Abstract

Keluarga memiliki kontribusi terhadap perkembangan calon mahasiswa khususnya saat memilih jurusan di sebuah perguruan tinggi. Memilih jurusan di sebuah peguruan tinggi bagi setiap calon mahasiswa tidak dapat dipisahkan dari dukungan keluarga. Banyak calon mahasiswa di indonesia ketika memilih jurusan masih dipengaruhi dukungan keluarga saat mengambil sebuah keputusan, hal ini tidak terlepas dari peran keluarga khususnya orangtua sebagai pendidik pertama dan utama dalam kehidupan anaknya terutama ketika seorang anak akan memutuskan suatu hal yang berkenaan dengan pendidikan dan karir nya di masa depan. Penelitian ini bertujuan medeskripsikan faktor dukungan keluarga dalam mempengaruhi minat mahasiswa memilih jurusan pendidikan matematika. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di IAIN Padangsidimpuan dan partisipan penelitian merupakan 43 mahasiswa program studi tadris/pendidikan matematika di IAIN Padangsidimpuan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif dan teknik analisis persentase. Hasil analisis faktor dukungan keluarga dibagi menjadi lima kategori dalam mempengaruhi minat mahasiswa memilih jurusan pendidikan matematika  yaitu: a) berpengaruh sangat tinggi 5%, b) berpengaruh tinggi 23%, c) berpengaruh sedang 49%, d) berpengaruh rendah 16%,  dan e) berpengaruh sangat rendah 7%.

Abstract

Mathematics is part from a human activity; it cannot be separated from daily human life, both in theory and in practice. Problem solving is the most important topic in learning Mathematics. However, problem solving is a complex process that has many components. One of them is the difficulty of students in answering the questions about how to find the area of polygon. Students are hard to find out two or more shapes contained in polygon. The students are hard to find unknown measurements, because they do not understand the questions. Therefore, teachers should give guidance to the students in order to help them to solve problems correctly. The purpose of this study was to analyze students’ difficulties to solve the problems of the polygon area questions for the fourth grade of one state elementary in Padang Sidimpuan City. There were 33 participants consisting of 16 male and 17 female students. The students were given a problem solving test and the questions were related to a wide area of polygon consisting of five questions. The findings of the study indicated that students were hard to find solutions to solve mathematical problems of the polygon area flat shapes in class, suggesting that teachers should strive to develop students’ critical thinking as well as creative thinking so they will have a good problem solving skills.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to describe the students’ error in measurement materials in terms of learning style. This is a qualitative descriptive research. The subject of this research was 6 students with each of the two students in visual learning styles, auditory learning styles, and kinesthetic learning style. The research instruments were questionnaire, test, interview, and observations. Data analysis activities were data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/ verification. The technique of data analysis used interactive techniques with these three procedures. The result of this research showed that the students’ error with visual learning styles in solving units, size, and time included material concepts errors and the use of mathematical unit; this is because teachers tend to use the lecture method in learning. The students’ errors with auditory learning style in solving unit, size and time included in interpreting data, determining formulas and errors in counting. The cause of this error is not remembering the concept and hurrying in solving math problems. The students’ error with kinesthetic styles in solving unit, size and time included student errors identifying elements and language interpretation, errors in language use, and conceptual errorst.

Abstract

The background of the problem in this study is that many students are confused and do not understand how to operate integers in a positive form with positive, positive with negative, negative with positive, and negative with negative. The formulation of this research problem is how to learn integer operations in 1st grade class (VII-2), how students behave in learning integer operations in 1st grade class (VII-2), and how student learning outcomes in learning integer operations in 1st grade class (VII-2). The purpose of this study was to find out integer operating learning in 1st grade class VII-2, to find out the attitudes of students in learning integer operations in 1st grade class (VII-2), and to find out student learning outcomes in integer operating learning in 1st grade class (VII-2) MTs.S NU Paringgonan Ulu Barumun Sub-district. This research is descriptive qualitative research, namely research intended to investigate the circumstances, conditions or other things that have been mentioned, the results of which are presented in the form of research reports. The data needed are observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study are (1) Learning integer operations in 1st grade class (VII-2) that the mathematics teacher in 1st grade class (VII-2) describes integer operations by carrying out preliminary activities, core activities, and closing activities. (2) The attitude of students in learning integer operations in 1st grade class (VII-2) is not good, like many students who pay less attention and respect for the teacher during the learning process. (3) Student learning outcomes reach a value of 50 - 80, namely 30 students who do not complete or 88% and 4 students who complete or 12% with the results of the average value is 60, which is not good.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertitik tolak dari masalah struktur kognitif yang terbentuk dalam diri siswa belum tersusun dengan sempurna. Hal ini ditemukan bahwa siswa sering lupa materi pelajaran matematika dalam waktu yang relatif lama. Diduga salah satu penyebabnya adalah karena kurangnya guru dalam memvariasikan pendekatan pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan deskripsi dan penjelasan tentang proses peningkatan motivasi dan hasil belajar siswa pada Topik Aritmatika siswa kelas VIII Putra SMP IT Bunayya Padangsidimpuan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Subjek penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII Putra SMP IT Bunayya Padangsidimpuan yang terdiri dari 27 orang siswa. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan lembaran observasi, catatan lapangan, wawancara dan tes hasil belajar. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran dengan pendekatan pendidikan matematika realistik dapat meningkatkan motivasi dan hasil belajar matematika siswa kelas VIII Putra SMP IT Bunayya Padangsidimpuan. Hal ini terjadi karena dengan pendekatan pendidikan matematika realistik, siswa mengalami proses matematisasi, berusaha bersama-sama dalam memahami materi pelajaran dan aktif berdiskusi dalam menuntaskan tugas belajarnya.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the effect of the seven major kinds of human intelligence identified by Howard Gardner (1983) on students’ ability to solve mathematical problems specifically in Algebra topic. This research involves about 115 participants randomly taken from whole tested population. Data collection was conducted by introducing test and questionnaire. The hypothesis examination resulted that hypothesis was accepted at index: Fcount 2.327 Ftable 2.09 in significance level α=0.05. By using the Scheffe’s formula, order of sequence of ability to solve algebra’s problems based on the intelligence types was: Logical-mathematics Bodily-Kinesthetic Intrapersonal Interpersonal Linguistics Spatial Musical.

