Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of motivation and ability on business performance by considering the role of organizational commitment as an intervening variable in snack food MSMEs located in Central Bogor District. The samples used in this study were all snack food MSMEs that were actively registered and assisted by the Bogor City Cooperative and SME Office, with a total of 108 MSME units. The approach used in this research is descriptive and verification, with data analysis using the path analysis method. The results showed that motivation and ability have a direct and positive influence on organizational commitment and on business performance. In addition, organizational commitment acts as an intermediary variable in the relationship between motivation and ability to business performance. Based on these findings, it is recommended that business actors can further improve motivation, ability, and organizational commitment to encourage more effective business performance improvement.

Abstract

The role of Human Resources is very important to achieve company goals. Therefore, every company is required to increase employee work productivity in order to compete with other similar companies. This study aims to determine and analyze the direct and indirect effects of work discipline on employee work productivity through motivation at PT. Karya Sabar Mandiri. The population in this study were all employees of PT. Karya Sabar Mandiri as many as 52 employees using saturated sampling techniques, which were analyzed using IBM SPSS with the path analysis method. The results of the study showed that work discipline had a direct positive and significant effect on motivation, work discipline had a direct positive and significant effect on work productivity, motivation had a direct positive and significant effect on work productivity, work discipline had an indirect positive and significant effect on work productivity through motivation. Based on these findings, it is recommended that employees can improve their work discipline and motivation in each employee to increase their work productivity.

Abstract

Career development and a strong organizational culture are believe to enhance job satisfaction, which in turns encourages to remain with the company. This study aims to analyze the influence of career development and organizational culture on employee retention, with job satisfaction as an intervening variable, at PT Graha Karya Informasi. a descriptive quantitative approach was employed, involving 181 respondents, and the data were analyzed using path analysis. The results show that career development and organizational culture have a direct and positive effect on both job satisfaction and employee retention. Job satisfaction also has a direct and positive impact on employee retention, and it indireclty mediates the relationship between career development and organizational culture with employee retention. Based on these findings, it is recommended that the company strengthen career development programs and foster an organizational culture that supports job satisfaction and increases employees’ intention to remain with the organization.
