Abstract

Sumenep Regency is one of the contributors to seaweed production in Indonesia and is classified as a Minapolitan location. One of the seaweed producing districts is Aeng Dake Village, Bluto District. The problem that arises for both partners is that there is no food safety system, namely a sanitation and hygiene system. Both partners still produce processed products on a small scale and are not yet standardized in the field of food safety. This problem means that the product cannot compete with other products that have implemented food safety. The second problem is that in producing processed products, partners cannot determine the shelf life. The problem of the food safety system, namely sanitation and hygiene, can be solved by providing training on the concept of sanitation and hygiene including theory and practical application in the production process flow. The problem of determining shelf life can be solved by training in determining shelf life including theory and practice that can predict product shelf life. The practice of implementing hygiene sanitation and determining shelf life was given to the processing group by providing theory and simulations of the application of the material in the process of making noodle products, crackers, juice and seaweed sticks. Training provides skills in analyzing and determining the shelf life of products independently.

Abstract

Fish farming technology is progressively advancing in the techniques utilized and the rearing media. A tarpaulin tank is reasonably simple and inexpensive. Therefore, it is suitable for those seeking to cultivate fish with constrained land and financial resources. This project aims to train the stakeholders - in this case, members of the "Mula Mele Bersih" farmer group - to construct tarpaulin ponds that can be used to cultivate tilapia using the recirculation-biofloc system. This training involved 12 farmer group members in Gondang Village, Gangga District, North Lombok Regency. This community service activity began with socialization, counseling, materials and equipment provision, tarpaulin pond assembly, water installations, aeration installations, and pond trials. The materials used were tarpaulin, 6 mm wire mesh, aeration hoses, water hoses, air diffusers, tarpaulin, various sizes of pipe, and water taps. The equipment needed was a hot gun, cutting tools, and a drill. The training was carried out accompanied by a demonstration. This activity produced 5 tarpaulin ponds that were ready for tilapia cultivation using the recirculation-biofloc system. The activity began with making the pond base, assembling the frame, installing the tarpaulin and tarpaulin protectors, installing aeration, and making a sedimentation place. The fact that partners successfully created ponds indicates that the pond is simple, easy to construct, and easy for other communities to replicate.

Abstract

TOEFL ITP merupakan salah satu tes Bahasa Inggris terstandarisasi untuk menguji kecakapan Bahasa Inggris. Banyak institusi pendidikan menggunakan TOEFL ITP sebagai syarat kelulusan untuk program S1 dan S2. Selain itu, banyak lembaga pemberi beasiswa (salah satunya adalah LPDP), perusahaan multinasional, serta lembaga pemerintahan, mensyaratkan TOEFL ITP sebagai salah satu kriteria seleksi untuk mengukur kecakapan bahasa Inggris pelamar. Dilihat dari pentingnya tes ini, Program Studi Sastra Inggris UNY melakukan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PkM) yang bertujuan untuk mengenalkan dan memberikan pelatihan singkat TOEFL ITP kepada siswa SMP dan SMA SahabatQu Islamic Fullday School (SIFS), Sleman, DIY. PkM ini juga diharapkan mampu meningkatkan kesadaran siswa terhadap pentingnya bahasa Inggris dalam dunia akademik dan profesional serta membantu siswa dalam persiapan studi lanjut. Pada tahap persiapan, tim PKM melakukan analisis kebutuhan dan survei lapangan di sekolah SMP dan SMA SIFS. Pada tahap pengembangan, tim PKM membuat materi pelatihan TOEFL ITP serta soal yang pada tahap pelaksanaan diujikan kepada peserta pelatihan. Evaluasi akhir dilakukan melalui penyebaran angket. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa 58% peserta setuju pelatihan ini meningkatkan keterampilan mereka dalam mengerjakan TOEFL ITP dengan baik. Persentase yang sama juga menyatakan bahwa materi yang diberikan jelas dan mudah dipahami. 52% peserta menyatakan sangat setuju untuk pelatihan lanjutan ke depannya. Evaluasi tersebut menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan ini dinilai sangat bermanfaat dalam memberikan pemahaman terhadap tes TOEFL ITP, dan peserta berharap untuk ada pelatihan berkelanjutan lainnya. Program ini secara keseluruhan berhasil meningkatkan kesadaran siswa terhadap pentingnya belajar bahasa Inggris, dan meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap format dan strategi pengerjaan TOEFL ITP.