Abstract

Elementary school sixth-grade students still experience misconceptions fractions causing low student mathematics learning outcomes. The purpose of this study is to find out the student's misconceptions in the fraction material. The type of research conducted is descriptive qualitative research. The subjects studied were 6 grade VI elementary school students, 2 subjects with high mathematical ability levels, 2 subjects with moderate mathematical ability levels, and 2 subjects with low mathematical ability levels. Data collection  methods  used  were  interviews  and  multiple-choice  tests  based  on  fraction material. The results of the study stated: (1) The students' dominant misconceptions in the concept of calculating fraction distribution operations. (2) Misconceptions experienced by students with high mathematical abilities are less than students with moderate and low mathematical abilities. With this research, the teacher can find out the students' misconceptions in the subject matter fractions and the teacher can be more maximal in teaching the concept of fractions. Keywords: Misconception, Fraction Material, Mathematical Ability

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Student Team Achievement Division(STAD) terhadap hasil belajar pokok bahasan meneladani ketaatan malaikat-malaikat Allah Swt kelas VII di SMP Negeri 3 Padangsidimpuan. Penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif melalui tes sebagai pengumpulan data dimana bentuk tes berupa pilihan berganda sebanyak 20 butir soal yang sudah valid. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada pengaruh penggunaan metode Student Team Achievement Division terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Hal ini dapat dilihat bahwa pokok bahasan meneladani ketaatan malaikat-malaikat Allah Swt kelas VII-8 di SMP Negeri 3 Padangsidimpuan yaitu nilai rata-rata kelas eksperimen dari 61.5 menjadi 83.46. Dengan menggunakan uji-t diperoleh thitungttabel yaitu 5.7 1.677 dengan taraf signifikan 0,05.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh yang signifikan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw terhadap hasil belajar pokok bahasan meneladani ketaatan malaikat-malaikat  Allah Swt kelas VII di SMP Negeri 1 Angkola Timur. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VII2 sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen penelitian ini adalah tes hasil belajar yang valid dan reliable. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Hal ini ditunjukkan dari hasil pengujian hipotesis dengan menggunakan uji-t menghasilkan nilai thitungttabel yaitu 3,80 1,98 dengan taraf signifikansi 0,05.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the fact that there are still many students who are less active in the learning process and still have difficulty answering the questions given by the teacher. The purpose of this study is to determine the application of the Mind Mapping learning model to improve students' Mathematics learning outcomes in class VIII-1 circle material of MTs Ja'fariyah Hutaibus. This research is a Classroom Action Research conducted using two Cycles, namely Cycle I with two Meetings and Cycle II with one Meeting. The instruments used are observations and tests in the form of test essays. The subject of this study was students in class VIII-1 MTs Ja'fariyah Hutaibus consisting of 27 students. The results of this study show that students’ learning outcomes are improving. It  can be seen from the scores and activities of students starting from pretests with a percentage of student completion of 19% (5 out of 27 students) with a grade point average of 48.33, Cycle I: 1st Meeting , percentage of completeness of sisiwa 52% (14 out of 27 people) with an average score of 78.81, Cycle I: 2nd Meeting, percentage of student completion 74% (21 out of 27 people) with an average score of 86.11 and Cycle II, 1st Meeting,  The percentage of student completion was 89% (24 out of 27 people) with an average score of 88.51. This shows that the application of the Mind Mapping learning model can improve mathematics learning outcomes for grade VIII-1 MTs Ja'fariyah Hutaibus students.
