Abstract

Tulungagung Batik is a culture that needs to be introduced to chemistry students. One of the efforts is to provide a chemistry booklet with the theme Batik Tulungagung. Students have never used booklets based on ethnoscience. This research aims to develop a chemistry booklet based on Tulungagung Batik ethnoscience, describing the feasibility and student responses to the booklet developed. The research method used is research and development using a 4D model. This research involved 67 students who filled out questionnaires, three lecturers as validators, and five students who were interviewed. The instruments used are a needs questionnaire, interview sheet, validation sheet, and response sheet. Data in the form of suggestions and interview results were processed qualitatively, while data from validation and questionnaires were processed descriptively qualitatively. The research results showed that the suitability of the Tulungagung Batik ethnoscience booklet in terms of content was 95.24%, a presentation was 94.44%, language was 90.37%, and graphics was 90.67%. The student response to the Tulungagung Batik ethnoscience booklet was 85.86%. Thus, the booklet developed is very good for use as an independent learning resource in studying chemistry.

Abstract

Abstract Health is a condition of physical, mental, spiritual, and social prosperity that allows a person to live a productive life (Law No. 36/2009). Knowledge of drugs is important for the public to avoid the use of counterfeit and illegal drugs, which according to the WHO includes drugs without active ingredients, different ingredients, or with strength that does not match the label. The Community Service Program has been carried out to increase public knowledge, primarily through the role of women, about the dosage form, packaging, safety, and stability of drugs. The activity was carried out using a lecture and discussion method and involved 45 participants from 17 women's organizations in the Magetan area. The results showed that this program succeeded in increasing participants' understanding of drug dosage form, packaging, safety, and stability. This activity also received a positive response from the participants and was reported by local media. The community service program successfully increased the community's knowledge and understanding of drugs and drug stability, thus strengthening SDGs 3. Abstract

Bali is renowned as a tourist island rich in local wisdom, one of which is the traditional herbal remedy loloh cemcem from Penglipuran Village, Bangli Regency. This herbal drink has long been used to maintain health and alleviate internal heat. However, the loloh cemcem products produced by the local community still fall short of the standards for quality traditional medicine preparations, particularly in terms of product quality, packaging, and labeling. Through a community service initiative, activities such as observation, education, training, and mentoring were conducted for local entrepreneurs, focusing on proper selection of raw materials, hygienic production processes, safe packaging practices, accurate labeling of composition, and the implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The training, attended by more than 20 participants from MSMEs and youth organizations (karang taruna), aimed to enhance public understanding of the benefits and importance of high-quality herbal products. It is hoped that loloh cemcem can evolve into a safe, high-quality, efficacious, and competitive traditional beverage. Furthermore, product innovation may serve as an alternative strategy for developing loloh cemcem preparations and expanding their recognition among the wider public.
