Abstract

Abstract:  he aging process can cause a decline in cognitive function in the elderly, characterized by decreased concentration, memory, and verbal abilities. Abstract

Pemeriksaan rongga mulut menemukan 3 siswi (4,2%) mengalami glositis ringan dan 4 siswi (5,6%) mengalami stomatitis aftosa rekuren, sedangkan sebagian besar peserta menunjukkan kondisi rongga mulut normal. Abstract:  Anaemia is still a major health concern among teenage females because of increased iron demand during growth and blood loss during menstruation. In addition to laboratory results, anemia can cause clinical indicators in the oral cavity, such as pale mucosa, glossitis, and recurrent aphthous stomatitis (RAS). The objectives of this community service initiative are to raise awareness of anemia among teenage girls and encourage early detection through oral cavity exams. The event took place at SMKN 1 Ngasem Kediri and involved 71 female students. The oral cavity was examined using a mouth mirror, tongue spatula, and torch following education on the causes, symptoms, prevention, and oral manifestations of anemia. Descriptive analysis of the data was done using percentages and frequency distributions. Based on discussions and post-session question responses, the activity's outcomes indicated improved participants' comprehension of anemia. Oral examinations showed that while most participants had normal oral health, three female students (4.2%) had mild glossitis and four (5.6%) had recurrent aphthous stomatitis. This exercise shows how oral cavity exams and education can be straightforward but powerful ways to promote early anemia identification among teenage girls in school environments.

Abstract

Abstract:  Hypertension is one of the health problems that often occur in the elderly due to physiological changes, stress, and decreased elasticity of blood vessels. This condition can reduce the quality of life and increase the risk of complications such as heart disease and stroke. This activity aims to help lower blood pressure in the elderly through the application of progressive muscle relaxation therapy at the Werdha Kasih Bapak Bunda Nursing Home. The method used is a nonpharmacological intervention approach in the form of progressive muscle relaxation exercises that are carried out gradually through tense and relaxed movements in certain muscle groups. The subjects of the activity are the elderly who meet the criteria, with a total of 15 people. The results showed that most of the respondents were in the prehypertension category as many as 13 people (86.7%), stage I hypertension as many as 1 person (6.7%), and stage II hypertension as many as 1 person (6.7%). After the application of progressive muscle relaxation techniques, the number of respondents in the prehypertension category increased to 14 people (93.3%), stage I hypertension remained as many as 1 person (6.7%), and no more respondents with stage II hypertension were found. The conclusion of this activity is that progressive muscle relaxation therapy is effective in helping to lower blood pressure in the elderly. It is hoped that this therapy can be carried out regularly and continuously as a non-pharmacological effort in controlling blood pressure in the elderly.
