Abstract

Improving the quality of graduates is currently a major challenge and obstacle for PKBM. Factors that prevent PKBMs from meeting graduate competency standards include cost, time, and human resources. To deal with this problem, we need ingenuity and measures to more effectively and efficiently improve the quality of management and increase the number of graduates. Therefore, the service team organized a workshop to provide effective management support to PKBM Nurul Huda: 1) Improve human resources capacity to manage PKBM; 2) Increase the effectiveness of PKBM management; and 3) Adapt the PKBM curriculum to her DUDIKA's needs. This service is implemented through workshops to improve the quality of graduates and support for curriculum development tailored to DUDIKA's needs. The workshop activities conducted at PKBM Nurul Huda were successful in improving teachers' and administrators' understanding of the graduate competency standards and their needs at DUDIKA. Furthermore, the curriculum, especially for the Package C program, was developed through the development of educational modules using situated learning methods and project-based learning, adapted to all available resources.

Abstract

Kertayasa Village is one of the Self-Help Villages which is located quite far from Ciamis Regency and Internet Access is Difficult, with Independent Campus activities in the Independent Learning Campus Independent Program where one of the programs is Thematic Real Work Lectures which are held for one semester. Kertayasa Village was chosen because the village ranking obtained needed to be upgraded to become an independent village, its location is quite far from Ciamis City so that internet access is very difficult, it is hoped that in the future Kertayasa Village will be able to increase its level to become a self-supporting village: its people will be able to use the internet to increase their sales. . This KKNT activity focuses on increasing the capabilities of MSMEs by using various online media. The method used is providing direct assistance with residents, especially teenagers who already have good digital marketing literacy competencies, to small businesses, starting from processing permits, product packaging, creating marketplaces and marketing methods using digital marketing concepts. Micro, small and medium enterprises in Kertayasa village. Several micro businesses already have Business Identification Numbers (NIB). as an identity and increase consumer trust, creating social media, including Instagram Business, Fan Pages, Professional Facebook, YouTube ads. For Micro Businesses that have many types of products aimed at markets such as Shopee and Tokopedia. Next, collaborate with the community, especially youth youth organizations, in disseminating product information through digital marketing concepts. Collaboration between the Faculty of Economics and Kertayasa Village through the creation of a Micro Business NIB, Digital Marketing Assistance is able to increase market size and citizen competency.

Abstract

Inovasi pembelajaran sangat penting bagi guru untuk memenuhi kebutuhan siswa yang terus berkembang. Dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris, penggunaan strategi dan aktivitas bervariasi dapat membantu memberikan input bahasa yang autentik kepada siswa. Teknologi dapat dimanfaatkan untuk mendukung hal ini. Namun, banyak guru Bahasa Inggris di Ambon yang masih memiliki keterbatasan dalam kreativitas dan penggunaan teknologi untuk menciptakan pembelajaran yang berdiferensiasi.  Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah untuk melatih guru Bahasa Inggris menciptakan materi ajar digital (audio visual) dari berbagai teks dan aktivitas yang dapat diintegrasi kedalam platform Quizziz untuk pembelajaran berdiferensiasi. Metode kegiatan berbentuk pelatihan yang dilakukan secara online, dan tatap muka di ruang kelas dimana peserta dibagi sesuai dengan tingakatan kelompok siswa yang mereka ajarkan. Kegiatan meliputi diskusi kelompok, presentasi hasil dan refleksi  manfaat kegiatan pelatihan ini. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan penggunaan sumber teknologi digital untuk mendukung pembelajaran bahasa Inggris yang berdiferensiasi sangat bermanfaat. Para peserta melaporkan pengalaman positif dan merasa lebih percaya diri dalam menciptakan berbagai bahan ajar autentik serta penilaian formatif yang dapat diintegrasikan ke dalam platform digital Quizizz. Mereka mengakui manfaat signifikan dari penggunaan Quizizz, seperti peningkatan keterlibatan siswa dan umpan balik yang cepat. Selain itu, peserta juga mengidentifikasi perlunya dukungan lebih lanjut dalam bentuk contoh rencana pembelajaran untuk penerapan yang lebih efektif di kelas. Kegiatan pelatihan ini menyimpulkan bahwa pemanfaatan teknologi digital dapat meningkatkan kemampuan guru menciptakan bahan ajar untuk pembelajaran berdiferensiasi.

