Abstract

Wadi merupakan produk fermentasi ikan tradisional khas Kalimantan Tengah yang memiliki cita rasa asam dan asin khas hasil fermentasi spontan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh variasi konsentrasi garam, samu (beras sangrai), dan lama fermentasi terhadap karakteristik organoleptik wadi ikan patin (Pangasius sp.) serta menentukan perlakuan terbaik. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah faktorial, dengan empat perlakuan konsentrasi garam (6,25%, 12,25%, 25%, dan 50%), empat kadar samu (5%, 10%, 20%, dan 40%), serta empat waktu fermentasi (3, 4, 6 dan 8 hari) yang dilakukan secara anaerob pada suhu ruang. Uji organoleptik dilakukan oleh 25 panelis terhadap parameter warna, aroma, rasa, dan tekstur dengan memilik variasi paling disukai. Dari berbagai kombinasi perlakuan yang diuji, formulasi wadi dengan 50% garam, 10%  samu (beras sangrai) dan fermentasi selama 8 hari menunjukkan hasil terbaik, dengan skor kesukaan tertinggi untuk rasa (8,1), aroma (7,9), warna (7,8), dan tekstur (8,0). Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa keseimbangan antara kadar garam, sumber karbohidrat (beras), dan waktu fermentasi sangat berperan dalam pembentukan cita rasa khas wadi. Kombinasi tersebut dapat direkomendasikan sebagai formulasi optimal dalam proses pembuatan wadi ikan patin khas Kalimantan Tengah yang berpotensi dikembangkan menjadi produk pangan fermentasi unggulan lokal dengan nilai ekonomi dan daya saing yang lebih tinggi.

Abstract

Callicarpa longifolia Lam. (sangkareho) secara tradisional digunakan sebagai obat herbal untuk mengatasi diare dan mempercepat penyembuhan luka. Kulit batangnya diketahui kaya akan metabolit sekunder yang berpotensi sebagai antibakteri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi golongan senyawa metabolit sekunder melalui skrining fitokimia serta mengevaluasi aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak etanol kulit batang terhadap Staphylococcus aureus dan Escherichia coli. Ekstraksi dilakukan dengan metode maserasi dengan etanol 96%, skrining untuk alkaloid, flavonoid, tanin, saponin, terpenoid, dan steroid, serta uji difusi cakram pada konsentrasi 20%, 40%, 60%, dan 80% (tiga replikasi). Data dianalisis menggunakan ANOVA satu arah dan uji Tukey HSD. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan ekstrak daun sangkareho mengandung alkaloid, flavonoid, tanin, terpenoid, dan steroid; menghambat S. aureus dengan diameter zona hambat 6,73 mm, 8,23 mm, 11,18 mm, dan 12,73 mm secara bertingkat sesuai konsentrasi, tanpa inhibisi terhadap E. coli. Konsentrasi optimal yang menghambat S. aureus adalah 60% berdasarkan analisis SPSS.

Abstract

Sungkai (Peronema canescens Jack.) merupakan tanaman yang secara tradisional dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat Kalimantan sebagai obat herbal, terutama melalui rebusan daun dan kulit batangnya. Namun, penelitian mengenai keberadaan dan potensi bakteri endofit pada tanaman sungkai masih sangat terbatas, padahal bakteri endofit diketahui hidup dalam jaringan tanaman dan berpotensi menghasilkan metabolit sekunder bioaktif. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengisolasi isolat bakteri endofit yang berasosiasi dengan daun sungkai. Metode penelitian dilakukan dengan isolasi bakteri endofit dari daun sungkai, dilanjutkan mengkarakterisasi jumlah isolat yang diperoleh melalui pengujian maksroskopis Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa isolat bakteri endofit dari daun sungkai berhasil diisolasi dan diperoleh satu isolat bakteri endofit dari daun sungkai, dengan karakter makroskopis berbentuk bulat, dengan permukaan datar dan warna krem.

Abstract

This study focuses on the utilization of ironwood as an activated carbon adsorbent to remove heavy metal mercury (Hg). The background of the problem includes mercury pollution from various industrial sources and its harmful impacts on the environment and human health. The purpose of this study was to develop an effective method for adsorbing mercury using natural ironwood materials. The research method involves the synthesis of activated carbon through pyrolysis and chemical activation processes, followed by a series of adsorption tests on mercury with variations in pH conditions, contact time, and acid concentration. The research data showed that the optimum adsorption capacity was achieved at a mercury concentration of around 500 ppm, with high adsorption efficiency at pH 1 and a contact time of 80 minutes. The results also showed that the adsorption kinetics followed a second-order model with a rate of 0.017119 g/mg.min. In conclusion, the mercury adsorption process using activated carbon from ironwood followed the Langmuir isotherm model, with an adsorption capacity of 63.036 mg/g, indicating that the adsorbent had been successfully synthesized and had an effective ability to remove mercury.

