Abstract

This study aims to examine the concept of Islamic Parenting from the perspective of Islamic education and analyze Jamal Abdurrahman's thoughts on child rearing based on Islamic values. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Data collection was carried out using literature review, content analysis, and documentation methods. The results of the study show that Islamic Parenting is a process of child rearing based on Islamic values and centered on the teachings of tauhid as the main foundation of education. The instillation of tawhid from an early age is considered important to form a strong spiritual foundation, accompanied by the fulfillment of children's physical and spiritual needs. Parenting in Islam not only emphasizes physical aspects but also includes character building, worship habits, and instilling a love for the Qur'an and Sunnah to shape children's characters to be faithful and noble. In addition, Jamal Abdurrahman, in his work Aṭfālu al-Muslimīn Kaifa Rabbāhum an-Nabiyyu al-Amīn Ṣalallahu ‘Alaihi wa as -Salām, puts forward a concept of child education that is divided into five stages of development, infancy (0-3 years), childhood (4-10 years), early adolescence (11-14 years), late adolescence (15-18 years), and pre-marital age period. This division provides systematic guidance for parents and educators so that children's education can be optimally tailored to their stage of development and needs.

Abstract

This research examines the strategies employed by Pondok Pesantren Daarul Huda Li-Tahfidhil Qur'an Malang in shaping the noble character (akhlaqul karimah) of its students in the modern era. This study aims to identify comprehensive strategies implemented by the pesantren in maintaining traditional Islamic values while adapting to contemporary challenges. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews with kyai, ustadz, and students, as well as document analysis. The findings reveal that the pesantren employs five integrated strategies: (1) curriculum integration combining Qur'anic memorization with character education through kitab kuning such as Ta'limul Muta'allim and Akhlaq Lil Banin, (2) exemplary leadership from kyai and ustadz who serve as role models in daily interactions, (3) structured habituation through strict daily routines including congregational prayers and tahfidz schedules, (4) conducive environmental support with 24-hour boarding system, and (5) active parental involvement through regular communication. The main challenges include social media influence and diverse student backgrounds, which are addressed through digital literacy education and intensive orientation programs. This study concludes that the success of character formation depends on synergy among all components and consistent implementation of established Islamic values.

Abstract

The fundamental problem in the implementation of Qur’an memorization programs in Islamic higher education institutions is that many students struggle to maintain the quality of their memorization due to inadequate foundations in Qur’anic recitation and fluctuating motivation. This study aims to analyze the implementation and impact of integrating taḥfīẓ, taḥsin, and tadabur (3T) in improving the Qur’an memorization ability of students in the Al-Qur’an and Tafsir Studies Program at Universitas Darussalam Gontor. This study employs a qualitative approach with a field research design. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving students and lecturers or muhāfiẓ, and then analyzed using triangulation techniques. The findings show that taḥfīẓ enhances the quantity of memorization and student discipline, taḥsin improves accuracy of recitation and memorization stability, while tadabur strengthens verse comprehension and students’ intrinsic motivation. This study recommends strengthening individual mentoring, differentiating memorization targets, and optimizing the role of muhāfiẓ to ensure that the integration of the tahfid, taḥsin and tadabur is implemented more effectively and sustainably.

Abstract

Education plays a pivotal role in shaping a generation that excels not only academically but also in character and spiritual intelligence. This study aims to explore the strategies for developing Islamic character-based education at SD Islam Al Hidayah Sragen to enhance students spiritual intelligence. Using a qualitative descriptive method, data were gathered through observations, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using triangulation techniques to ensure validity. The findings reveal that development strategies are implemented through the systematic integration of Islamic values into daily activities, including congregational Dhuha prayers, Quran memorization, and the 5S program. A distinctive novelty in this study is the holistic synergy between schools and parents through home-activity monitoring instruments, alongside the installation of practical muamalah ethics via Market Day events. Consequently, these programmed habits significantly strengthen students faith (aqidah), Sharia, and morality (akhlaq) in an integrative manner. The study concludes that active stakeholder collaboration is the key to fostering resilient spiritual intelligence as a vital filter against globalization challenges and digital disruption.