Abstract

Mosso is one of the villange in Muara Tami District, Jayapura City, Papua Province and it is aslo  located in in the border between Indonesia and Papua New Guinea.  The economy activities to support the local people’s livelihhod living in  Mosso village is a tradisional  farmers and the majority of them are farmers with   subsistence  agriculture.  The development in Mosso village is face the challenge due to the capacity of local people and this issue leads to the limitation of economic activities .  Budidamber is a combination technique of cultivating fish and vegetables in one container and this technique is also environmentally friendly that is promoted to apply in Mosso village. Catfish is one of commodities that has a high demand among Indonesia People. The reason why catfish and vegetables because the maintenance is easy and simple. This community service is aim to enhance the capacity building of local people in Mosso in terms of skills and knowledge about Budidamber so it can be benefit to their economic activities in household level. This community service is also aim to motivate local people in Mosso to do a simple cultivating fish with the limited land. The community service is taken place in Mosso Village, Muara Tami District Jayapura City on September 2023. The method of this activities is socialization and demonstration the practical of Budidamber. The material of this activities is delivered by some lecturer from Faculty of Agriculture, Forestry and Marine Ottow Geissler University related to the development of Budidamber such as design method, assembly technique, feeding technique and nutrition which is contain in Catfish and Water Spinach.  After delivering the material, further training is carried out. It is started with an introduction to tools and materials. Budidamber is an effective system and can be implemented without requiring a large budget or capital. It is hoped that this activity can also increase community knowledge in utilizing empty land in the yard and increase food security with the Aquaponics system

Abstract

The community service presents the results of training in the development of the innovative learning media "SCoEP" (Smart Card of English Pronunciation) based on the mnemonic method to improve the English pronunciation skills of Vocational High School (SMK) students. Through a series of stages, ranging from needs analysis, media design, development training, to implementation and evaluation, the "SCoEP" learning media was successfully developed and implemented at SMKN 1 Purwokerto. The results of the training show that the training in developing the "SCoEP" media is effective in improving the English pronunciation skills of SMK students. This is indicated by an increase in the average score from the pre-test to the post-test by 27.38%. The "SCoEP" learning media, which integrates visual elements, phonetic transcripts, and technology through QR codes, has been proven to help students remember vocabulary pronunciation more easily. This training also fostered enthusiasm and student participation in the learning process. These findings imply that the "SCoEP" learning media can be an effective and innovative solution to improve English pronunciation skills in Vocational High Schools. This media can be a development model that can be applied more widely to improve the quality of English language learning in SMK schools.

Abstract

Salah satu upaya yang dilakukan oleh pemerintah Indonesia dalam upaya memulihkan kualitas pembelajaran di Indonesia pasca pandemi virus korona adalah dengan meluncurkan program Kurikulum Merdeka. Salah satu karakteristik dalam implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka ini adalah pembelajaran yang berpusat pada siswa. Model pembelajaran yang berpusat pada siswa diantaranya adalah model pembelajaran berbasis proyek dan pemecahan masalah. Terletak di Provinsi Sumatra Barat, Kabupaten Agam memilki kondisi geografis yang luas, berbukit, dan jauh dari kota. Hasil studi pendahuluan menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar guru memiliki pengetahuan yang terbatas mengenai model pembelajaran berbasis proyek dan pemecahan masalah. Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut, pihak sekolah, Dinas Pendidikan setempat, dan tim dosen dari Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ) mendampingi 50 guru bahasa Inggris SMP di Kabupaten Agam dalam merancang pembelajaran berbasis proyek dan pemecahan masalah. Bertempat di Kabupaten Agam, Sumatra Barat, tim pengabdi melaksanakan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat dalam bentuk workshop luring bertajuk penyusunan model pembelajaran berbasis proyek dan pemecahan masalah bagi guru-guru sekolah menengah pertama se-kabupaten Agam, Sumatra Barat. Kegiatan workshop tersebut diawali dengan pemaparan teori singkat terkait pembelajaran berbasis proyek dan pemecahan masalah. Lebih lanjut, para guru-guru tersebut diminta untuk membuat proyek sederhana terkait suatu topik pembelajaran tertentu kemudian memprsesentasikannya didepan peserta-peserta yang lain. Dengan komitmen Dinas Pendidikan Kabupaten Agam untuk mendukung pendanaan dan    memfasilitasi kerja sama dengan UNJ, penyelenggaraan program Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) secara tatap muka dapat dilaksanakan. Para guru-guru mata pelajaran Bahasa Inggris di Kabupaten Agam sangat antusias dalam melaksanakan kegiatan workshop ini. Melalui program ini, UNJ sebagai LPTK terkemuka dapat berkontribusi memulihkan kualitas pembelajaran di Kabupaten Agam pasca pandemi virus korona.

Abstract

In the field, most assistance provided to victims of the Mount Semeru eruption has taken the form of physical aid, such as basic necessities, cash, clothing, and construction materials. However, educational support, such as training and counseling, has been quite rare. Therefore, the craft training program conducted by the Community Service Institute (LPPM) of STAI YPBWI Surabaya is highly relevant for the eruption victims. This initiative serves as a bridge for the economic recovery of affected communities. This community service aims to implement craft training for Semeru eruption victims, enabling them to create economically valuable products and explore efforts for economic recovery among those impacted in Supiturang Village, Pronojiwo District, Lumajang. This project employs Participatory Action Research (PAR), actively involving the community in the training and skill development processes. Through PAR, the eruption victims do not merely serve as research objects but play an active role as subjects directly engaged in each stage, from needs identification and planning to program implementation. The craft training for Semeru eruption victims enhances participants’ knowledge and skills in creating marketable products. The economic impact is evident in participants' ability to independently produce and sell products, though marketing difficulties remain a significant challenge. The availability of basic materials supports the training, although a shortage of labor hinders large-scale production. Sustainable solutions involve business mentoring, strengthening marketing networks, and collaboration to support the workforce and fortify the local economic ecosystem. This training program not only imparts technical skills but also paves the way for sustainable economic recovery and the development of local potential post-disaster. Continued perseverance is needed to educate residents on marketing their products in local markets, schools, and tourist areas.

