Abstract

This study was conducted at SD Muhammadiyah Sei Cabang, a private school in Langkat Regency, which still uses manual examination methods with identical questions for all students. This method is considered ineffective because it allows students to cheat, leading to exam results that do not accurately reflect their abilities. To address this issue, the study developed a web-based examination system using the Linear Congruent Method (LCM) to generate randomized question numbers. With LCM, each student receives a different set of question numbers, making the exam process more effective and fair. The system was built using PHP programming language and MySQL database, enabling efficient data storage and processing. The implementation of this system resulted in improved accuracy in assessment and reduced cheating potential during exams at the school.

Abstract

This research develops an Internet of Things (IoT)-based guest face detection tool using ESP32-CAM to create a digital guestbook archive. The device distinguishes between guests and employees, with employee face data stored in a GitHub repository. When the device detects an unfamiliar guest face, a notification and photo are sent to a Telegram bot. If an employee's face is detected, a notification of the employee's name is sent to the Telegram bot. The method used is prototyping and the test results show that this tool is effective in detecting and digitally archiving guest visits.

Abstract

Globally, the WHO (World Health Organization) estimates that non-communicable diseases cause about 60% of deaths and 43% of diseases worldwide. Hypertension is a disease that occurs due to an increase in blood pressure in humans. It is difficult to know if a person has hypertension, without measuring the patient's blood pressure. According to the American Heart Association (AHA), the number of Americans over the age of 20 suffering from hypertension has reached 74.5 million, but nearly 90-95% of cases have no known cause. It is estimated that about 80% of the increase in hypertension cases will occur mainly in developing countries by 2025, from 639 million cases in 2000. This number is expected to increase to 1.15 billion cases in 2023. This study uses a quantitative approach with experimental methods to test the application of K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN) in the classification of hypertension diseases at the Stabat Health Center. The description of the results obtained is to make the right decision regarding when and how to treat the disease to prevent the worst possibility for patients by classifying the severity of hypertension both in normal circumstances, prehypertension, stage 1 hypertension, and stage 2 hypertension. The results of the trial show that the KNN model is able to provide accurate predictions based on patient history data available at Stabat Health Center.

Abstract

One of the systems that can be simulated is a queue. The queuing system consists of a collection of customer servers, a queue that regulates service to customers. The utilization of queuing simulations is to optimize services by designing service resources so that services can be effective and efficient. In the queuing system there are several problems that often occur, for example queuing queues, the number of queues will cause problems such as bored customers, and discomfort will make customers dissatisfied with the service. The Application of the Exponensial Method in the Dentist Patient Service Queuing System There are 28 general populations in this study, namely all consumers at the Kesrem Binjai Hospital, while the target population is the population that is actually used as a data source for patients who queue at the Kesrem Binjai Hospital to get the best service. is the target population in this study.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic that has hit Indonesia since 2020 has brought significant changes to various aspects of life, including the learning system in universities. Universities, which originally implemented face-to-face learning processes, were forced to adapt to online learning. However, this change causes various obstacles, especially for students who experience learning loss, namely a decrease in interest and motivation to learn which has an impact on academic achievement. This research aims to classify the factors that cause the decline in student learning achievement in the post-pandemic period at STMIK Kaputama using the C4.5 algorithm. Using data from STMIK Kaputama students as a sample, this research analyzes various factors such as access to technology, involvement in online learning, participation in face-to-face learning, social support, learning motivation, economic conditions, family, college, and academic stress levels. It is hoped that the results of this research will provide a deeper understanding of the dominant factors that cause a decline in learning achievement, as well as become a reference for educational institutions in developing strategies to overcome the negative impacts of online learning during the pandemic Keywords: C4.5 Algorithm, Decrease in Achievement, Data Classification

Abstract

Traditional safe security systems usually use manual keys and a combination of numbers or passwords to open the safe. This system has several disadvantages such as being easy to break into, cumbersome, and the owner easily loses the key, even forgets the password needed to open the safe, which causes the safe to be unable to open. This research develops an Internet of Things (IoT)-based safe security system that uses two security options to open the safe, namely face detection and fingerprint authentication to increase security against unauthorized access with a prototype method. The system uses the ESP32-CAM to capture facial images and send them to the Telegram app for manual verification by the owner, while the fingerprint sensor ensures only registered users can open the safe. Arduino Uno serves as the main microcontroller to manage the integration between components such as ESP32-CAM, fingerprint sensor, relay, solenoid lock, LCD, and buzzer. The test results show that this system is effective in providing security to the safe through notifications, although it still relies on manual verification of faces via Telegram and requires a stable internet connection, and fingerprints that have been registered are successfully implemented. Further development is recommended to automate face recognition and improve the overall performance of the system.

Abstract

Bullying is a violent act intended to cause harm or humiliation to another person. Bullying can take many different forms, including verbal and nonverbal, and it frequently targets people who are thought to be weaker or different. Nevertheless, because many bullying incidents go unreported, it is challenging to gather reliable statistics on the prevalence of bullying. In this study, the number of bullying cases in the field of education is estimated using a linear regression approach. This algorithm is used because it may estimate based on pertinent data, like the gender-based type of bullying and data on the quantity of bullying events that occurred in the preceding year. According to the study's findings, 2,250 bullying incidences are predicted for the upcoming year 2024, with a MAPE (Mean Absolute Percentage Error) of 0,07% or an accuracy level of 99,3%, categorized as highly accurate forecasting results.

Abstract

In rapidly urban environments, air quality has become an important issue that affects public health and the environment. This research aims to design and implement a prototype of an IoT-based air quality monitoring device that can be used to monitor air conditions in urban environments. This prototype uses the DHT11 sensor for measuring temperature and humidity, the MQ135 sensor to detect the concentration of air pollutants such as CO, CO2, ALCOHOL, TOLUENE, NH4, and ACETONE, and an OLED LCD for displaying information. This system uses the NodeMCU ESP8266 as a microcontroller that connects devices to the internet and sends data to the Blynk application platform. The Blynk application serves as a user interface that allows for real-time monitoring of the device through a smartphone. With this system, users can obtain real-time air quality data to protect health and the environment in urban areas. The prototype evaluation shows that this system is effective in monitoring and displaying air quality information, as well as providing easy access to data through the Blynk application.

Abstract

Plagiarism is a serious threat, especially to academic honesty, so a detection system that can analyze various types of documents is needed. This research develops a plagiarism detection system using Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to convert image text into digital text. Rabin – Karp algorithm with rolling hash and Dice Coefficient Similarity is applied to measure similarities between documents. Testing is carried out on .doc, .txt, .jpg files. As a result, the system can detect plagiarism well in clear text and image documents, but accuracy can decrease in low-quality images. In conclusion, the similarity of content, sentence structure, and format affects the degree of similarity, while OCR techniques work effectively even though they are limited to low-quality images.
