Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of peer social support on premarital sexual behavior among adolescents in Muara Wahau District, East Kutai. The background of this research lies in the developmental dynamics of adolescence, which is highly vulnerable to social environmental influences, particularly from peer groups, in shaping attitudes and sexual behaviors. A quantitative approach with a correlational method was employed, involving 100 adolescent respondents aged 15–19 years selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using the Peer Support Questionnaire (PSQ) to measure peer social support and the Youth Sexual Behavior Inventory (YSBI) to assess premarital sexual behavior. The results of simple linear regression analysis indicate a positive and significant effect of peer social support on premarital sexual behavior (p < 0.05), with an R² value of 0.232. This finding suggests that higher levels of peer social support are associated with greater tendencies of adolescents to engage in premarital sexual activities. The study highlights that peer support can serve a dual role: either as a protective factor or as a risk factor, depending on the values embedded within the peer relationship. Therefore, it is crucial to develop healthy peer mentoring systems grounded in educational and value-based approaches to prevent risky sexual behaviors among adolescents.

Abstract

This Community Service (PKM) focuses on strengthening basic English literacy at the Dharma Satya Graha Foundation, Mekarjati Village, Indramayu. The background of this activity is the importance of early vocabulary mastery, faced with the main problem of low vocabulary mastery (the initial average is only 8-9 words per student) and the limitations of interactive teaching methods in the partner environment. The main objective of PKM is to introduce daily vocabulary and provide a fun alternative learning method to increase students' interest and basic English language skills. The activity was carried out for three weeks in three meetings, adopting a participatory Action Research approach with 45 subjects from early childhood to junior high school levels. The training method intervention is divided into two main techniques: First, vocabulary training using specially designed flash card media (A5 size, printed in color, with basic themes such as animals, colors, numbers, and body parts). Second, strengthening memory and verbal courage through singing English songs accompanied by movements. Data were analyzed descriptively comparatively (pre-test and post-test). The results demonstrated significant effectiveness of the intervention, with basic vocabulary mastery increasing by an average of 12–14 words per student. Effectively, the singing method also successfully increased children's enthusiasm and self-concept, as measured by an average score increase of 23.3% (from 45% to 68.3%). In conclusion, the combination of edutainment methods (visual and auditory/kinesthetic) is a practical and proven solution to address limitations in learning facilities and motivation.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of education in character formation in elementary school children and identify the forms of implementation and challenges faced in its implementation. Character education in elementary schools plays a strategic role because children are at the early stage of forming attitudes, values, and behaviors. This study used a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The research subjects included elementary school teachers and students, while the research object focused on the implementation of character education in learning and school culture. Data collection techniques used observation, interviews, and documentation to obtain comprehensive data. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions, using triangulation of sources and techniques to maintain data validity. The results indicate that education plays a significant role in character formation in elementary school children through teacher role models, the integration of character values into the learning process, and the instillation of these values through school culture and non-academic activities. The dominant character values formed include discipline, responsibility, honesty, cooperation, and social awareness. Consistently implemented character education has a positive impact on students' social behavior and learning motivation. However, this study also identified several obstacles in its implementation, such as limited learning time, differences in family backgrounds, and suboptimal parental involvement. Therefore, synergy between schools, teachers, and parents is necessary for effective and sustainable implementation of character education, fostering character and noble morals in students.

Abstract

This study examines restrictions on live streaming features on social media in the context of demonstrations, from the perspective of broadcasting law and the right to information in Indonesia. This study stems from the increasing use of live streaming as a means of conveying public information in real time, which on the one hand strengthens transparency, but on the other hand has the potential to spread provocative content and disrupt public order. This study uses a normative juridical approach with a literature review method on broadcasting regulations, human rights, and digital restriction practices. The results of the study show that live streaming restrictions can be justified under broadcasting law based on Law No. 32 of 2002, and are valid according to human rights principles as long as they are carried out in accordance with the law and for legitimate purposes. This conclusion reinforces the importance of balancing the protection of public order and the fulfillment of the right to public information. The implication of this study is the need for fair, transparent, and deliberative democracy-based regulations in governing digital broadcasting in the era of social media.

Abstract

Students are required to process mathematical problem-solving skills to meet the demands of 21St- century education. Various instructional models have been developed to enhance these skills, including the integration of Discovery Learning (DL) and Realistic Mathematics Education (RME). This study employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach by examining sixteen Sinta – indexed articles (levels 2-5) relevant to the topic of mathematical problem – solving abilities. The findings reveal that most studies applied Polya’s problem – solving strategy and emphasized the importance of contextual learning and systematic thinking processes. The integration of DL and RME has been Shown to be effective in optimizing problem – solving through independent concept discovery connected to real-life context. In addition to improving conceptual understanding, this combination also fosters students’ independence, creativity, and reflective thinking skills. Therefore, integrating DL and RME can serve as an innovative instructional alternative that support the strengthening of Higher – Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) in alignment with the goals of the Merdeka Curriculum
