Abstract

Street children are one of the problems in urban areas, including in the city of Palembang. The number of street children is increasing from time to time, so comprehensive and sustainable efforts are needed to resolve the problem. To make these efforts, the involvement of many parties is required, one of the parties that plays an important role is civil society organizations, namely non-governmental organizations. The Intan Maharani Foundation is one of the Civil Society Organizations that has a serious concern for fostering street children in the city of Palembang. To help improve their role, this community service activity was carried out, namely, strengthening the collaborative fostering of street children. The activity was carried out using the brainstorming and discussion method. The leaders and staff of the foundation understand the importance of collaboration with stakeholders, conducting analysis of support and resources, and designing follow-up plans for cooperation. From the results of the workshop, the Intan Maharani Foundation can build a wider stakeholder network so that it will increase its role in urban poverty issues, including street children. Abstract

Drug abuse among teenagers is increasing. The rise of this behavioral deviation also occurs in Tawangrejo Village, especially among school-age children. This not only raises concerns, but can also threaten health, disrupt stability and endanger the sustainability of the nation’s generation. One of the preventive efforts that can be done is by providing alternative positive and productive activities such as reading rooms. This service focuses on utilizing the hamlet hall as a village reading room for school-age children. The service method used is the ABCD (Asset Based Community Development) approach which emphasizes community empowerment by utilizing and developing local assets in Tawangrejo Village to achieve common goals. The result of this service is the utilization of the hamlet hall as a comfortable and affordable reading room, so that children have better access to useful reading materials. The reading room is expected to increase children’s interest in reading and literacy skills, as well as become a safe and productive place that can have a positive impact on drug abuse prevention.

Abstract

This study examines how digital marketing literacy boosts culinary SMEs' income by optimizing digital platforms to expand reach and attract customers, addressing current gaps in digital skills among food stall owners in culinary tourism centers. This research uses a mixed-method approach combining interactive training, FGDs, and multi-stakeholder talkshows to comprehensively analyze digital marketing adoption and its revenue impact on culinary SMEs in tourism centers. The program successfully enhanced culinary SMEs' digital capabilities in Google Business and food delivery platforms through targeted training, collaborative talkshows, and practical case studies, overcoming adoption barriers and driving business growth. Abstract

The productivity of Nile tilapia farming at Mina Harapan Jaya group has shown room for improvement, prompting the integration of innovative technology to enhance efficiency and output. Engaging group members actively, the probiotic Probio 6 was incorporated into the fish growth cycle with comprehensive monitoring of the aquatic environment. The combination of theoretical learning and hands-on practice enhanced the members’ competence in probiotic-based aquaculture management. Throughout the maintenance period, the production cycle proceeded on schedule with low mortality rates and stable water quality. This technological application resulted in increased production and cost efficiency, ultimately contributing to improved income and welfare of the fish farmers

Abstract

Abstract Health is a condition of physical, mental, spiritual, and social prosperity that allows a person to live a productive life (Law No. 36/2009). Knowledge of drugs is important for the public to avoid the use of counterfeit and illegal drugs, which according to the WHO includes drugs without active ingredients, different ingredients, or with strength that does not match the label. The Community Service Program has been carried out to increase public knowledge, primarily through the role of women, about the dosage form, packaging, safety, and stability of drugs. The activity was carried out using a lecture and discussion method and involved 45 participants from 17 women's organizations in the Magetan area. The results showed that this program succeeded in increasing participants' understanding of drug dosage form, packaging, safety, and stability. This activity also received a positive response from the participants and was reported by local media. The community service program successfully increased the community's knowledge and understanding of drugs and drug stability, thus strengthening SDGs 3. Abstract

This community service program aimed to enhance journalistic photography skills among the teachers, administrators, and students of Pondok Pesantren Uzlifatil Jannah through a structured training program. The activity was motivated by the crucial role of the pesantren’s internal media in delivering factual, authentic, and engaging visual information, despite the participants’ limited technical ability and lack of understanding of journalistic photography ethics. The training method combined theoretical sessions, demonstrations of photographic techniques, and hands-on practice in documenting pesantren activities. The training materials covered the fundamentals of photojournalism, including its functions and requirements, various types of journalistic photographs (spot photos, general news photos, people in the news, daily life photos), as well as technical aspects such as camera angles, framing, composition (rule of thirds and leading lines), and the development of a photo essay. Evaluation was conducted through pretest and posttest assessments to measure participants’ improvement in knowledge and practical skills. The results indicated a significant improvement in participants’ performance, with the average score increasing from 58.0 in the pretest to 77.5 in the posttest. The standard deviation also decreased from 11.69 to 2.38, suggesting a more uniform skill acquisition among participants after the training. Furthermore, the participants’ responses reflected notable progress in knowledge, motivation, readiness, and practical ability. In conclusion, this training successfully enhanced the participants’ capacity to produce photographs that adhere to journalistic principles and ethics. The program is expected to strengthen the role of the pesantren’s internal media as a professional platform for da’wah, education, and publication.

