This research aimed to know whether the use of the bandicam application as a teaching media can enhance students' writing skill in SMAN 18 Makassar.This research focused on pre-experimental research one group pretest and posttest. The population of this research was the tenth-grade students of SMAN 18 Makassar at the first semester 2021/2022 academic year. The writer took of 270 students as population. The data were obtained from the writing text. The results of the research used inferential analysis of t-test by SPSS v.16, showed that there was a significant enhance in the students’ mean score writing skill between the pretest and posttest. The mean score of the students’ writing enhanced from 51.04 in the pretest to 79.95 in the posttest. The significance value calculated 0.000 is smaller than 0.05 (P-value = 0.000 < 0.05). Therefore, the hypothesis of this study was accepted. It means that the use Bandicam Application As Teaching Media Can Enhance students writing skill at SMAN 18 Makassar. In addition, students' motivation after using this media also increased. The writer concluded that the use of Bandicam Application As Teaching Media in teaching English can enhance the students’ writing skill.

ABSTRACT The aim of this research was to find out if there is a significant difference before and after being taught GIST strategy in recount text for students in writing skill especially in summarization at SMPN 8 Makassar in the academic year 2021/2022. The data were collected through two tests, pre-test and post-test. The population of this research was students of SMPN 8 Makassar 2020/2022 academic year and the sample of this research was 33 students. Then the data collected by using writing test which was applied in pre-test and post-test, and the treatment was given before the post-test in treatment carried out using GIST Strategy. The process of this research took four meetings. The result of this study was analyzed by using Paired Sample Test on SPSS 26. According to the result of this research using GIST strategy could increase students’ writing summary. It was proven by the result of Paired Sample Test on pre-test and post-test scores, which show the value sig. (2-tailed) is 0.00. Therefore it means that there is a significant impact in this research using GIST strategy to increase students’ writing Summary. Key Words : Wrting Summary, Recount Text, GIST

This research was conducted with the aim of determining whether or not there was an improving in students' English vocabulary by using Spelling bee games in grade 7 students of SMP Negeri 8 Makassar. This study used a pre-experimental design with pre-test, post-test, and data analysis.The population in this study were students of SMP Negeri 8 Makassar for the 2021/2022 school year. the sample in this study was 36 students in grade 7.4. The results of this study were analyzed using a paired sample T-test on SPSS. According to the results of using the bee spelling game, it can increase the vocabulary of grade 7.4 students of SMP Negeri 8 Makassar.This can be seen based on the results of the Paired Sample T-test on the pre-test value the column is 0.00. Thus, it can be concluded that the Spelling Bee games can improve students' vocabulary skills in english learning at SMP Negeri 8 Makassar. Key Words: Spelling Bee, Games, Vocabulary

This research is aim to find out whether there is a significant influence of using Technology, Entertainment, and Design) TED-Talk media on students’ speaking skill. This research uses the pre-experimental research method. The population of this research is students of the second-grade of IPA 3 of SMAN 1 Mamuju in academic year 2021/2022. The number of the sample are 20 students. The researcher collected the data by giving pre-test, treatment, post-test, and questionnaire. The data of this research is analyzed by SPSS 24 version. The researcher conludes that there was significant influence of using TED-Talk media on students’ speaking skill. It supported by the results of mean score in pre-test and post-test. The mean score in pre-test was 42.60, while in post-test was 79.00. The results of this study shows that the significance value is 0.000, which is smaller than 0.05. It shows that the the alternative hypothesis is accepted and the null hypothesis is rejected. This means that there are significant influence of using TED-Talk on students’ speaking skill.

Micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are one of the main pillars of the national economy, with an independent perspective and great potential to improve welfare. This study aims to determine the form of empowerment that is carried out to MSMEs as an effort to improve the welfare of business owners in Makassar City, as well as the response of business owners related to the empowerment program that has been carried out by the local government, especially through the Cooperatives and MSMEs Service in Makassar. The population in this study is all business owners in Makassar, both those who have participated in empowerment programs from the government and those who have never participated in these programs. The sample in this study was 60 business people selected by purposive sampling by considering several criteria, both the type of business and the background of the business owner, so that the respondents in this study could be heterogeneous. In addition, interviews were conducted with academics. Research instruments are in the form of questionnaires and interview guidelines. The data were analyzed descriptively and qualitatively. The results showed that: 1) empowerment programs desired by business owners tended to lead to improvements in the quality of business products; and 2) empowerment programs focused on product marketing training. 2) Recommendations related to the results of research, namely: a) Every empowerment program to be carried out by the government should be prepared based on an analysis of the needs of the beneficiaries, in this case, business owners. b) Empowerment programs carried out by the government should be directed at improving the quality of business products, providing training in marketing products, or providing containers to business people to market their business products. c) The program held should be able to socialize well and evenly with all business owners. This can be achieved whenever information from the government is easily accessed by all businesses.

The objective of the research was to find out wheter using personal photograph method was able to improve studentsâ€™ writing skill at second grade of SMP Negeri Makassar. This Research was used experiment method and research subjects are students of SMP Negeri 35 Makassar Class VII (1). This Research takes students of class VIII (1) totaling 30 Students. In this research was conducted pre-test, treatment, and post-test. Data obtained through the provision of pre-test and post-test. the result showed differences in the average value of the each test. The average value of students in pre-test 65.56 and post-test was 93.30. This shows that the personal photograph method the positive effect on studentsâ€™ writing skills class VIII (1) SMP Negeri 35 Makassar.

Episodic memory is the memory subsystem that stores information about the episodes or events in our lives. It refers to our ability to recall personal experiences from our past. Strategy in using episodic memory according to Jensen (1998) are (1) Embed emotions in the learning. (2) We remember material best when it is structured and meaningful. (3) Attitude is important. (4) Learners remember much more when the learning is connected to a field trip, music, a disaster, a guest speaker, or a novel learning location. Episodic memory can be used as teaching method to help the students to improve their ability in writing, vocabulary, and speaking. Teaching English using episodic memory make students can more explore their critical thinking

Cross-Cultural Communication can be defined simply as a comprehensive way to examine similarities and differences between L1 culture and the target culture. It is a basic skill that the students need for developing an intellectual and emotional appreciation of cultures other than their own. Cross Cultural Communication can develop studentâ€™s cultural competencies as they experience lifelong learning. For specific cases, they can practice in stimulated exercises in order to develop their cultural competencies by bringing cultural exposure into the classroom for the specific purpose of teaching the target language culture. Since cultural competence enhancement is not static, the studentsâ€™ interaction in multicultural life, their roles as English teacher candidates, and their life learning experiences will help them become more mature and will lead them to the level of cultural competence proficiency.

Ethnography is a type of qualitative research that gathers observations, interviews, and documentary data to produce detailed and comprehensive accounts of different social phenomena. Ethnographic study helps in developing the theoretical base for problems in education of a particular group. Ethnographic research does not often start with a strong theoretical base, not it is much concerned with theory testing. There may be theory development, but formal theory enters research only after its relevance has been established. In ethnographic research, theory emerges from the data as grounded theory- not as preconceived theory. Ethnographic study helps in the development of a theory as it does not simply tabulate that a certain behavior has occurred, but it attempts to understand what the behavior means the persons under study.

This research aimed to investigate the students' perception of Learning English strategies in traditional and modern methods, with the main goal being to understand the preferences and the effectiveness they felt. The Traditional method, such as lecture-based instruction and doing exercises from textbooks, has been used for a long time in the English language learning process, while modern methods, including digital tools and interactive activity in learning, become more popular. The surveys and interviews with the students from Universitas Klabat which has different background majors who took General English classes in 2023/2024-year program, this investigation explores the students' perception of traditional and modern methods in the learning process. The findings showed that nevertheless, the Traditional method was acknowledged considering that it was structured and its detailed explication, on the other hand, the students considered that the modern method was more interesting and conducive to interactive learning. This study gave insights into the strengths and limitations of both methods and offered recommendations to integrate traditional and modern strategies to improve English Education.
