Abstract

Unemployment continues to be a substantial obstacle in several nations, including Indonesia, especially for graduates of vocational high schools (SMK). This research examines the correlation between entrepreneurial preparedness and interest among SMK students in Bunyu Regency, a region characterized by distinctive economic circumstances. This study employed a quantitative method, utilizing descriptive correlational and causal-comparative designs. The study selected 141 students from SMK Negeri 1 Bunyu to represent three distinct academic programs. We meticulously designed questionnaires to collect data, which assessed several dimensions of entrepreneurial preparedness and inclination. The results indicate a strong positive relationship (r = 0.65, p < 0.05) between readiness and interest, with readiness being a significant predictor of interest (β = 0.55, p < 0.05). The findings emphasize the significance of including hands-on entrepreneurship education in the vocational curriculum to improve students' entrepreneurial abilities and decrease unemployment rates among graduates. Furthermore, the research emphasizes the need for focused educational initiatives that specifically target the prevailing economic realities and demands of certain industries. Abstract

Practical learning using simulation applications makes students unable to create natural industrial control systems, so the impact of the immaturity of practical skills that students must master becomes a problem in this study. Using simulation applications, students are only faced with ideal conditions and symbols of each component, so students cannot know the actual components of an industrial control system and how to solve real problems in this system. This study aims to examine the impact of using electro-pneumatic training kits in an industrial control system practicum. The actual experimental research method used in the study consisted of an experimental class with 28 students and a control class of 25 people. Data collection techniques used skill assessment rubrics with data analysis techniques, including independent t-tests and effect sizes. The results revealed a significant difference in the skills of experimental class students with the control class, where experimental class students had better skills. From the results of the effect size test, it is known that the electro-pneumatic training kit significantly improves students' industrial control system skills. Based on these results, the electro-pneumatic training kit proved to be a transformational educational tool, significantly improving students' skills in industrial control systems. The implication of this study is for schools to integrate technology-based training tools such as electro-pneumatic training kits; vocational education can provide practical experience that is more relevant to industry needs, improve students' work readiness, and strengthen technical skills that are urgently needed in today's modern job market and industrial world.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of a targeted teacher training program designed for Grades 6-8 educators on the implementation of vocational education as per the National Curriculum Framework for School Education 2023. Using a pre-test and post-test design, we quantitatively assessed participants' awareness and understanding of vocational education principles. Results demonstrated a 25% increase in average post-test scores, with variability in learning outcomes across different educational backgrounds and teaching experience levels. Visual data analysis, including scatterplots and stacked bar charts, was employed to assess score distribution and highlight learning gaps. The scatterplot analysis revealed distinct clusters, indicating diverse levels of prior knowledge, while stacked bar charts illustrated comparative improvements within subgroups, allowing for an in-depth understanding of knowledge acquisition patterns. These findings underscore the importance of differentiated training strategies tailored to teachers' initial competency levels. Beyond this program, our results suggest that tailored, data-informed training can enhance vocational education outcomes in broader educational contexts, guiding similar initiatives to optimize educator preparedness and engagement. This approach offers valuable insights for designing effective teacher training frameworks in diverse educational settings.

Abstract

This study aims to accelerate and improve the accreditation status of Tourism Higher Education (THE). The research method uses quantitative methods.  There were 92 respondents from 23 THE by saturated sampling techniques. The instrument used is a Questionnaire with a Likert scale of 1 to 7. The analysis method using SEM-PLS with Smart PLS 3.0 as a quantitative method and complemented by a Forum Group Discussion as a qualitative method to gain a more comprehensive perspective result. The results showed that the Top Management of THE must give challenging goals and targets to all lecturers so there are no asymmetric goals and targets. The common goal and targets start from publication in reputable international journals by lecturers with financial support and monitoring by the top management.  Those lecturers who received top management support enabled lecturers to achieve position levels from expert assistants to head lectors (Associate professors). These achievements accelerate the chance of attaining THE accreditation status from the better to the best or superior. This research significantly contributes to the body of knowledge as lecturers are induced to have innovative Behavior. On the other hand, the management of institutions should adopt Goal-oriented, Inspiring Interaction rooted in goal-setting theory.

Abstract

The appearance of digital technology has transformed society into a life-oriented learning community, and learning activities, which originally took place offline, need to be transferred online. The integration of ICT in education by using the TPACK framework is no longer an option but an obligation. In Cookery subjects at tourism vocational schools, current learning media mostly consist of PowerPoint and printed books. This paper is intended to develop an Android-based application of Food Service Learning Media that could provide the possibility for the teaching and learning process and enhance critical thinking. Information from 3 participants to find out what students and teachers need through the FGD method shows that integration of knowledge of content, pedagogy, and technology is needed in the mobile menu book. It would also include in the application some very interactive elements which help enhance student learning and are missing from current culinary education, therefore making current culinary education more effective.
