, are vulnerable to interception and unauthorized access when transmitted over public networks. To address this issue, cryptographic methods are employed to transform the original video file (plaintext) into an encrypted form (cipher text), which can only be decrypted with the correct key. Previous studies highlight that while RSA offers a relatively simple encryption mechanism, it is often considered insufficient as a standalone approach. Therefore, this study investigates the combined implementation of RSA and ElGamal algorithms to enhance video file security by leveraging the strengths of both techniques. The experimental results demonstrate that the integration of RSA and ElGamal algorithms can successfully encrypt and decrypt video files, ensuring data confidentiality. Encrypted videos cannot be accessed without the appropriate private key, which safeguards sensitive content from unauthorized parties. Furthermore, RSA is found to be simpler to apply, while ElGamal provides stronger security based on the discrete logarithm problem. Overall, the proposed system effectively maintains both the confidentiality and integrity of video files, thereby improving the security of multimedia data transmission.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menerapkan Sistem Pendukung Keputusan (SPK) dengan metode Fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process (F-AHP) untuk menentukan prioritas pelayanan di Kementerian Agama Kota Binjai. Metode F-AHP digunakan untuk mengatasi ketidakpastian dan subjektivitas dalam pengambilan keputusan multi-kriteria. Kriteria yang digunakan meliputi: Tingkat Kebutuhan Masyarakat, Dampak Sosial, Aksesibilitas Pelayanan, Kesiapan Sumber Daya, dan Dukungan Kebijakan/Regulasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Tingkat Kebutuhan Masyarakat merupakan kriteria paling dominan dengan bobot 1,0. Dari sepuluh alternatif pelayanan, Fasilitasi Perayaan Hari Besar Agama Non-Muslim dan Penyusunan Kurikulum Pendidikan Agama Non-Muslim di Sekolah memperoleh skor tertinggi (5,0), sedangkan Pengadaan Buku & Media Ajar Agama Non-Muslim memiliki skor terendah (1,0). Sistem yang dibangun menggunakan PHP dan MySQL mampu menghasilkan perangkingan yang objektif dan terstruktur, sehingga dapat mendukung pengambilan keputusan yang lebih akurat dan konsisten

Abstract

The heart is one of the important organs that humans have, whose function is to pump blood throughout the body and accommodate it again after cleaning the lungs. Heart rate beats per minute (bpm) is a parameter to show the condition of the heart, and the way to find out the condition of the heart is to know the frequency of the heart rate. This heart rate monitoring tool is designed based on the NodeMCU ESP8266 and a pulse sensor to detect heart rate. This study aims to make it easier to know the heart rate frequency in realtime. A heart rate monitoring tool based on NodeMCU ESP8266 has been designed with a pulse sensor to detect heart rate. Heart rate data from monitoring results will then be sent via a wifi network connection and displayed on the Smartphone.

Abstract

A lightweight file lifter car distribution device using Iot has been designed. This robot system uses the NodeMCU ESP8266 microcontroller where the NodeMCU ESP8266 functions as a data processor, and also a WI-FI network receiver emitted by a WI-FI network system. This robot car system uses a control system using an Android smartphone to control the movement of the wheels, this robot car uses a WI-FI network communication system so that the robot car system and Android smartphone can be connected, in this robot car system it uses a DC motor rotation direction drive driver which is The driver functions to move the direction of rotation of the DC motor on the wheels of the robot car. The power supply for this robot uses 3 3.7 Volt Li-Ion batteries which are arranged in series to get a 12 volt voltage, the 12 volt battery voltage goes first to the 7805 regulator IC circuit to get an output voltage of 5 volts, 5 volts voltage. this is what functions to supply the robot system so that it can be operated

Abstract

A health facility or health service facility is a tool or place used to carry out health service efforts, both in terms of promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative carried out by the central government, regional government or the community. This research contains development applications that cover every hospital, health center, and practice clinic located in the Langkat Regency area with the aim of facilitating the community in finding the nearest hospital, health center, and practice clinic. The application built can display the location of the health facility in map form and can display information in the form of name, address, telephone number, photo of the health facility, services available there, working hours, and further information on the place. In this study, the search for health facilities is only subject to distance as a health facility criterion, so that it can be developed further. To find the closest route to a health facility, here the author uses the Dijkstra Algorithm method which has been widely researched to be applied to the shortest route search system. This algorithm was invented by Edsger Dijkstra, a computer scientist from the Netherlands. The way Dijkstra's algorithm works is with a greedy strategy, namely at each step it chooses the side with the smallest value that connects the selected and unselected nodes/nodes. This algorithm requires a point of origin and a destination with the final result being the shortest distance from the point of origin to the destination along with the route.

Abstract

The number of diabetics worldwide is projected to increase by 204 million (48%), from 425 million in 2017 to 629 million in 2045. Indonesia ranks sixth out of ten countries with the most number of diabetics in the world or 10 million people. The majority of people with diabetes are between 20 and 64 years old, or 327 million people, compared to 123 million people between 65 and 99 years old. The incidence of diabetes increases by about 4.8% at the age of 55-64 years, and women (1.7%) suffer from diabetes more than men (1.4%). Therefore, the authors will create a program to determine the patient's diabetes. One approach is to use machine learning as a data mining classification technique. The author will do a classification comparison with the two methods, namely the KNN and CNN methods to provide the best results of the two methods for testing. So that the accuracy of the data from the diagnosis and photo images of the disease can be known to provide early treatment before the severity of the disease.
