Abstract

Language barriers can pose a problem in communication between healthcare personnel and foreign patients. Improving English language skills is a must for healthcare personnel, especially those employed in community health centers in tourism areas. The community service team from the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Islam Al-Azhar, provided Medical English training for healthcare personnel at the Nipah Community Health Center, North Lombok Regency. A total of four meetings were held from June-September 2023. The participants learned basic Medical English from the presentation slides, illustrated bilingual handbooks, and role-play. Analysis showed that there was a statistically significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores (P-value < 0.001). In conclusion, this training had a positive impact in helping healthcare personnel learn Medical English to overcome language barriers. It was proposed that this training should be continued in the future. It is recommended that future training programs place greater emphasis on practical skills, with a particular focus on listening and speaking.

Abstract

The students of SMK Negeri 3 Kendal, especially the Software and Game Development (PPLG) competency, has not received knowledge related to artificial intelligence which is starting to be widely used in the world of work. The school wanted the student to have knowledge in artificial intelligence. The reason is that artificial intelligence has begun to be widely used in the world of work. To satisfiy the need, this community service proposed to increase the ability of students at SMK Negeri 3. In this community service, the discussed artificial intelligence would be centered on the Large Language Model (LLM). The community service was carried out using the method of raising awareness/increasing understanding of artificial intelligence issues. The training/increasing understanding activity itself is carried out in 4 stages, namely pre-test, presentation, practice and post-test. From the results of the presentation of presentation and practice, several weaknesses emerged. This is related to understanding how artificial intelligence works, the application of artificial intelligence and how to recognize artificial intelligence results. This community service activity conveys correct information regarding these matters. By comparing pre-test and post-test results, which has 8 questions, there is an increase of their knowledge with an average of 25%. The greatest increase in understanding occurred in the question ‘Does AI really understand what it is doing?’ which relates to understanding how artificial intelligence works. The increase in understanding on this question occurred by 50%.   Abstrak Dalam kegiatannya, SMK Negeri 3 Kendal, utamanya kompetensi Pengembangan Perangkat Lunak dan Gim (PPLG), belum mendapat pengetahuan terkait kecerdasan buatan yang mulai banyak digunakan dalam dunia kerja. Pihak sekolah memiliki keinginan agar par siswa dapat memiliki pengentahuan terkait kecerdasan buatan. Hal ini karena kecerdasan buatan sudah mulai banyak dimanfaatkan dalam dunia kerja. Pengabdian masyarakat ini mengusulkan peningkatan kemampuan para siswa SMK Negeri 3 Kendal untuk menjawab masalah yang telah dipaparkan. Secara khusus, pada pengabdian masyarakat ini, pengenalan kecerdasan buatan yang dimaksud akan berpusat pada bentuk Large Language Model (LLM). Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat kali ini dilakukan dengan metode penyadaran/peningkatan pemahaman terhadap masalah kecerdasan buatan. Kegiatan pelatihan/peningkatan pemahaman sendiri dilakukan dalam 4 tahap, yaitu pre-test, pemaparan/penyuluhan, praktek dan post-test. Dari hasil pemaparan materi dan praktek didapatkan bahwa terdapat beberapa kelemahan yang mengemuka. Hal ini terkait pemahaman cara kerja kecerdasan buatan, terapan kecerdasan buatan dan cara mengenali hasil kecerdasan buatan. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini menyampaikan informasi yang benar terkait hal-hal tersebut. Hasil dari pre-test dan post-test yang mencakup 8 poin, menunjukkan terdapat peningkatan pemahaman dari peserta dengan rata-rata sebesar 25%. Peningkatan pemahaman terbesar terjadi pada pertanyaan tentang kebenaran bahwa AI memahami apa yang dilakukannya yang terkait pemahaman cara kerja kecerdasan buatan. Peningkatan pemahaman pada pertanyaan ini terjadi sebesar 50%.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to provide a pattern of cooperation or partnership between actors in preventing drug abuse in the educational environment. The target to be achieved is disseminating information to the public, especially those in the educational environment for teenagers at SMA Negeri 9 Bandar Lampung. The method used is FGD (Focus Group Discussion) to achieve these specific goals and targets. The activities carried out will focus on the introduction and understanding of the Consultation and Partnership model in efforts to handle and prevent drugs among adolescents. The expected result is that there are efforts to prevent and handle drugs among adolescents of high school age through collaboration between the school, parents, and relevant stakeholders to raise awareness of efforts to prevent drugs. Activities are evaluated by filling out a questionnaire (questionnaire test). This community service did pre-test and post-test.   Abstrak Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pola kerja sama atau kemitraan antar aktor dalam mencegah terjadinya penyalahgunaan narkoba di lingkungan pendidikan. Target khusus yang ingin dicapai adalah menyebarluaskan informasi kepada masyarakat, khususnya yang berada di dalam lingkungan pendidikan kalangan remaja SMA Negeri 9 Bandar Lampung. Untuk mencapai tujuan dan target khusus ini metode yang digunakan adalah FGD (Focus Group Discussion). Kegiatan yang dilakukan akan terfokus pada pengenalan dan pemahaman akan model konsultasi dan kemitraan dalam upaya penangan dan pencegahan Narkoba di kalangan remaja. Hasil yang diharapkan yaitu adanya upaya pencegahan dan penanganan narkoba di kalangan remaja usia sekolah menengah umum melalui kerjasama antara pihak Sekolah, Orang Tua, dan stakeholder terkait sehingga menimbulkan kesadaran akan upaya pencegahan Narkoba. Evaluasi kegiatan dilakukan dengan mengisi kuesioner (tes angket). Pengabdian masyarakat ini melakukan pre-test dan post-test.

