Abstract

Muslims believe that learning Arabic should be primarily focused on understanding the meaning of the Qur'anic texts because the Arabic language and the al-Qur'an have a close link. Understanding the meaning of the Qur'an requires knowledge of both the inner uses of the sentences as well as the actual lafaz from which they are constructed. Also, because it uses instances of expressions quoted from the Qur'an, Arabic language study has not been centered on developing student talents in understanding the meaning of the Qur'an from the perspective of Balagah Science. This study employs a descriptive qualitative research design, and two methodologies are used to collect the data. A direct analysis of the Balagah Surah Al-Fath employing Balagah Science Theories Library Research is the first technique, in which researchers gather information by looking at the well-known interpretation books among Muslims. The researcher collects data, which is involves direct observation, and interviews in the research field. There are goals for this investigation is to make these methods more effective for learning Arabic. Based on the findings of the study process conducted at Madrasah Diniyah Islamiyah Ketangga, it has been determined that the surah Al-Fath contains a number of Balagiyah Techniques, including 1. Ijaz (4), 2. Ithnab (5), and 3. Musawah (1). The Qiasiyah Method is used to implement these Balagiyah Techniques, which starts with a general Qawa'id Balagiyah lesson before introducing examples from surah Al-Fath as a way to compare them to the Qowa'id and to help students understand it better.

Abstract

There are four nahwu postulates agreed upon by the majority of ulama, namely as-sima', al-ijma', al-qiyas, and istishab al-hal. Ibn Mada and Abu Aswad Ad-Du'ali agreed on four components of Qias, namely al-asal, furu', illat, and law. However, this research aims to identify his contribution to the field of nahwi science and identify the contrasting views that occur between Ibn Mada and Abu Aswad Ad-Du'ali in the use of qias in ulus nahwi. The research method used is qualitative with a literature study as a source of data collection. Data analysis techniques include an in-depth analysis of the contributions of Ibn Mada and Abu Aswad Ad-dual in the field of Usul Nahwi and a contrast to the use of Qias Nahwi as law. The result of this research is that in the discourse on Qiyas Nahwi, the perspectives of Ibn Mada and Abu Aswad al-Du'ali present different but complementary approaches. Ibn Mada emphasized structure and precision in applying Qiyas, while Abu Asad al-Du'ali was more inclined towards context and flexibility in using this method. These two approaches enrich our understanding of how Qiyas can be applied effectively in understanding and applying the law.

Abstract

This research discusses the analysis of speech acts in Abu Ubaidah's speech 36 days after the conflict between Hamas and Israel. The purpose of this research is to identify and analyze the types of illocutionary speech acts used in the speech based on John Searle's speech act theory. This research is important because it provides an in-depth understanding of how language is used in the context of conflict to achieve various communicative goals, as well as being a reference for the pragmatic linguistic study of John Searle's speech act theory as a language capable of producing action and providing additional information about the development of the Hamas-Israel conflict. The method used in this research is qualitative with library study techniques, allowing in-depth analysis of the speech material. The main findings of this research show that Abu Ubaidah's speech contains four types of illocutionary speech acts, namely assertive, directive, commissive and expressive. Examples of assertive speech acts include conveying information about war situations, while directive speech acts include praying and giving advice. Promises or oaths represent commissive speech acts, and expressive speech acts include greeting, criticizing, and praising. These results indicate that the speech was designed to not only convey information but also to motivate, inspire, and mobilize listeners. This research emphasizes the urgency of understanding language use in conflict contexts.

Abstract

Arabic is one of the compulsory subjects in Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Magetan. However, learning Arabic at this school faces challenges, notably students’ limited grasp of the lessons. Furthermore, teachers continue to employ direct methods, resulting in monotonous Arabic language learning activities at these schools, ultimately leading to student disengagement and boredom. Based on the mentioned issues, this research aims to assess the impact of adopting the Round Table Learning model on the Arabic language learning achievements of the 10th-grade students at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Magetan. This quantitative study uses a true experimental design, specifically a control group design, where the experimental and control groups are randomly selected from the population. The study involves 40 participants, divided equally between the experimental group (20 students) and the control group (20 students), out of a total population of 238 students. Researchers utilized data collection methods, including observation, interviews, tests, and document analysis. The data were analyzed using the t-test (independent samples t-test) due to its normality and homogeneity. The findings from Arabic language learning using the Round Table learning model in class indicate that H0 is rejected and H is accepted; this shows the statistical results of the t-test based on SPSS 25, namely 0.001 < 0.05. Therefore, we conclude that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, so it is said that there is a difference between the learning outcomes of Arabic language subjects in the experimental class and the control class.

