Abstract

Mindfulness has increasingly attracted attention in educational research due to its potential to enhance students’ learning outcomes and psychological well-being. While previous studies have highlighted its benefits in higher education and clinical settings, fewer discussions have focused on how mindfulness contributes to improving learning interest and emotional well-being in the school context. This article aims to explore and analyze the role of mindfulness in strengthening students’ motivation to learn and maintaining their emotional balance during the learning process. The research employs a qualitative approach through a literature review of five accredited journal publications published between 2018 and 2022 that examined similar issues with different research objects. The analysis reveals that mindfulness practices positively influence students’ engagement with learning and contribute to reduced academic stress, which in turn fosters greater emotional well-being. Findings further indicate that the implementation of mindfulness not only increases students’ learning interest but also creates a healthier learning environment. The study concludes that integrating mindfulness into school practices can be an effective strategy to balance academic demands with emotional stability. These findings imply the need for educators and policymakers to consider mindfulness-based approaches as part of broader efforts to improve the quality of teaching and learning in schools.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study aims to describe and analyze how Islamic values are integrated into the curriculum at public junior high schools in the Luwuk sub-district, and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors in their implementation. Methodology: This research employs a qualitative case study approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with teachers and school principals, direct classroom observations, and analysis of curriculum documents and syllabi. Data were analyzed descriptively through data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. Main Findings: The findings reveal that the integration of Islamic values is carried out implicitly through character strengthening, habituation programs, and contextual approaches across various subjects. Although not all schools apply this integration systematically, educators consistently strive to instill values such as honesty, responsibility, and tolerance. Key supporting factors include teachers' commitment and the reinforcement of school culture, while the main challenges involve limited training opportunities and the absence of standardized curriculum guidelines. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study offers new insights into the practice of integrating Islamic values into formal education at the junior high school level, focusing on local-level factors influencing its implementation. It also highlights the importance of empowering teachers and formulating clearer curricular policies to support the successful integration of these values.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study aims to examine the relationship between teachers’ emotional intelligence and classroom leadership dynamics in supporting the effectiveness of differentiated learning for students at Senrior high school Muhammadiyah Luwuk. Methodology: The research method used is a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and documentation involving teachers, students, and school principals. Data were analyzed using reduction, display, and verification techniques to gain an in-depth understanding of classroom leadership practices and teachers’ emotional intelligence. Main Findings: The results show that teachers with high levels of emotional intelligence tend to be more adaptive in dealing with classroom dynamics and are able to create an inclusive and participatory learning environment. Dimensions such as empathy, self-awareness and the ability to manage emotions play an important role in facilitating learning differentiation. In addition, transformational leadership style is proven to be effective in building positive relationships between teachers and students, which has a direct impact on improving student motivation and learning outcomes. In conclusion, teachers' emotional intelligence and dynamic classroom leadership are key factors in the successful implementation of differentiated learning. Novelty/Originality of this study: These findings provide important implications for teacher professional development and more targeted training design. Previous studies have mostly focused on the individual effects of emotional intelligence or teacher leadership on learning outcomes, while the dynamic interaction between the two in shaping differentiated learning practices is still an open area for further exploration.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study aims to identify and analyze the role of educational administration in improving the quality of learning in Senior high schools in Luwuk City. The main focus is to understand how effective educational administration can support a better learning process and address existing challenges at the school level. Methodology: This study adopts a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data was collected through semi-structured interviews with principals, teachers, and administrative staff from several high schools in Luwuk City. Data analysis was conducted using thematic analysis to identify key themes related to educational administration management and learning quality in schools. Main Findings: The results of the study show that good education administration can improve the quality of learning by managing time, budget, and resources more efficiently. However, the main challenges found are the lack of managerial training for administrative staff as well as budget constraints that affect the quality of available educational facilities and resources. Schools with more organized administration showed better management of learning activities and higher student participation. Novelty/Originality of this study: This research contributes significantly to education management by highlighting the importance of educational administration in enhancing learning quality, especially in areas with limited resources and managerial capacity. Additionally, it proposes a more systematic approach to educational administration management that can improve learning quality in Luwuk City High Schools, a local context seldom discussed in educational literature.