Abstract

Indonesia faces the problem of food insecurity. The complexity of food insecurity that leads to a food security crisis can be simplified by focusing on three different but interrelated dimensions, namely access to food, household access to food, and individual food use. Mitigating food insecurity through the family kitchen garden program can be carried out with a community involvement approach, especially women, by utilizing home gardens, to provide access to food and vegetables for community members. The implementation method uses Participatory Rural Appraisal, with target partners namely groups of women farmers. The implementation stages consist of planning, preparation, implementation and evaluation. All stages of service activities can be carried out thoroughly and all components work optimally. The average percentage of indicator achievement is 92.5%. Of the four indicators, the level of participant participation occupies the highest percentage, during the activity the attendance and activeness of service participants is maximum.   Abstrak Indonesia menghadapi masalah kerawanan pangan. Kompleksitas kerawanan pangan yang berujung pada krisis ketahanan pangan dapat disederhanakan dengan berfokus pada tiga dimensi yang berbeda namun saling terkait, yaitu akses terhadap pangan, akses rumah tangga terhadap pangan, dan penggunaan pangan individu. Mitigasi kerawanan pangan melalui program kebun dapur keluarga dapat dilakukan dengan pendekatan pelibatan masyarakat khususnya kaum perempuan dengan pemanfaatan pekarangan rumah, guna akses kesediaan pangan dan sayuran warga masyarakat. Metode pelaksanaan menggunakan Participatory Rural Appraisal, dengan mitra sasaran yaitu kelompok wanita tani. Tahapan pelaksanaan terdiri dari perencanaan, persiapan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Semua tahapan kegiatan pengabdian dapat dilaksanakan secara menyeluruh dan semua komponen berkerja dengan maksimal. Rata-rata persentase capaian indikator sebesar 92,5%. Dari ke empat indikator tersebut tingkat partisipasi perserta menempati persentase tertinggi, selama kegiatan berlangsung kehadiran dan keaktifan peserta pengabdian maksimal.

Abstract

Differentiated learning is a key component of the Merdeka Curriculum, which emphasizes the need for media that supports students in learning according to their individual characteristics and pace. As a result, teachers must develop suitable learning media. Platforms like Google Sites offer a free and accessible way for teachers to create materials and assessments that students can access anytime. Therefore, teacher training in using Google Sites to create web-based learning media is essential to support differentiated learning in the Merdeka Curriculum. The training was held at Muhammadiyah High School in Langsa City and was attended by 25 Physics teachers who were members of the Langsa City Physics Teachers Organization (MGMP). The effectiveness of the training was measured using a participant response questionnaire with a total of 14 statements, which included indicators of knowledge, skills, attitudes, and perceptions. The results of the training showed that teachers were satisfied, and there was an increase in teachers' knowledge, skills, and attitudes in using Google Sites as a web-based physics learning media. Teachers expressed optimism about using Google Sites as a tool that can facilitate student learning according to individual preferences.

