Abstract

The Gurah Beach Special Purpose Forest Area (KHDTK) in Blitar Regency is one of the conservation areas that plays an important role in maintaining the balance of the coastal ecosystem and environmental sustainability. However, increased tourism activity, climate change, and pollution could potentially lower air and environmental quality in the surrounding area. Additionally, there is no monitoring system yet that can provide real-time data information to support conservation decision-making. Therefore, a technological solution is needed in the form of a solar panel-powered IoT microcontroller-based weather and air quality monitoring station that can continuously measure environmental parameters such as temperature, humidity, rainfall, solar radiation, pollution levels, and fine particulate concentration to maintain the KHDTK environmental health index. This technology can provide accurate data continuously with remote monitoring integrated into a website for easy access, analysis, and decision-making. The methods used include site observation, design and assembly of the equipment, system installation, training, monitoring, and implementation, handover of goods, evaluation, and reporting. The results demonstrate that the system operates reliably, continuously generating accurate data for environmental quality assessment. The implementation of this technology can support sustainable conservation management efforts and contribute to the preservation of the KHDTK Gurah ecosystem.

Abstract

This community partnership program was implemented at SMA Islam Plus Adzkia Medan in 2025 to address students’ limited preparedness for pursuing undergraduate studies in France due to insufficient French language proficiency. Most French universities require international applicants to demonstrate an intermediate level of French competence, commonly evidenced by the DELF B1 certification. However, the absence of formal French language instruction at the partner school has resulted in inadequate student readiness to meet this requirement. This program aimed to enhance students’ DELF B1 readiness through structured mentoring supported by three-dimensional (3D) digital textbooks. The implementation stages included program socialization, training on the use of 3D digital textbooks, classroom integration, intensive mentoring, evaluation, and sustainability planning. Learning activities focused on the four language competencies assessed in the DELF B1 examination: listening, reading, speaking, and writing. The results demonstrated significant improvements in students’ learning interest, test performance, and learning engagement across two implementation cycles. The interactive features of the 3D digital textbooks enabled students to visualize authentic communicative situations, thereby strengthening both receptive and productive language skills. This program contributes to technology-based innovation in language education and supports secondary school students’ preparation for international academic mobility.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play an important role in the national economy; however, many MSMEs have not yet fully utilized social media as a digital marketing channel. MSME ABC, a bamboo fan handicraft producer in Yogyakarta, experienced a decline in sales after the COVID-19 pandemic, accompanied by limited marketing innovation and suboptimal social media management. This community engagement program aimed to improve digital visibility and audience engagement through data-driven content strategies on Instagram and TikTok. The activities included an initial assessment of the MSME’s digital condition, assistance in developing visual and narrative content based on four content pillars—education, promotion, inspiration, and interaction—social media campaign management, utilization of platform features, paid advertising activation, and the formulation of a brand communication direction. The initial evaluation showed a 97.5% increase in Instagram reach, a 179.9% increase in Instagram views, and a 131.3% increase in TikTok views. Audience interactions and profile visits also increased during the observation period. In addition, 25% of prospective customers who were identified as originating from social media and contacted the MSME through WhatsApp Business completed a purchase. These findings indicate a positive initial response to the implementation of content and social media distribution strategies. However, due to the relatively short evaluation period, the results cannot yet be used to conclude the sustainability of the impact, changes in brand positioning, or long-term sales growth. Further evaluation and stronger internal capacity building are therefore required to support the MSME’s independent and sustainable management of social media.

Abstract

Flooding caused by the overflow of the Cibeet River is one of the primary factors contributing to prolonged inundation in residential areas of Cipayung Village, Bekasi Regency. This community service program aimed to implement infiltration wells as a vertical drainage system to support flood mitigation and groundwater conservation through hydrological and geotechnical analyses. The implementation methods included field surveys, site condition assessment, hydrological analysis, infiltration well design, community education, construction using the Project-Based Learning (PBL) approach, and six-month post-implementation monitoring. Site analysis identified five priority locations that frequently experienced inundation due to upstream flooding. Hydrological analysis was conducted by evaluating design rainfall, rainfall intensity, catchment area, runoff coefficient, and estimated runoff discharge to determine the required storage capacity. Furthermore, soil conditions, land availability, material selection, and constructability were analyzed to optimize the infiltration well design. The selected design consisted of infiltration wells with a 0.90 m diameter, 2.20 m depth, a 0.22 m gravel infiltration layer, and a concrete cover. A total of five infiltration wells were successfully constructed with the participation of 19 students, local government officials, and community members. Six-month monitoring indicated that all infiltration wells remained structurally sound and continued to function effectively as infiltration facilities. However, their effectiveness in reducing surface inundation was limited due to the collapse of the Cibeet River embankment, which significantly increased upstream flood discharge into the residential area. Nevertheless, the infiltration wells contributed to enhancing groundwater recharge, improving local stormwater management, and increasing community awareness of sustainable water resource management.
