Abstract

This study was motivated by the low learning concentration of children aged 4–5 years at TK St. Yoseph Naikoten II Kupang, as indicated by several children who had difficulty maintaining attention during learning activities. The study aimed to describe teachers' classroom management skills in improving children's learning concentration. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach. The participants consisted of two Class A1 teachers and seven children aged 4–5 years. Data were collected through non-participant observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. Data validity was ensured through technique triangulation, while data were analyzed through data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings showed that teachers demonstrated good classroom management skills through physical classroom management, time management, interaction management, behavior management, and the creation of a positive emotional atmosphere. These practices supported children's learning concentration, which was reflected in their ability to pay attention to learning materials, respond to teachers' instructions, apply acquired knowledge, express ideas or opinions, demonstrate interest in learning activities, and remain engaged throughout the learning process. The study concludes that teachers' classroom management skills play an important role in improving the learning concentration of children aged 4–5 years by creating a conducive learning environment. Abstract

This study aims to analyze teachers’ adaptation in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum at Madrasah Tsanawiyyah Al-Kautsar Dendang, Tanjung Jabung Timur Regency. The focus of this research includes teachers’ adaptation in lesson planning, learning implementation, and assessment systems in accordance with the principles of the Merdeka Curriculum. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research informants consisted of the head of the madrasah, teachers, and students. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The validity of the data was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The results show that teachers’ adaptation in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum has undergone significant changes. In lesson planning, teachers have shifted from using traditional lesson plans to more flexible teaching modules and have begun implementing diagnostic assessments to identify students’ initial abilities. In the implementation stage, there has been a shift from teacher-centered learning to student-centered learning by applying group discussions, Project-Based Learning, and Problem-Based Learning. In terms of assessment, teachers have implemented more comprehensive evaluations by assessing learning processes, attitudes, and skills, as well as providing descriptive feedback on students’ development. However, several challenges were identified, including limited understanding of the Merdeka Curriculum concepts, inadequate facilities and infrastructure, and the need for improved classroom management in active learning settings. Overall, the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum at Madrasah Tsanawiyyah Al-Kautsar Dendang shows a positive direction toward more flexible, contextual, and student-centered learning. Abstract

The final year of undergraduate study is often marked by feelings of anxiety, indecision, and a loss of direction as students face the demands of completing their studies while transitioning into adulthood, a condition commonly referred to as a quarter-life crisis. This study aims to examine and analyze the influence of future orientation and family support on quarter-life crisis, with religiosity as an intervening variable, among final-year students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Kotabumi, North Lampung. This study employed a quantitative approach involving 120 respondents aged 18–29 years, selected through convenience sampling. Data were collected using four Likert-type psychological scales: the quarter-life crisis scale, the religiosity scale, the future orientation scale, and the family support scale. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling based on Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with SmartPLS 4.0 software. The results show that future orientation and family support each have a positive and significant effect on quarter-life crisis and on religiosity; religiosity also has a significant effect on quarter-life crisis; and religiosity significantly mediates the indirect effect of both future orientation and family support on quarter-life crisis. The research model explains 59.0% of the variance in quarter-life crisis and 65.3% of the variance in religiosity. These findings underline the importance of strengthening spiritual values as a coping mechanism for final-year students facing the transition into adulthood.

Abstract

This study analyzes the integration of love values into Islamic education policy in Indonesia, positioning the Love-Based Curriculum (Kurikulum Berbasis Cinta, KBC) as a form of their actualization. It focuses on four matters that have tended to be examined separately: the philosophical foundation of love values, the form of their integration into policy, their alignment with the goals and direction of Islamic education policy, and the opportunities and challenges of their implementation. The research uses a descriptive-analytical library research method, with KBC policy documents as primary data and relevant academic literature as secondary data, analyzed through content analysis and policy analysis. The findings reveal three main points. First, the love values formulated in mahabbah, rahmah, and ihsan possess a conceptual continuity with the five core values (Panca Cinta) of the KBC, so that they can be translated from a normative idea into a curricular framework. Second, love values are integrated into Islamic education policy through the dimensions of purpose, process, and culture, while the KBC broadens their scope to ecological responsibility and love of the homeland. Third, the principles of the KBC align with Islamic education policy in purpose, values, and approach, although their implementation faces challenges in academic orientation, educator readiness, and the evaluation system. The novelty of this study lies in reading the KBC as a meeting point between love values in the Islamic tradition and contemporary education policy, with implications for strengthening the humanistic orientation of Islamic education policy in Indonesia.

Abstract

Reading literacy is a fundamental competency that supports students' academic success, particularly in primary education. This study aimed to analyze the reading literacy skills of first-grade students in Indonesian language learning at SD Inpres Bontobila, Bajeng District, Gowa Regency. The research employed a quantitative descriptive approach. The participants consisted of 27 first-grade students selected as the research sample. Data were collected through reading literacy tests and classroom observations. The instruments assessed students' ability to recognize letters, read syllables, read words, read simple sentences, and comprehend reading texts. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques, including mean scores, percentages, and categorization of literacy achievement. The findings revealed that the average reading literacy score of the students was 77.04, indicating a moderate level of reading literacy. A total of 37.04% of students achieved a high category, 51.85% were in the moderate category, and 11.11% were in the low category. The results indicate that most students were able to recognize letters, read syllables, words, and simple sentences accurately. However, their ability to comprehend reading texts and interpret the meaning of written information still requires improvement. Therefore, teachers are encouraged to implement more interactive and meaningful literacy-based learning strategies to strengthen students' reading comprehension skills from the early grades of primary education.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the inner conflicts experienced by the main character in the novel Satiné by Ika Natassa using Sigmund Freud's psychoanalytic literary psychology approach. This research employed a qualitative descriptive method. The data consisted of narrative passages, dialogues, and monologues indicating the psychological conflicts of the main character. The data source was the novel Satiné by Ika Natassa, while data were collected through reading and note-taking techniques. The data were analyzed using Freud's psychoanalytic theory focusing on the interaction of id, ego, and superego. The findings revealed three forms of inner conflict experienced by the main character. First, anxiety was reflected in feelings of fear, worry, uncertainty, and emotional pressure in interpersonal relationships and future life. Second, hesitation appeared when the character experienced doubt in understanding feelings, making decisions, and interpreting life experiences. Third, inner opposition emerged due to conflicts between personal desires, reality, and moral values that influenced the character's attitudes and decisions. These findings indicate that the imbalance between the id, ego, and superego becomes the main factor causing psychological conflicts throughout the story. Therefore, the novel Satiné presents a complex portrayal of human psychological dynamics and provides a meaningful contribution to literary psychology studies, particularly those based on Sigmund Freud's psychoanalytic perspective.

Abstract

Student engagement in student organizations represents an important form of non-academic activity that contributes to the development of prospective teachers' soft skills. However, students' initial participation in student organizations remains relatively low. This study aimed to examine the influence of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation on the initial engagement of Accounting Education students in student organizations. A quantitative survey design was employed involving 184 active students of the Accounting Education Study Program selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed through multiple linear regression. The findings revealed that intrinsic motivation had a positive and significant influence on students' initial engagement. Likewise, extrinsic motivation significantly influenced students' initial engagement. Simultaneously, intrinsic and extrinsic motivation significantly affected students' initial engagement, indicated by an F value of 403.245 with a significance level of 0.000. The Adjusted R Square value of 0.815 indicates that both variables explain 81.5% of the variance in students' initial engagement. These findings support the Self-Determination Theory, suggesting that students' engagement in organizations is influenced by the interaction between intrinsic and extrinsic motivation.