Abstract

The production of fish sales in TTU Regency currently does not meet market demand and community needs. Along with the increasing public awareness to consume fish as the main nutrient, the demand for fish in TTU Regency is also getting higher. The problems that are often faced by cultivators are the slow production process and the business management process that is still carried out manually. Cultivators have to wait a long time to carry out the harvest, while buyers hope to get it in a short time. One of the fish that is most sought after by the public to meet daily needs is catfish. The community partnership program with the Tani Mandiri Fish Cultivation Group (POKDAKAN) aims to overcome challenges in the management of catfish farming feed through the application of Internet of Things (IoT) technology. This automated feeding system improves production efficiency with scheduled feeding and real-time feed stock monitoring, thereby reducing resource wastage and creating an ideal environment for catfish growth. The method of implementing the implementation of community partnership empowerment in the POKDAKAN Tani Mandiri group can be explained as follows where the group, the government (Sub-district Head, Village Head and Agricultural Extension Team), and the joint implementation team are involved in determining the type of activities and the implementation of activities in the field. Mentoring activities are carried out by the student support team (S-1) as a means of monitoring and evaluating activities as well as a means of improving student skills and debriefing before entering the world of work. The main activities include socialization, training in cultivation techniques, feed making, and the implementation of IoT technology in aquaculture ponds. The results of this service activity provide a significant footprint for partners where this Program increases productivity, time efficiency, and profitability in a sustainable manner, while making a positive contribution to the community around the University of Timor and the border area.

Abstract

The market demand for catfish for consumption is increasing, so it is necessary to increase its cultivation productivity. For this reason, an increase in the production of ready-to-stock seeds in the rearing ponds is carried out which can be achieved through improving the management of seeds, water, and feed. With the increase in production in Sukamandijaya Village, there are opportunities for expansion to a wider market, both nationally and for export. This can make Kampung Patin one of the leading centers in the freshwater fisheries industry in West Java. The purpose of this community service activities is to prepare human resources who are responsive to innovation progress and resilient in increasing the productivity of catfish cultivation, especially in the nursery segment. The activity was carried out from August to October 2024 with four stages, namely socialization and surveys, catfish nursery training, demonstrations and mentoring, and activity evaluation. The target of the activity was 30 members of the Fish Cultivation Group (Pokdakan) in Sukamandijaya Village, Ciasem, Subang, West Java. The catfish nursery revitalization activity has had a positive impact on farmers, especially in increasing knowledge and skills. Skills improvement includes the use of water quality measuring equipment, data recording and analysis, knowledge of water probiotics to improve water quality and feed probiotics to improve feed efficiency, and awareness of the importance of food safety through the introduction of herbal medicines for controlling fish diseases. Time constraints in training are a challenge in themselves, so they are carried out through monitoring activities and discussions via the internet so that farmers still get the guidance needed to apply the techniques that have been learned optimally.

Abstract

Manyar Sub-district, located in Gresik, is home to many fish and shrimp pond farmers. Vannamei shrimp farming is a particularly popular aquaculture activity in Tanggul Rejo Village, Manyar Sub-district. However, the shrimp and fish farming industries face challenges in production, primarily due to diseases arising from declining water quality. Many pond farmers lack knowledge about the importance of water quality management to support successful shrimp farming, highlighting the need for appropriate technology to improve production. This study aimed to apply probiotics to manage the water quality of vannamei shrimp rearing media in Manyar Sub-district. The activity was carried out in several stages, including identifying and mapping the problems faced by farmers, delivering educational materials about the use of probiotics in shrimp farming, providing assistance for probiotic application, and monitoring and evaluating the results. The findings showed that the application of probiotics to the rearing water media every two days resulted in low ammonia and nitrite levels, as well as adequate oxygen levels and pH, which are conducive to vannamei shrimp cultivation.