Abstract

In navigating life, especially during adolescence, it is essential to maintain a balance between academic life and recreational activities. Students' recreational time should ideally involve meaningful, active pursuits to genuinely enhance their psychological well-being, rather than solely engaging in gadget use, which has become prevalent among students today, including those at SMP X. On the other part, to maximize academic performance, students require methods that enable them to fully focus on their studies.  This psychoeducation program aims to provide students with both knowledge and motivation to understand and apply appropriate ways to engage in recreational activities using the concept of leisure from Positive Psychology, as well as strategies for achieving focused learning using the concept of flow, and guidance on balancing recreational and academic life. The psychoeducation method uses the presentation method, group interaction, and games. Psychoeducation is evaluated using a pre-test-post-test design evaluation. The results using Wilcoxon signed rank to assess the success of psychoeducation, as well as additional analysis from the descriptions of the participants' essay answers. This training program shows the results of increasing knowledge about leisure and flow, but still lack of participant’s knowledge to use both concept simultanously. However, this program has succeeded in getting affective reactions that show students' commitment to applying materials in their daily lives.   Abstrak Dalam mengarungi kehidupan, khususnya pada masa remaja, penting untuk menjaga keseimbangan antara kehidupan akademis dan aktivitas rekreasi. Waktu rekreasi siswa idealnya melibatkan kegiatan yang bermakna dan aktif untuk benar-benar meningkatkan kesejahteraan psikologisnya, tidak hanya sekedar menggunakan gadget yang sudah menjadi hal yang lumrah di kalangan siswa saat ini, termasuk di SMP X. Sebaliknya, untuk memaksimalkan prestasi akademiknya, siswa membutuhkan metode yang memungkinkan mereka untuk fokus penuh pada studinya.  Program psikoedukasi ini bertujuan untuk membekali siswa dengan pengetahuan dan motivasi untuk memahami dan menerapkan cara yang tepat dalam melakukan aktivitas rekreasi dengan menggunakan konsep waktu luang dari Psikologi Positif, serta strategi mencapai pembelajaran terfokus dengan menggunakan konsep aliran, dan bimbingan keseimbangan. . kehidupan rekreasi dan akademis. Metode psikoedukasi menggunakan metode presentasi, interaksi kelompok, dan permainan. Psikoedukasi dievaluasi menggunakan desain evaluasi pre-test-post-test. Hasilnya menggunakan Wilcoxon Signed Rank untuk menilai keberhasilan psikoedukasi, serta analisis tambahan terhadap deskripsi jawaban esai peserta. Program pelatihan ini menunjukkan hasil peningkatan pengetahuan tentang waktu senggang dan aliran, namun masih kurangnya pengetahuan peserta untuk menggunakan kedua konsep tersebut secara bersamaan. Namun program ini berhasil mendapatkan reaksi afektif yang menunjukkan komitmen siswa dalam menerapkan materi dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.

Abstract

Public speaking and personal branding are essential skills that can open career opportunities and advance professional development for everyone, especially OSIS students. SMA Angkasa 1 Halim Perdanakusuma recognizes the importance of these skills for its students. Unfortunately, specialized training related to these topics has not yet been conducted there. To address this issue, the Community Service team from the French Language Education Program collaborated with SMA Angkasa 1 Halim Perdanakusuma to organize training in public speaking and personal branding aimed at developing the leadership character of OSIS students. This activity was conducted in-person and comprised three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. A total of 33 students participated in this event, receiving both theoretical and practical instruction, along with assignments to enhance their public speaking skills and build a positive self-image. The results of the training showed positive development after the sessions, with participants demonstrating increased confidence and the ability to present material effectively using various public speaking techniques.    Abstrak Public speaking dan personal branding adalah keterampilan penting yang dapat membuka peluang karir dan memajukan perkembangan profesional bagi setiap orang, terutama siswa OSIS. SMA Angkasa 1 Halim Perdanakusuma menyadari pentingnya keterampilan tersebut bagi siswanya. Sayangnya, pelatihan khusus terkait tema tersebut belum pernah dilaksanakan di sana. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, tim Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat Prodi Pendidikan Bahasa Prancis bekerja sama dengan SMA Angkasa 1 Halim Perdanakusuma dalam mengadakan pelatihan public speaking dan personal branding dengan tujuan mengembangkan karakter kepemimpinan siswa OSIS. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan secara luring dengan tiga  tahapan  yakni  persiapan, pelaksanaan,  dan  evaluasi. Sebanyak 33 siswa menjadi peserta pada kegiatan ini dengan diberikan teori dan praktik, serta penugasan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara di depan umum dan membangun citra diri yang positif. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan perkembangan yang positif setelah pelatihan di mana peserta memiliki kepercayaan diri yang meningkat sehingga mampu menyampaikan materi dengan baik dengan menerapkan berbagai teknik public speaking.

