Abstract

The increasing exposure of students to extremist religious narratives through digital media poses serious challenges for Islamic Education (PAI). This study aims to examine the effect of digital moderation-based PAI learning on students’ critical attitudes toward extremist religious narratives. Employing a quasi-experimental design, the research involved two groups of senior secondary students: an experimental group receiving PAI instruction integrated with digital moderation principles and a control group experiencing conventional PAI learning. Data were collected using a validated critical attitude scale administered through pretest and posttest procedures. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, normality and homogeneity tests, independent samples t-tests, and normalized gain analysis. The results indicate a statistically significant difference between the experimental and control groups’ posttest scores (p < 0.05). Students who participated in digital moderation-based PAI learning demonstrated a higher level of critical attitudes, particularly in analyzing religious arguments, evaluating the credibility of digital sources, and rejecting absolutist and intolerant claims. Furthermore, the experimental group achieved a moderate to high improvement level, while the control group showed only low improvement. These findings suggest that integrating digital moderation into PAI learning effectively strengthens students’ critical attitudes toward extremist religious narratives. This study contributes to the development of Islamic education pedagogy by providing empirical evidence on the role of digital moderation in countering religious extremism within formal educational settings.

Abstract

The rapid development of technology in the Society 5.0 era has increased the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in higher education, raising concerns about its impact on students’ computational thinking skills and digital literacy. This study aims to examine the influence and relationship between the intensity of AI usage and computational thinking as well as digital literacy among students of Islamic Elementary Teacher Education (PGMI) at Institut Attanwir Bojonegoro. A quantitative correlational design was employed involving 114 undergraduate PGMI students from various semesters. Data were collected through validated and reliable questionnaires measuring AI usage intensity, computational thinking skills, and digital literacy. Data analysis was conducted using Spearman’s rank correlation and simple linear regression. The results indicate that AI usage intensity has a positive and significant relationship with computational thinking skills, although the correlation is weak (r = 0.220) with a contribution of 3.6%. Conversely, AI usage intensity does not show a significant relationship or effect on students’ digital literacy. These findings suggest that while AI can support the development of computational thinking when used appropriately, it does not automatically enhance digital literacy. Therefore, pedagogical integration, critical engagement, and ethical guidance are essential to optimize the role of AI in developing students’ 21st-century competencies.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of social media on the national insight of students in the Pancasila and Citizenship Education (PPKn) Study Program at the University of Lampung. This study used quantitative methods with a descriptive approach. The sample size was 76 respondents, determined using simple random sampling. Data collection techniques used questionnaires and interviews, while data analysis used simple linear regression. Based on the results of calculations and hypothesis testing conducted by researchers regarding the influence of social media on the national insight of Civics (PPKn) students at the University of Lampung, the results showed that social media (Variable X) had an effect on national insight (Variable Y) of 30.9%. The results indicate that social media influences the national insight of Civics (PPKn) students at the University of Lampung. The use of social media carries the risk of triggering the spread of hoaxes and content that undermines national unity. However, social media also has a positive impact in influencing national insight, especially among students. Through participation, interaction, sharing of national content, and various types of educational content on social media, students can learn about and learn about various national issues and strengthen their understanding of the values of Pancasila and diversity. Based on this, it can be concluded that social media contributes to shaping national insight among Civics (PPKn) students at the University of Lampung.

Abstract

This study aims to describe efforts to improve Indonesian vocabulary mastery through the use of Interacty Education Games for second-grade students at SDN 112/I Perumnas. This research employed a mixed-method approach with Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, each consisting of two meetings. The subjects of the study were 18 second-grade students. Data collection techniques included observation and tests, while data analysis involved the stages of data presentation and conclusion drawing, using triangulation techniques to ensure data validity. The results showed that the application of Interacty Education Games was able to improve students' Indonesian vocabulary mastery gradually and sustainably. In the pre-action stage, the classical vocabulary mastery score was at 51.6% (Category D). After the action in Cycle I, the classical score increased to 56.8% in the first meeting and rose further to 61.1% in the second meeting. A more significant improvement occurred in Cycle II, where the classical score reached 65.4% in the first meeting and increased optimally to 77.9% in the second meeting. This improvement indicates that Interacty Education Games are effective in enhancing students' engagement, learning motivation, and understanding of Indonesian vocabulary.