Abstract

Many rimbang harvests, which are local vegetables from Central Kalimantan, are damaged and then thrown away because they are not marketable. This is clearly due to the relatively short shelf life of rimbang fruit. Farmers who depend on the harvest as their main source of income will certainly be disadvantaged by this. In addition, rotten rimbang vegetables will have a negative impact on the environment because they produce methane gas, one of the gases that causes global warming. So this community service program innovates rimbang, where rimbang is made into a syrup drink. Rimbang syrup can be a new innovation to create new products that are competitive, have high selling value, and are durable. The implementation of the community service program took place in the Habaring Hurung Village farmer group, Bukit Batu District, Palangka Raya City, Central Kalimantan Province. This activity program was carried out through 4 stages of activities, including location surveys, collection of raw materials, training in making eggplant dodol, and success indicators. The success indicators were carried out using the pre-test and post-test methods filled out by the activity participants in the form of a questionnaire. Based on the results of the activity, it can be concluded that this activity is able to increase insight and ability on how to make syrup with rimbang as the basic ingredient, even the residents can implement and apply this food innovation independently.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to assess the adsorption capacity of activated carbon derived from meranti wood (Shore spp) for mercury (Hg) removal from liquid waste. To establish the relationship between concentration and absorbance, the method employed involves calibrating mercury concentration using calibration curves. Additionally, the effects of pH and exposure time on adsorption capacity were examined. The results indicate that activated carbon from meranti wood can significantly adsorb mercury, achieving an efficiency level of 97.610% at pH 3, with adsorption stability reached within 80 minutes at an adsorption rate of 94.30%. The conclusions drawn from this study suggest that activated carbon from meranti wood is a sustainable and effective solution for addressing mercury contamination in wastewater. It also highlights the importance of regulating pH and exposure time. This research contributes significantly to the development of environmentally friendly methods for water purification.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan di Kelurahan Habaring Hurung, Kecamatan Bukit Batu, Kota Palangka Raya, dengan fokus pada peningkatan pengetahuan serta keterampilan masyarakat dalam memanfaatkan bawang dayak (Eleutherine palmifolia) sebagai teh celup herbal untuk membantu menurunkan kadar gula darah. Pelaksanaan program menggunakan pendekatan partisipatif yang mencakup sosialisasi, diskusi interaktif, demonstrasi, praktik langsung, serta evaluasi melalui pre-test dan post-test. Sebanyak 50 orang berpartisipasi, terdiri atas ibu rumah tangga, kader PKK, tokoh masyarakat, remaja, hingga warga lanjut usia yang berisiko diabetes. Hasil kegiatan memperlihatkan peningkatan yang sangat signifikan: pemahaman masyarakat meningkat dari 11,2% pada pre-test menjadi 97,2% pada post-test. Selain itu, keterampilan peserta dalam mengolah bawang dayak menjadi teh celup higienis juga semakin baik, sehingga mereka mampu menerapkan teknik pengolahan dengan benar. Dampak program ini tidak hanya meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat terhadap pentingnya pemanfaatan tanaman obat lokal, tetapi juga membuka peluang usaha mikro berbasis herbal yang bernilai ekonomi. Dengan demikian, kegiatan ini dapat dijadikan contoh model pemberdayaan masyarakat yang berkelanjutan, yang mendukung ketahanan kesehatan sekaligus perekonomian rumah tangga berbasis kearifan lokal.

Abstract

The Green Initiative conducted in Tumbang Habaon Village, Tewah District, Gunung Mas Regency, Central Kalimantan, aimed to improve environmental awareness and strengthen community capacity in the cultivation and sustainable management of potential plant species. Using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, the program involved socialization activities, technical training, and the collaborative planting of 2,000 trees, including guava, petai, and jengkol. Community members received guidance on proper planting techniques, land preparation, and plant maintenance. The activity successfully increased community understanding of environmental conservation from 40% to 80%. The planted trees showed an 85% survival rate within the first six months, supported by routine mentoring. The program also generated early economic benefits for 50 households through the introduction of productive tree species and contributed to reducing flood risks and improving local biodiversity. Challenges faced during implementation—such as limited availability of quality seedlings and initial community reluctance—were addressed through cooperation with local government stakeholders. Overall, the Green Initiative serves as a practical community service model that promotes environmental sustainability, community participation, and local empowerment, with potential for replication in other rural villages facing similar environmental issues.