Abstract

School-age children need optimal nutrition for their growth and development. However, children in Indonesia still face the problem of malnutrition. This is due to the limited literacy of healthy food so that they are vulnerable in choosing and consuming food. This problem was also found in Muara Gembong, such as the many students who still consume unhealthy foods, and the lack of student literacy related to healthy food. Therefore, it is important to build literacy related to healthy food so that children become healthy and smart consumers. The method of community service is to use an interactive approach that is easily accepted by children, namely the storytelling method and reading corner. This community service involved 30 elementary school students in Muara Gembong. The activity began with the preparation stage of making a fairy tale book, the implementation stage was carried out by storytelling activities and creating a reading corner in the classroom, and at the evaluation stage, a question and answer activity was carried out related to the values ​​contained in the contents of the fairy tale. The evaluation results showed that students became focused on listening with the visualization of fairy tale dolls and interest in reading in the reading corner, so that the values ​​conveyed in books and fairy tales could be accepted and understood by students. It is hoped that this community service can build a culture of literacy in students, revive the storytelling method, and make children smart and healthy consumers.   Abstrak Anak usia sekolah membutuhkan gizi yang optimal untuk pertumbuhan dan perkembangannya. Namun  anak-anak di Indonesia masih menghadapi masalah gizi kurang. Hal tersebut disebabkan oleh  masih terbatasnya literasi pangan sehat sehingga rentan dalam memilih dan mengkonsumsi  makanan. Masalah tersebut juga ditemui di Muara Gembong, seperti masih banyaknya siswa yang  mengkonsumsi makanan yang tidak sehat, dan kurangnya literasi siswa terkait makanan sehat. Oleh karena  itu pentingnya membangun literasi terkait makanan sehat agar anak-anak menjadi konsumen yang sehat dan cerdas. Metode pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah dengan menggunakan pendekatan yang interaktif dan mudah diterima oleh anak, yaitu dengan metode mendongeng dan pojok baca. Pengabdian masyarakat ini melibatkan 30 siswa SD di Muara Gembong. Kegiatan dimulai dengan tahapan persiapan membuat buku dongeng, tahap pelaksanaan dilakukan kegiatan mendongeng dan membuat pojok baca di kelas, dan pada  tahap evaluasi dilakukan kegiatan tanya jawab terkait nilai yang terkandung dalam isi cerita dongeng. Hasil  evaluasi menunjukkan siswa menjadi fokus mendengarkan dengan adanya visualisasi boneka dongeng dan  ketertarikan membaca di pojok baca, sehingga nilai yang disampaikan dalam buku maupun dongeng dapat  diterima dan dipahami siswa. Diharapkan pengabdian masyarakat ini dapat membangun budaya literasi  pada siswa, menggiatkan kembali metode dongeng, serta menjadikan anak-anak konsumen yang cerdas dan  sehat.

