Abstract

Adolescence is a stage characterized by rapid changes and challenges that can be difficult to face due to limited knowledge, particularly about HIV/AIDS. Knowledge plays a crucial role in shaping attitudes, which can influence changes in perceptions of premarital sex. The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between HIV/AIDS knowledge levels and teen attitudes towards premarital sex. The research employs a descriptive correlational method with a cross-sectional approach, involving 208 respondents selected through proportional stratified random sampling. Data collection was conducted using a questionnaire. The results revealed that 100 respondents (48.1%) fell into the adequate knowledge category, 90 (43.3%) were in the good knowledge category, and 18 (8.7%) were categorized as having poor knowledge. Regarding attitudes towards premarital sex, 198 respondents (95.2%) exhibited a positive attitude, while 10 (4.8%) displayed a negative attitude. The Spearman rank correlation test yielded a p-value of 0.05, indicating a significant relationship between knowledge and attitudes, with a very weak correlation in a positive direction. This means that as adolescents' understanding of HIV/AIDS increases, their attitudes become more positive. The study recommends adding resources about HIV/AIDS and premarital sex in schools and suggests that future research should focus on selecting appropriate educational methods for HIV/AIDS prevention.

Abstract

Banyuwangi has the largest tsunami disaster risk in East Java, about 45,305 affected people, Rp. 160,886,000,- for the risk of physical losses, Rp. 106,414,000,- for the risk of economic losses and 84 ha of environmental losses (BNPB, 2023). In addition, according to historical data, Banyuwangi was hit by tsunami on June 9, 1994 with magnitude of 7.8 which caused a maximum run up of 14.0 m and killed 238 lives (BNPB, 2023). Also based on Undang- undang No. 24 Tahun 2007 concerning Disaster Management, Indonesia should have preventive and mitigation measures for tsunami disasters both before and after as an effort to reduce the disaster risk (Putra, 2009) . Tsunami modeling in southern Java using COMCOT v1.7 as tsunami worst case scenario in Banyuwangi is the first step for mitigation. The initial results of COMCOT were then used for preparing tsunami disaster evacuation route planning based on the Tsunami Natural Disaster Evacuation Route Planning Guidelines, Dirjen Bina Marga, 2023. The final step is validation/routing survey of the 8 (eight) routes that have been determined. 2 (two) of the 8 (eight) routes fulfill the guidelines for planning tsunami mitigation routes. However, all routes can be considered due to the distribution of settlements, the number of affected residents and the number of routes needed

Abstract

The study investigates the critical role of carbohydrate intake in maintaining glycogen stores and enhancing physical performance during prolonged exercise. The primary aim is to evaluate how carbohydrate consumption influences glycogen levels and athletic performance, focusing on intake types and timing. Utilizing a qualitative descriptive research model, the study conducts an extensive literature review, involving a thorough search of scientific databases such as Scopus, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar. Specific keywords like "Carbohydrates," "Glycogen Stores," and "Prolonged Exercise" guide the search for relevant articles. These articles are analyzed to extract and synthesize information on the relationship between carbohydrate intake and glycogen reserves during extended physical activities. The findings highlight that a daily carbohydrate intake of 6-12 g/kg body weight is essential for optimal glycogen levels and performance. Simple carbohydrates and fructose-glucose mixtures are particularly effective in enhancing recovery. Additionally, carbohydrate loading before intense exercise significantly improves glycogen stores and endurance performance. The study concludes that while adequate carbohydrate intake is vital for sustaining performance and facilitating recovery, further research is needed to explore the long-term effects and individual variations in carbohydrate nutrition strategies. This includes examining diverse exercise types, athlete profiles, and the interplay between carbohydrates and other dietary components