Abstract

Abstrak: Limbah pertanian selama ini dibakar atau dibuang sembarangan menyebabkan pencemaran dan kerusakan lingkungan. Melalui pelatihan dan pendampingan, masyarakat diberikan pemahaman serta praktik langsung dalam mengolah limbah organik menjadi produk bernilai ekonomis. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran dan keterampilan masyarakat dalam pengelolaan limbah pertanian melalui teknologi biokonversi menjadi pupuk organik. Metode yang dilakukan yaitu dengan cara memberikan sosialisasi dan pelatihan terkait pestisida alami pupuk organik sebagai inovasi pemanfaataan limbah biomassa pascapanen kelompok tani suka maju dengan peserta 30 orang. Selanjutnya dilakukan evaluasi dengan metode pre-test dan post-test sebanyak 10 soal pilihan ganda yang diisi oleh peserta kegiatan dalam bentuk kuisioner. Hasil evaluasi dari kegiatan ini telah mencapai seluruh indikator keberhasilan yaitu kehadiran peserta 100% dari seluruh undangan yang disebar dan pengetahuan peserta mengalami peningkatan berdasarkan hasil pre-test (50,25%) dan post-test (90,25%) yang telah dilakukan sebelumnya.Abstract: Agricultural waste has been burned or disposed of carelessly, causing pollution and environmental damage. Through training and mentoring, the community is given an understanding and hands-on practice in processing organic waste into products with economic value. It is hoped that the results of the activity will show increased knowledge, reduced dependence on synthetic fertilizers, and the creation of new business opportunities based on sustainable agriculture. This activity aims to increase community awareness and skills in managing agricultural waste through bioconversion technology into organic fertilizer. The method used is by providing socialization and training related to natural pesticides and organic fertilizers as an innovation in utilizing post-harvest biomass waste from the Suka Maju farmer group with 30 participants. Furthermore, an evaluation was conducted using pre-test and post-test methods filled out by the activity participants in the form of questionnaires. The evaluation results of this activity have achieved all indicators of success, namely 100% participant attendance from all invitations distributed and participant knowledge has increased based on the results of the pre-test (50.25%) and post-test (90.25%) that have been conducted previously.

Abstract

Abstrak: Stunting masih menjadi masalah kesehatan serius di Indonesia, khususnya di Kalimantan Tengah dengan prevalensi mencapai 27,4%. Permasalahan utama di Kelurahan Habaring Hurung adalah rendahnya pemanfaatan sumber daya pangan lokal yang kaya nutrisi, salah satunya rimbang (Solanum ferox Linn). Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan kader posyandu dalam pencegahan stunting melalui pelatihan pengolahan rimbang menjadi jajanan sehat bergizi. Metode yang digunakan meliputi sosialisasi, penyuluhan, workshop, dan praktikum, dengan melibatkan 20 kader posyandu sebagai mitra. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui pre-test dan post-test berupa soal pilihan ganda sebanyak 5 soal dan 5 soal untuk tipe soal skala point 1-5, serta penilaian keterampilan praktik. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan kader sebesar 65% dan keterampilan pengolahan meningkat hingga 70%. Selain itu, 40% kader mulai memasarkan produk olahan rimbang sebagai usaha rumahan, sehingga berkontribusi pada peningkatan ekonomi keluarga. Program ini berhasil memberdayakan kader posyandu sebagai agen perubahan yang mampu mengedukasi masyarakat dan menyediakan alternatif pangan sehat berbasis potensi lokal.Abstract: Stunting remains a serious health problem in Indonesia, especially in Central Kalimantan, with a prevalence of 27.4%. The main problem in Habaring Hurung Village is the low utilization of local food resources that are rich in nutrients, one of which is rimbang (Solanum ferox Linn). This community service activity aims to increase the knowledge and skills of posyandu cadres in preventing stunting through training in processing rimbang into healthy and nutritious snacks. The methods used included socialization, counseling, workshops, and practical training, involving 20 posyandu cadres as partners. Evaluation was conducted through pre-tests and post-tests consisting of 5 multiple-choice questions and 5 questions on a 1-5 point scale, as well as practical skills assessment. The results of the activity showed a 65% increase in the cadres' knowledge and a 70% increase in their processing skills. Additionally, 40% of the cadres began marketing processed rimbang products as a home-based business, thereby contributing to improved family economics. This program successfully empowered posyandu cadres as agents of change capable of educating the community and providing healthy food alternatives based on local potential.