Abstract

The Arabic language learning using the book "Arabiya Baina Yadaik" at Dar El Iman Islamic Boarding School in Padang faces significant challenges in meeting the graduation standard of a minimum score of 85. Among the 21 first-year junior high school students, 52% did not achieve this standard. To address this issue, remedial activities were conducted to ensure all students could meet the learning targets. This research aims to improve Arabic language learning outcomes through a remedial teaching method that combines group and individual tasks. This study employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method to detail the implementation and results of the remedial activities. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and analysis of student scores before and after the remedial activities. The findings indicate a significant improvement in students' learning outcomes following the remedial activities. The graduation rate increased from 48% to 85%, and the number of students who did not pass decreased from 11 to 3. This demonstrates that the remedial teaching method is effective in helping students achieve the graduation standard. In conclusion, combining group and individual tasks in remedial teaching can significantly enhance students' Arabic learning outcomes and overcome learning obstacles. This research contributes to developing more effective Arabic teaching strategies in Islamic boarding schools and other educational institutions.

Abstract

It turns out that the phenomenon in teaching Arabic is that students' thinking skills are still low. This phenomenon is evident in the number of students who give wrong answers to Arabic language questions that require deep thinking during Arabic language teaching. This is not consistent with the current curriculum that requires students to develop their mentality, specifically to think either critically or creatively. This phenomenon indicates that the level of thinking skills, especially in short-term memory, among students is still low. Therefore, the aim of this research is to develop the game "Brain Adventure" to develop short-term memory among students in teaching Arabic to sixth grade primary school students. The method used in this research is developmental research with the ADDIE development model. This model is implemented in several stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The researchers focused on the first four stages. The results of this research are: the first stage of this research is the analysis of the curricula, the analysis of the materials, and the analysis of the students' memory abilities. The second stage is the design of questions and materials according to the curriculum. The third stage is the development of the game using the adventure model. The fourth stage is the implementation, which includes testing the material experts and educational media experts before implementing the developed game on small topics. As for the results of the questionnaire, the level of feasibility of the adventure game from the experts falls into the value "very good". This indicates that this game is suitable for use in teaching the Arabic language as a teaching tool to develop short-term memory in students.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the relevance of exercises and evaluation in the  Bahasa Arab book for the 2013 Curriculum of Grade VIII MTs, based on the perspective of Rusydhi Ahmad Thu’aimah. In this study, the researcher uses qualitative research and a descriptive content analysis method. The data collection technique was carried out through document study, where the researcher reviewed and analyzed the content of the Bahasa Arab book used in Grade VIII MTs to determine whether the elements of exercises and evaluation align with the theory proposed by Rusydhi Ahmad Thu’aimah. The results of the study show that the three elements of exercises and evaluation according to Rusydhi Ahmad Thu’aimah (1989) have been fully met in the Bahasa Arab book for the 2013 Curriculum of Grade VIII MTs. These three elements are language exercises, independent learning, and tests and evaluation. In terms of language exercises, the book provides various activities that focus on language skills, such as exercises in understanding sentence structure, vocabulary usage, and applying Arabic grammar rules in appropriate contexts. These exercises are designed to enhance students’ ability to communicate both orally and in writing. In the element of independent learning, the book provides students with opportunities to learn independently through various activities, such as individual tasks, practice questions, and reflection. The presented material encourages students to actively seek information and practice without fully relying on the teacher’s guidance, thereby fostering greater independence in learning. In the element of tests and evaluation, the book includes assessments that are appropriate to the students’ level of understanding, with formative and summative tests to measure students’ competency achievements. These evaluations are not limited to knowledge alone, but also assess the language skills acquired by students throughout the learning process. Tests are given at the end of each lesson, while evaluations are conducted every three lessons.