Abstract

Limited water sources in Semangga Jaya village result in superior horticultural commodities that cannot be optimised in the summer. Therefore, an innovation is needed in the form of drip irrigation to overcome the limited water conditions. The purpose of this activity is to design and build a drip irrigation network on agricultural land so that it can save and be efficient in using water during the dry season. The method used in this activity is to provide information to partners about drip irrigation, irrigation network design, irrigation network installation and the advantages of drip irrigation. Furthermore, training was conducted on the manufacture, installation and operation of drip irrigation in the field. The results of this service activity are in the form of a drip irrigation network design consisting of main pipes, divider pipes, lateral pipes, application tools and control systems. The construction of drip irrigation into three stages, namely coordination and survey of farmer groups, preparation of tools and materials, construction of drip irrigation networks. Socialisation activities were conducted to explain the water needs of horticultural crops, water conservation, and drip irrigation system technology. The practice of network operation begins with the introduction of the components of the main unit of the irrigation network, the introduction and practice of installing divider pipes/manifolds, installing application tools on divider pipes, and finally the operation of drip irrigation equipment. It can be concluded that the insemination of drip irrigation technology was enthusiastically welcomed by the farmers as evidenced by the activeness of farmers asking questions during socialisation and training, and farmers want to apply this technology to their fields.

Abstract

Tuberkulosis (TB) adalah penyakit menular serius yang menyumbang kematian tinggi di Indonesia. Kasus TB meningkat, khususnya di daerah padat seperti Tangerang. Rendahnya kesadaran, stigma, dan keterbatasan akses memperburuk kondisi.  Semakin tingginya jumlah penderita TBC disebabkan karena kurangnya kesadaran masyarakat dalam melakukan pengobatan TBC. Peran aktif puskesmas dan kader penting untuk eliminasi TB melalui deteksi dini dan pengobatan tepat.Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman pasien, kedasaran pasien akan pentingnya patuh dalam berobat, dan menjaring pasien yang mengalami Resistensi obat (RO). Kegiatan ini terdiri dari beberapa tahap diantaranya: 1) Kampanye dan edukasi TB, 2) Pendekatan psikologi, 3) Penjaringan TB dengan TB-ASIK: Sicepot, 4) Coaching dan mentoring Kader, dan 5) Pendekatan budaya keluarga & masyarakat. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan di wilayah kerja puskesmas Periuk Jaya, Tangerang. Hasil pengabdian masyarakat ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan, motivasi klien dan terjaringnya jumlah pasien TB yang terdiagnosis TB dan mangkir dari proses pengobatan. Pengabdian masyarakat ini perlu mendapat perhatian semua sector termasuk pemerintah, puskesmas, keluarga dan masyarakat untuk meningkatkan jumlah pasien yang terjaring sehingga dapat ditangani lebih dini untuk menekan adanya kasus TB. Kesimpulannya, integrasi edukasi, pendekatan psikologis, budaya, serta aplikasi SiCepot efektif meningkatkan pemahaman pasien dan kepatuhan berobat, sehingga mengurangi angka pasien TB yang mangkir selama proses pengobatan.

Abstract

The production of fisheries cultivation in Selayar Islands Regency has obstacles, including lack of technology, disease attacks, and not yet mastered marketing strategies and sales of production results. This is the background for implementing the integration of human resource development (HRD) and integrated appropriate marine aquatic organism cultivation technology in Selayar Islands Regency, South Sulawesi. This activity aims to increase human resources' capacity in aquatic organism cultivation through training and mentoring activities. The community service program consists of maritime development training through fish cultivation, hybrid public lectures on potential and challenges in mariculture, discussions on program sustainability/exploration of cooperation with the Fisheries Service and Regional Secretary, and visits and consultations on community ponds. Maritime development training through fish cultivation uses materials on container preparation, cultivation systems, feed and feeding, water quality management, and fish and shrimp health management. Public lectures on potential and challenges in mariculture are carried out using materials on fish cultivation in KJA, lobster cultivation, and marketing of mariculture products. The partner stakeholders include IPB, the Fisheries Service of Selayar Islands Regency, UNHAS (TP3 Selayar Study Program), fisheries extension workers (KKP), and fish farming groups.