Abstract

The implementation of digital learning in schools has not been optimal in improving students’ critical thinking skills because technology is still used merely as a medium, has not been managed systematically or in a goal-oriented manner, and has not effectively promoted higher-level cognitive engagement in line with the demands of the Merdeka Curriculum and the development of High Order Thinking Skills. This study aims to examine the implementation model of digital learning based on the Maze educational game in improving students’ critical thinking skills through a Management by Objectives approach. The study employs a qualitative case study design using observation, interviews, and documentation with thematic analysis. The findings indicate that Maze-based learning is planned systematically with measurable objectives, implemented in an active and student-centered manner, and supported by continuous monitoring and evaluation. Supporting factors include teachers’ digital literacy, school principal leadership, the availability of digital facilities, and a collaborative culture, while inhibiting factors include technical constraints, differences in students’ abilities, and limited instructional time.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis secara mendalam peran media sosial TikTok dalam upaya pelestarian budaya Batak oleh remaja Generasi Z (Gen Z) di tengah arus globalisasi. Fenomena Gen Z sebagai digital native dan karakteristik TikTok yang visual serta viral memberikan konteks baru bagi pelestarian warisan budaya lokal. Penelitian kualitatif deskriptif ini menggunakan teknik wawancara mendalam kepada remaja Batak Gen Z yang aktif memproduksi dan berinteraksi dengan konten budaya di TikTok, didukung oleh analisis konten terhadap unggahan yang relevan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa TikTok berperan secara signifikan melalui tiga aspek utama: instrumental (sebagai medium ekspresi kreatif adat dan seni Batak), edukatif (sebagai sarana transmisi pengetahuan filosofi dan bahasa Batak), dan promotif (memperluas jangkauan budaya Batak secara global melalui viralitas). Gen Z memanfaatkan fitur TikTok untuk memodifikasi tarian (Tor-Tor) dan bahasa (Hata Batak) agar tetap relevan dan menarik. Meskipun efektif dalam mempertahankan identitas di ruang digital, terdapat tantangan berupa risiko simplifikasi dan perdebatan otentisitas kultural demi popularitas. Secara keseluruhan, TikTok menjadi katalisator bagi pergeseran model pelestarian budaya Batak dari ranah tradisional ke ranah digital yang dinamis, menempatkan Gen Z sebagai agen kunci dalam menjaga keberlanjutan warisan leluhur.

Abstract

Dance education at the senior high school level plays a strategic role in fostering students’ creativity, self-expression, and aesthetic sensitivity. However, in practice, dance learning often encounters challenges related to low levels of student activeness, both in participating in learning activities and in expressing dance movements. This article aims to describe the implementation of varied teaching methods in dance learning as an effort to enhance student activeness at SMA Negeri 10 Kaur (Pentagon). This study employed a qualitative approach using a descriptive method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that the application of varied teaching methods such as demonstration, drill exercises, discussion, group work, and the use of audiovisual media had a positive impact on increasing student activeness. Students demonstrated higher enthusiasm, greater confidence in participating, and more active engagement throughout the learning process. Therefore, varied teaching methods can be considered an effective instructional strategy for improving student activeness in dance education.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model and learning motivation on students' mathematics learning outcomes. The study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and a nonequivalent control group design. The subjects consisted of an experimental class implementing the PBL model and a control class using conventional learning. Data on mathematics learning outcomes were obtained through written tests, while data on learning motivation were collected through questionnaires. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics, including normality tests, homogeneity tests, and two-way ANOVA. The results showed that the Problem-Based Learning model significantly influenced students' mathematics learning outcomes. Furthermore, learning motivation also positively influenced mathematics learning outcomes. There was an interaction between the PBL model and learning motivation in improving students' mathematics learning outcomes. Therefore, the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning model is recommended to improve the quality of mathematics learning in schools.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has driven significant changes in learning practices in elementary schools, including Islamic elementary schools (madrasah ibtidaiyah). Digital-based learning media is seen as an innovation with the potential to increase student learning interest through interactive, visual, and contextual presentation of materials. This study aims to analyze the influence of digital-based learning media on student learning interest at MI Al-Kifayah Pekanbaru. This study used a quantitative approach with a survey method. The sample consisted of fourth and fifth grade students selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through a learning interest questionnaire and a digital learning media usage questionnaire, which were tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was conducted using a simple linear regression test with statistical software. The results showed that digital-based learning media had a positive and significant effect on student learning interest. This finding suggests that the more optimal the use of digital learning media, the higher the students' learning interest. This research is expected to provide practical contributions for teachers and schools in developing effective digital-based learning strategies that are appropriate to the characteristics of Islamic elementary school students.

Abstract

This study aims to compare the science learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at Muhammadiyah Tembilahan Elementary School (SD Muhammadiyah Tembilahan). This study employed a quantitative approach with a quasiexperimental nonequivalent control group design. The sample consisted of two classes: an experimental class implementing the PBL model and a control class using the conventional model. Data collection was conducted using a multiplechoice science learning outcome test, the validity and reliability of which were tested. Data analysis used normality tests, homogeneity tests, and independent sample t-tests. The results showed a significant difference between the science learning outcomes of students taught using the PBL model and those taught using the conventional model. The average learning outcome score of the experimental class was higher than that of the control class. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Problem-Based Learning model is more effective in improving fifth-grade students' science learning outcomes at SD Muhammadiyah Tembilahan compared to the conventional learning model.
