Abstract

Siluang Tanjuang Gadang Village faces economic challenges due to limited utilization of agricultural and fisheries resources, including abandoned fish ponds. Internet of Things (IoT) technology with Smart Aquaponics systems offers innovative solutions to increase efficiency and inconvenience. The system combines fish and plant cultivation with real-time monitoring, enabling resource optimization and increased productivity. This service activity aims to increase the efficiency and productivity of IoT-based fish and plant cultivation, as well as increasing community income through modern technology. The program is carried out through four stages: planning, preparation, implementation and evaluation. Activities include installation of the Smart Aquaponics system, community training, and monitoring the use of IoT technology. The results obtained were that the installation of devices on IoT-based Smart Aquaponics tools, such as temperature and humidity sensors, was successful. Training increases the technical capacity of communities, while real-time monitoring helps optimize cultivation conditions. This system increases productivity and operational efficiency, with the potential to increase people's income. The implementation of the IoT-based Smart Aquaponics system in Siluang Tanjuang Gadang Village shows success in optimizing local resources. This technology can increase agricultural and fisheries productivity, as well as encourage economic benefits for village communities.

Abstract

Niskolen Hamlet, Tuapanaf Village is one of the hamlets in Takari District, Kupang Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province that does not yet have access to electricity from the PLN network. Its residents work as farmers and ranchers but have not been able to meet their electricity needs independently. This activity is an initial step to reveal the benefits of installing a hybrid power plant (solar PV - Diesel generator) on the rural electrification ratio. The method used in this activity is the application of a hybrid power plant (solar PV - Diesel generator) in several homes of residents categorized as underprivileged families. The results obtained from this community service activity are that the existence of a hybrid power plant has helped underprivileged families to obtain electricity so that it is hoped that it can encourage development and economic growth which can ultimately improve the welfare of residents. In addition, with the availability of electricity, it will increase opportunities for reading and learning, improve health, and have a good influence on family planning (because at night it can be filled with social activities, and make it easier and faster for residents to obtain information from electronic media) and can increase the confidence of residents so that it can open the way for the development of various innovations and village entrepreneurship.

Abstract

Seaweed is one of Tanjung Bele's potential resources, but the macroalgae have not been able to improve the community's economy. This is because seaweed is only sold as dried seaweed. Lack of community knowledge and skills means that seaweed cannot be processed into products with economic value. Therefore, the purpose of this program is to improve the knowledge and skills of the Tanjung Bele community in diversifying seaweed into products with high economic value. This program is carried out in Tanjung Bele Hamlet, Olat Rawa Village, Moyo Hilir District, Sumbawa, West Nusa Tenggara. The target community is the wives of fishermen. The number of people involved in this program is 10 people who are members of the Ai Manis group. The methods used in this activity are counseling, training with active participation methods, evaluation of results using the pretest-posttest method and observation of partner products. This program starts with coordination, continues with counseling and training and ends with evaluation activities. Jelly and seaweed chips are two products made by fishermen's wives. The results of the pretest and posttest showed that most of the target community did not understand the material related to seaweed diversification. This is because most of the community are elementary school graduates and some others have not graduated from elementary school. There are two products produced by partners, namely jelly and seaweed chips.

Abstract

Although there are a number of regulations that regulate and guarantee human rights to a good and healthy environment, in reality there are still those who live in unhealthy environments such as those experienced by scavengers who live temporarily in tents set up along the Final Processing Site (TPA) and the community living in the RT 01/RW 01 area of Alak Village, Alak District, Kupang City. In carrying out their activities, the community and scavengers wear simple equipment, such as hats, glasses and used shoes and head coverings to avoid heat and dust. Only a few still care about wearing masks and face coverings when carrying out scavenging and managing waste. The results obtained by the community and scavengers are certainly not comparable to the risks or negative impacts that can be caused to health. This activity is motivated by several problems, namely the lack of knowledge and understanding of partners or target communities regarding regulations in the field of environment and health, the lack of knowledge and understanding of partners regarding the negative impacts that can be caused. Therefore, this community service activity aims to provide knowledge and understanding to partners regarding regulations in the field of environment and health, provide knowledge and understanding to partners regarding the negative impacts that can be caused to health. The implementation method consists of observation and problem identification activities, counseling activities, and evaluation. Through counseling activities, partners gain knowledge and understanding of the importance of a good and healthy environment. Furthermore, based on the evaluation results, it is known that this community service activity is running well and satisfactorily, namely by increasing legal awareness for partners

Abstract

Poverty is one of the problems faced by almost all regions in Indonesia. The concept of poverty relates to the estimated amount of income and the estimated amount of needs, especially needs related to basic needs or minimum basic needs so that a person can be said to live a decent life. This is often referred to as the concept of absolute poverty. Poverty is a person's inability to meet food needs. Based on data from the Central Java Province Village Information System, the population of Kedungweru village which falls into decile 1 to decile 4 is a number of 108 households classified as poor. The method of implementing this activity consists of providing socialization, discussion, training to the evaluation stage. It is hoped that several approaches at each stage will be able to increase the information and capabilities of partner farmer groups. The results of this activity include that partner farmer groups ultimately have knowledge related to management in managing longan farming, such as farming management, risk management and marketing management. Apart from that, future longan cultivation farming activities will have data recording related to the need for plant inputs and other supporting systems based on a system that is relatively easier and more efficient to manage in the future. In the end, this activity was able to make the partner group better at managing the longan cultivation business technically and also improve the economy of individual farmers and villages by increasing the longan seeds provided.

Abstract

Alzheimer’s disease is the most common form of dementia, characterized by progressive cognitive decline, affecting memory, thinking abilities, and behavior. Education about Alzheimer’s disease is crucial to raise awareness regarding early symptoms, risk factors, and appropriate management, especially among neurology clinic visitors who are at high risk. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of education about Alzheimer’s disease among visitors of the neurology clinics at the Provincial General Hospital of West Nusa Tenggara and Mataram University Hospital. Educational sessions were conducted at two locations: the Provincial General Hospital of West Nusa Tenggara and Mataram University Hospital. The sessions included visual presentations and Q&A sessions. The effectiveness of the education was assessed by comparing pre-test and post-test scores, which measured participants’ understanding of Alzheimer’s disease. The average post-test score at Mataram University Hospital increased to 88 from a pre-test score of 76. At the Provincial General Hospital of West Nusa Tenggara, the average post-test score increased to 72.3 from a pre-test score of 67.69. This improvement indicates that the educational sessions effectively enhanced participants’ understanding of Alzheimer’s disease. Educational sessions using presentations effectively increased the understanding of neurology clinic visitors regarding Alzheimer’s disease. There is a need for broader dissemination of information at various healthcare facilities to improve public awareness and promote early detection and better management of Alzheimer’s disease.