Abstract

Abstract Clean water is one of the basic needs for human life. The results of the examination of the quality of borehole water in Moncong Loe Village obtained the level of sulfate (SO4) The level of sulfate (SO4) has exceeded the quality standard as clean water which is 400 mg / l and as drinking water is 250 mg / liter. While dermatitis cases in the area reached 65.6%.  The objectives of this service are: Improving the quality of borehole water in Pamanjengan hamlet, Maros Regency: Increase ownership of healthy water, increase understanding of water purification techniques at the household level, reduce dermatitis cases due to decreased borehole water quality. The solutions offered in this service activity are 1. Conducting knowledge transfer education related to healthy latrines according to the functions and benefits for environmental health and the practice of making septi tanks and pilot healthy latrines 2. Conducting knowledge transfer education related to water purification methods The results of the service showed that there was an increase in the knowledge of the partners from the pre-test activity in the sufficient category (83.3%) while for the post-test it increased to 88.6%. There was an increase in the attitude of the partners from the pre-test activity in the moderate category (80%) while for the post test it increased to 86.6%.There was an increase in the actions of kesling cadres from the pre-test activity in the moderate category (79.8%) while for the post test it increased to 85.6%.   Abstrak Air bersih merupakan salah satu kebutuhan pokok bagi kehidupan manusia. Hasil pemeriksaan kualitas air sumur bor di Desa Moncongloe diperoleh kadar sulfat (SO4) Kadar sulfat (SO4) tersebut telah melebihi baku mutu sebagai air bersih yaitu 400 mg/l dan sebagai air minum yaitu 250 mg/liter. Sedangkan kasus dermatitis diwilayah tersebut mencapai 65,6%. Tujuan pengabdian ini adalah: meningkatkan capaian Kualitas air sumur bor di dusun Pamanjengan Kab maros: Meningkatkan kepemilikan air yang sehat, meningkatkan pemahaman tentang teknik penjernihan air ditingkat rumah tangga, menurunkan kakuss dermatitis akibat penurunan kualitas air sumur bor. Solusi yang ditawarkan dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah 1. Melakukan edukasi transfer pengetahuan terkait Jamban sehat sesuai fungsi dan manfaat bagi kesehatan lingkungan serta praktek pembuatan septi tank dam jamban sehat percontohan 2. Melakukan edukasi transfer pengetahuan terkait metode penjernihan air Hasil pengbdian menunjukkan Terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan para mitra dari kegiatan pre test kategori cukup (83,3%) sedangkan untuk post test meningkat menjadi 88,6%. Terjadi peningkatan sikap para mitra dari kegiatan pre test kategori cukup (80%) sedangkan untuk post test meningkat menjadi 86,6%.Terjadi peningkatan tindakan kader kesling dari kegiatan pre test kategori cukup (79,8%) sedangkan untuk post test meningkat menjadi 85,6% .

Abstract

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a developmental disorder affecting social interaction, communication, and behavior. One of the interventions for children with ASD is a Gluten-Free Casein-Free (GFCF) diet. However, implementing the GFCF diet is often challenging due to a lack of understanding and skills in preparing appropriate food. This study aims to provide training on GFCF-based food processing for students of the Social Work Program at SMK Negeri 2 Malang, using a pretest-posttest one-group design to evaluate the effectiveness of the training. A total of 12 students participated in the training, and data analysis showed a significant increase in knowledge, with an average pretest score of 74.92 and a posttest score of 89.17. The t-test results also indicated a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores (p = 0.003). In addition, satisfaction surveys revealed that participants were satisfied with the materials and facilitators, and were motivated to apply the acquired knowledge in social work practice and entrepreneurship in GFCF-based food processing. This training was deemed effective in improving participants' knowledge and skills regarding the GFCF diet for children with ASD.   Abstrak Gangguan spektrum autisme (Autism Spectrum Disorder/ASD) adalah gangguan perkembangan yang memengaruhi interaksi sosial, komunikasi, dan perilaku. Salah satu intervensi yang digunakan untuk anak dengan ASD adalah diet bebas gluten dan kasein (Gluten-Free Casein-Free/GFCF). Namun, penerapan diet GFCF seringkali menjadi tantangan karena kurangnya pemahaman dan keterampilan dalam pengolahan panganan yang sesuai. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pelatihan pengolahan panganan berbasis diet GFCF kepada peserta didik Program Keahlian Pekerjaan Sosial di SMK Negeri 2 Malang, dengan menggunakan metode pretest-posttest one-group design untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas pelatihan. Sebanyak 12 peserta didik mengikuti pelatihan ini, dan hasil analisis data menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pengetahuan peserta, dengan rata-rata skor pretest sebesar 74,92 dan posttest sebesar 89,17. Hasil uji-t juga menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil pretest dan posttest (p = 0.003). Selain itu, survei kepuasan menunjukkan bahwa peserta merasa puas dengan materi dan fasilitator, serta termotivasi untuk menerapkan pengetahuan yang diperoleh dalam praktik pekerjaan sosial dan kewirausahaan di bidang pengolahan panganan berbasis diet GFCF. Pelatihan ini dinilai efektif dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta mengenai diet GFCF untuk anak ASD.
