Abstract

This research is motivated by problems in learning students' Arabic speaking skills. The learning methods used need to be more appropriate. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a learning method that can motivate, and add to student practice, one of which is by developing communicative methods so that students practice frequently and combining it with Gagne's learning theory which pays attention to the learning phases so students are motivated. The research design used the ADDIE model. The results of this study proved that students and teachers need methods that can increase students' motivation and courage and familiarize students with practicing communication. Prototypes of learning methods are recorded and arranged like lesson plans based on the 2013 and independent curriculum. The assessment results of method experts, linguists, and teachers as practitioners for the development of the method obtained a total score of 363, included in category with a very good predicate.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a TTCT-Verbal instrument to measure students' creative thinking skills and Arabic creative writing that essential competence of 21st-century skills. The instrument was developed based on Torrance's (1970) verbal test indicators and al-Bari's Arabic creative writing (2009). The R&D method used the 4D model design of Thiaragajan (1974). The instrument was developed with 6 components of creative thinking: ask and guess, guessing causes, guessing consequences, product improvement activity, unusual use activity, and suppose activity, with 5 items covering descriptive writing, news, poetry, Arabic quotes, and short stories. Based on the results of the 3 experts' validation tests showed that the TTCT-Verbal instrument was very valid, with an average of 4.5, and then tested on 30 university students. The results of the instrument validity test showed that all items were valid, and the reliability test showed reliable results. Therefore, this instrument is suitable for measuring the level of creative thinking and Arabic creative writing.

Abstract

Universal Grammar (UG) gives an idea that the world's language formula is the same. Therefore, the Arabic grammar system (L2), which is considered complex, can be simplified with the simple logic of the first language (L1). Grammar logic L2 to L1 can be implemented in Communicative Language Teaching (CLT), which is synthesised from simple grammar and language themes to complex materials. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach that shows the preparation of teaching materials that combine UG and CLT. The data sources collected are scientific articles, library studies and lecture documents. The results of the research show that the communicative themes used for language practice can be structured in a series parallel to the UG material i.e. from simple SVO where the subject differs from the gender side to a complex SVO in which 1) subjects differ from the gender, numbers and pronouns, 2) verbs differ from the time, 3) objects differ from the gender, the number and pronouns.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the use and innovation of application-based Arabic learning media that Arabic language education lecturers in universities have carried out. This research uses a qualitative approach using observation, interview, and documentation data collection techniques. In contrast, the data analysis technique uses Miles and Huberman, which has three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The research results are first; most Arabic language education lecturers in universities use several platforms in teaching and learning activities such as E-learning Moodle, Google Classroom, Zoom Meeting, Google Meet, and WhatsApp Group. Meanwhile, Arabic Language Education lecturers at universities also make learning videos to make it easier to explain the material, which is then uploaded to YouTube. Second; Innovations developed by Arabic language education lecturers at universities include hyperlink-based LMS At-Talkhis, creating Powerpoint and Camtasia-based Learning Videos, creating Animation-based Learning Videos, and developing Evaluation Media based on Google Forms, Kahoot, and Quizizz.

Based on the analysis carried out in this study, using pictures influences student learning outcomes. The result of student pre-test of 5.84 before using picture media and the results of the student post-test after using the picture media are 7.19. Based on these results, it can be stated that the value of students in class III Intensive D TMI (female) increased by 20% in learning Muthala'ah lesson after using Picture media, and it can be concluded that picture media is effectively used in teaching and learning activities of Arabic language, especially on Muthala'ah lesson.

Abstract

Nadine Labaki's Capernaum represents the impact of poverty on the fulfillment of children's rights. In this article, the issue of poverty and its social consequences are analyzed through the story of the main character Zain, a street child who struggles with all forms of poverty in Lebanon. Using Gramsci's theory of hegemony, the research reveals how poverty, as a form of economic hegemony, affects children's lives and how they resist these conditions in their capacity as children. The analysis focuses on the representation of poverty and its influence on the fulfillment of children's rights, especially the rights to survival, protection, development, and participation. The research findings show that the film creates awareness of social issues, such as poverty and children's rights, and encourages children as members of society to take concrete actions against the hegemony. It is also a critique of the power that overrides children's rights and considers children as passive objects in society.

The methods that were used in this research are both qualitative and quantitative. Data collection methods used in this study include documentation, interviews, and observation. Qualitative data was analyzed using reduction, data presentation and conclusion stages and quantitative data was analyzed using frequency distribution. The results of this research show that students' biggest difficulties in vocabulary are at 80%, Arabic grammar at 15%, and language interference at 5%. Linguistic and non-linguistic factors are the two categories of elements that affect translation errors. Solutions provided along with continuing assistance. The continuous assistance strategies that are provided include text selection, reference usage, language structure discussion, direct correction, context analysis of the text, sensitivity to cultural nuances and consistency in practice. Abstract

This research examines the possibilities and limitations of using ChatGPT in learning Arabic as a foreign language. Using a descriptive method, this study presents theories regarding using ChatGPT in language learning and how it is practically applied in learning Arabic as a foreign language. It also highlights the limitations learners should consider when using this application correctly and effectively. This research indicates that ChatGPT can assist Arabic language learners as "smart students" and "smart learning partner." With this role, ChatGPT can help them complete tasks and assignments, create a flexible and personalized learning environment, and improve their language skills. However, learners should also be mindful of the limitations of using ChatGPT, especially regarding ethical aspects and the limitations of the technology itself. They should maintain academic ethics and avoid excessive dependence on ChatGPT, which could negatively impact their critical thinking abilities, engagement spirit, and learning motivation.