Abstract

In the context of service, implementing effective communication has many advantages, especially when it is applied in the field of healthcare services. Healthcare providers will be able to deliver complete and easily understandable information, helping patients take the next necessary actions. When excellent service and the use of effective communication are successfully implemented, the healthcare center will indirectly build a positive image in the minds of the public. Effective communication itself is the process of successfully exchanging information between two or more parties, where the message delivered is clearly understood, accurate, and has the desired impact. It is also known that effective information transfer requires a strong foundation, which is communication skills. Good communication skills among healthcare providers are considered to have a positive effect on health outcomes and patient satisfaction. These skills are also essential tools for engaging in dialogue with patients to identify issues such as medication usage, treatment effects, or other interactions. Theoretically, the relationship between effective communication and excellent service is twofold, with each influencing the other. However, healthcare services often face challenges related to the provision of services and health information to patients. Therefore, this community service activity is conducted to provide understanding and training on enhancing effective communication skills and service excellence to healthcare workers at primary health centers who provide services to patients or accompany them.

Abstract

Higher education institutions face challenges in both academic and non-academic fields due to dynamic environmental and regulatory changes. Universities must be adaptive through effective implementation of risk management (RM) to achieve organizational goals. The community service (PKM) partner in this program is the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) at the Islamic University of Lamongan (UNISLA), which is in the early stage of implementing RM. Based on the experience of the Internal Quality Assurance Agency (BPI) of Universitas Negeri Surabaya, a *knowledge-sharing* activity was conducted to enhance RM maturity at UNISLA. The aim of this program is to improve the partner’s ability and skills in applying RM effectively. The PKM program began in March 2025 and was carried out in four stages: preparation, material presentation, training and mentoring on risk identification, and evaluation. The activities took place from May 15 to September 26, 2025, involving 12 members of UNISLA’s quality assurance team. The results showed a significant improvement in RM understanding (p<0.001), with the average score increasing from 45.70 to 69.60. Participants were also able to complete the risk register, develop an organizational structure, and draft RM guidelines. Participants responded positively to the mentoring activities. The PKM outputs include an activity video, online media publication, intellectual property rights (IPR), a memorandum of understanding (MoU), and an article submitted to an international reputable journal. Abstract

The current challenge is requiring teachers to be able to implement authentic assessments that support in-depth learning. One of the tools in this implementation is assessment. The problem is that the partner, the MGMP Science Teachers of MTs in Tuban Regency, is not yet accustomed to implementing authentic assessments that support in-depth learning and therefore requires training and mentoring. Based on this, training and mentoring are needed to implement assessments that support in-depth learning. Through this activity, it is hoped that partners can improve their skills in implementing authentic assessments that support in-depth learning. The implementation method is divided into four stages, namely preparation, material presentation, training and mentoring, and evaluation. Participants in this PKM activity were 67 MTs science teachers in Tuban Regency. The results of the mentoring and training showed that (1) there was an increase in the PKM participants' understanding regarding authentic assessments based on pre- and post-test scores; (2) the level of skills of the training participants in planning and implementing authentic assessments was still lacking (thus, more intensive mentoring for participants regarding planning and implementing authentic assessments was needed); and (3) the training participants showed a positive response to the PKM activity.

Abstract

Putra Harapan Special Needs School in Waru, Sidoarjo, is a special needs school that provides education for students with disabilities or exceptional intelligence, either inclusively (joining a regular school) or as a special education unit. Several obstacles exist in the implementation of education, particularly in the teaching of science subjects. The physical, emotional, mental, or social limitations of students with special needs, coupled with the supporting infrastructure, often cannot optimally support science learning. These problems result in low attitudes and motivation to learn science among students with disabilities. The goal of the PKM program is to explore cross-level project methods suitable for students with disabilities to improve low attitudes and motivation to learn science. This is crucial to accommodate the learning needs of students with disabilities at both the individual and school level. Furthermore, specifically related to science material, learning this material requires a longer time compared to basic skills such as measurement and observation. In other words, cross-project learning has the benefit of time efficiency without minimizing the learning experience of students with disabilities. The novelty of this project is the collaboration between students with disabilities at different levels when completing science projects. Furthermore, the learning process, connected to the UDL concept, is an example of disability-friendly learning while still teaching critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The topic chosen in this cross-level science learning project is “My Telang My Expression”, where at the elementary school level, students are taught to recognize the parts of the telang tree, at the junior high school level, students are taught to cultivate telang and at the senior high school level, students are taught to make ecoprint bags from telang flowers. Through this program, there has been an increase in the quality of science learning which is reflected in the increase in attitudes and motivation to learn science thus improving science learning outcomes. In addition, there has been an increase in student learning outcomes at each level and an increase in teacher creativity in presenting learning materials. In this Abdimas Research scheme, a number of data will be produced as a representation of the program, which is also the research data that underlies the production of this cross-level project method.