Abstract

Epileptic seizures have a significant negative impact on the lives of patients, especially those who frequently experience relapses due to low medication adherence. Epilepsy patients often face stigma and social discrimination. Misunderstandings and negative societal attitudes, influenced by myths surrounding epilepsy, can prevent patients from seeking treatment and living confidently. This community service activity aimed to provide information and education about epilepsy, covering topics from its definition to an in-depth discussion of myths and facts about the disease. The ultimate goal was to enhance the knowledge of patients, their families, and visitors at the neurology outpatient clinic of Mataram University Hospital. The activity was conducted through interactive counseling sessions using PowerPoint presentations. Participants completed a pre-test before the counseling session, followed by a question-and-answer discussion after the material was delivered, and concluded with a post-test. A total of 56 participants attended. Both pre-test and post-test consisted of five questions addressing basic knowledge about the definition of epilepsy, myths and facts, and appropriate actions when encountering an epileptic seizure. The average pre-test score was 68.57, while the average post-test score increased to 76.44 after the educational session and discussion. Effective communication, education, and information dissemination proved to be key solutions for improving participants' knowledge. These efforts are expected to help epilepsy patients avoid stigma, gain full support from family and their surroundings, ensure optimal treatment outcomes, and enable patients to live confidently. Effective education and communication are critical in improving understanding of epilepsy, reducing stigma, and fostering social support for epilepsy patients.

Abstract

The Papua Cendrawasih crown is a type of handicraft that was originally made from the feathers of living birds of paradise. The Papuan Bird of Paradise Crown has high cultural and aesthetic value, a symbol of natural beauty and is the identity of the Papuan people. Efforts to revitalize, preserve, and maintain a balance between appreciation of Papuan culture and protection of the existence of birds of paradise require strict policies and supervision to ensure that the making of the Papuan bird of paradise crown does not endanger the survival of the birds of paradise which are currently almost extinct and do not violate the laws governing the protection of wildlife. The main objective of the program, through the Revitalization of the Papuan Bird of Paradise Crown as a form of local wisdom at GKI Kasih Perumnas, is that young people have the ability to receive cultural traditions so that they do not become extinct, so that they are in demand again, by being processed into valuable and useful things. The methods used are First, socialization and Focus Group Discussion (FGD). Second, the training method for making Papuan bird of paradise crowns by imitation. Third, measuring the level of understanding of participants at the beginning and end of the activity, through the Pre-Test and Post-Test. The results obtained from this activity are, seen from the results of the higher post-test scores, namely 90% of youth participants mastered the material and stages of making Papuan bird of paradise crowns by imitation, compared to the pre-test conducted before the training where only 10% of youth already knew it. Youth are able to create jobs, increase economic income, encourage innovation and the development of local wisdom potential in the community, as well as revive, maintain traditions and cultures so that they do not become extinct, in the city of Sorong, Southwest Papua Province.

Abstract

Peraturan Desa, Peraturan Kepala Desa, dan Peraturan Bersama merupakan tiga perangkat hukum utama desa. Karena peraturan desa berfungsi sebagai landasan hukum untuk menyusun tata kelola pemerintahan desa, maka peraturan desa merupakan produk hukum yang paling tepat menggambarkan kemandirian desa di antara ketiganya. Peraturan Desa dimaksudkan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan masyarakat yang dinamis dan terus berubah, selain mengharuskan kepatuhan terhadap peraturan yang lebih ketat. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk membantu masyarakat Noelbaki lebih menghargai nilai partisipasi mereka dalam pembuatan undang-undang desa sehingga peraturan akhir lebih sesuai dengan kebutuhan mereka. Metode yang diterapkan dalam sosialisasi ini meliputi interaksi langsung, ceramah, serta diskusi atau dialog mendalam mengenai materi yang telah disampaikan. Selama sosialisasi, peserta menunjukkan antusiasme tinggi dengan aktif mengajukan pertanyaan kepada narasumber terkait materi yang mereka terima. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pemahaman masyarakat terhadap proses pembuatan peraturan desa sesuai dengan Undang-Undang Nomor 6 Tahun 2014. Sebagai hasilnya, masyarakat lebih nyaman menyuarakan tujuan mereka dan memahami betapa pentingnya konsensus saat membuat peraturan desa. Masyarakat kini lebih sadar akan hak dan kewajiban mereka untuk ikut aktif dalam pembangunan desa, melalui materi yang disampaikan, seperti pembentukan peraturan desa sesuai Undang-Undang Nomor 6 Tahun 2014, peran serta dalam musyawarah desa, dan pentingnya kolaborasi antara pemerintah desa dan warga. Keterlibatan masyarakat dalam membuat peraturan desa meningkat sebagai hasil sosialisasi ini, tetapi kerja lanjutan masih diperlukan untuk menjamin keberlanjutan hasilnya.
