Abstract

Intensive aquaculture systems causing heavy reliance on the use of artificial feed (Heptarina et al., 2010). Feed is a crucial component to the success of shrimp farming (Soemardjati and Suriawan, 2006). According to Haryanto and Djajanegara (1993) lamtoro leaves contain protein, calcium and energy. The content of the leaves lamtoro a source of protein for feed ingredients in this plant are essential amino acids lysine and leucine were very high (D'Mello and Fraser, 1981). The consideration for the selection of feed materials should be done in accordance with the provisions of the feed material that is readily available, low cost, high nutrient content and do not compete with humans (Handajani et al., 2010). According to Matthew (1993), leucaena as forage quality has not been used optimally and not much commercialized. Lamtoro a potential biological resources to be used as feed to the waste generated sufficient forage nutritional value (Widiastuti, 2007). Research on the use of fermented flour substitution lamtoro leaf is a matter that needs to be done because of the use of fermented flour lamtoro leaf is expected to improve the quality of feed and make it as an alternative feed ingredient that can be given to increase aquaculture production. This research is the experimental method using a completely randomized design (CRD) with four treatments and five replications. The results of this study will be analyzed descriptively in the form of data and tables. Data obtained, processed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) to determine the effect of different treatments applied if real, then continued with Duncan's Multiple Range Test (Duncan's Multiple Range Test) with a 5% error rate to determine the best treatment. Keywords: Feed, Vaname Shrimp, Fermentation, Substitution, Leucaena Leaf, Protein Retention, Retention Energy.

Abstract

Spirulina platensis merupakan alga hijau biru yang mengandung biopigmen fi kosianin dan antioksidanyang bermanfaat bagi kesehatan. Produksi biopigmen dipengaruhi oleh nutrien dan umur kultur. Penelitianini bertujuan menentukan pengaruh media dan umur panen terhadap kandungan fi kosianin dan aktivitasantioksidan. Kultivasi S. platensis dilakukan di dalam laboratorium menggunakan media KT, MT, dan Walne.Ekstraksi fi kosianin dilakukan menggunakan pelarut akuades dan bufer fosfat. Kandungan fi kosianin S.platensis dalam media MT (10,07 mg/mL) tidak berbeda nyata dengan media Walne (7,49 mg/mL), tetapiberbeda nyata dengan media KT (0,71 mg/mL). Aktivitas antioksidan S. platensis pada ketiga media tidakberbeda nyata. Kandungan fi kosianin S. platensis pada hari ke-12 (10,42 mg/mL) berbeda nyata dengan harike-6 (2,70 mg/mL), hari ke-14 (8,14 mg/mL), dan hari ke-17 (3,09 mg/mL). Aktivitas antioksidan S. platensispada keempat umur panen tidak berbeda nyata.Kata kunci: antioksidan, fi kosianin, Spirulina platensis, waktu panen

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peranan L-Carnitine dalam pakan terhadap peningkatan perkembangan dan pertumbuhan larva udang galah Macrobrachium rosenbergii de Man. Metode yang digunakan adalah percobaan dengan  Rancangan Acak Lengkap. Perlakuan yang digunakan adalah dosis LCarnitine;a) 0 ppm (kontrol), b) 200 ppm, c) 400 ppm, d) 600 ppm, e) 800 ppm dan f) 1000 ppm. Masingmasing perlakuan diulang tiga kali. Parameter uji adalah Larval stage Index (LSI), pertumbuhan harian dan derajad kelangsungan hidup larva udang galah. Hasil penelitian menunjukan perbedaan yang sangat nyata (p< 0.01) diantara perlakuan. Dosis L-Carnitine 600 ppm dalam pakan menghasilkan LSI dan pertumbuhan harian larva udang galah tertinggi, masing-masing 10.4300 dan 0.4267 mm/hari. Derajad kelangsungan hidup larva tidak berbeda nyata (p > 0.05) antara perlakuan 0 ppm (30.4949%), 400 ppm (29.9139%) dan 600 ppm (29.0255%).Kata kunci: L-carnitine. Larval Stage Index, pertumbuhan harian, udang galah.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate effects of Spirulina phycocyanin on the total  blood cell count,phagocytic activity, and growth of humpback grouper fish, Cromileptes altivelis juvenil.  Fishes were fedwith a diet containing   0, 150, 250, 350 dan 450 mg  phycocyanin per kg diet for four weeks and eachtreatment was triplicates.  Initial body weight  of  grouper was  8.46 ± 0.22 g with a density of 10 fish per56 litre volume. The total count of  erythrocytes and leucocytes increased until the fourth week of rearingperiod. The highest of total erythrocyte and leucocytes were observed in fish treated with 150 mg phycocyaninper kg diet ( 13.17 x  105 cells/mm3 and 8.93 x 105 cells/mm3 respectively) which were not significantlydifferent (P>0.05) to those treated with 250 mg phycocyanin per kg diet. The total leucocytes and phagocyticactivity of fish fed diet containing  250 mg phycocyanin  per kg diet (8.49 x 105 cells/mm3 and 59.67%respectively) were significantly higher  (P <0.05) to those of control group. The highest of final weight(Wt=14.32 g) and weight growth (G=5.89g) and lowest of feed conversion ratio (FCR=1.13) were obtainedin fish treated with  250 mg phycocyanin per kg diet which were  significantly  higher  (P <0.05) than thosefed control diet. The data showed that  the addition of  phycocyanin 250 mg/kg diet enhances the totalleukocyte count, phagocytic activity and the growth of humpback grouper juvenil.

Abstract

Hot water extract of Spirulina platensis which is contain of lipopolysaccharide can be used as animmunostimulant. This study aimed to determine the effect of hot water extract of S. platensis throughinjection on the non-specific immune response of Osphronemusgouramy. The treatment was given throughintraperitoneal injection of hot water extract of S. platensis with doses of 1%, 10%, 20% and PBS, PhosphateBuffer Saline (control) 0.1 ml/fish. Fish reared in the aquarium (67 l volune) with density 12 fishes/aquarium with average weight of 7.5 – 8.5 g/fish. Blood samples of fish taken from the caudal vein on day0 (before administration of the extract), 3 and 5 days after administration of the extract for the measurementof total leucocytes, differential leucocytes and phagocytic activity. Results showed an increased in totalleucocytes, phagocytic activity, monocytes and neutrophils of fish that given hot water extract of S. platensis.The addition of hot water extract of S. platensis at 1% through injection gave total leucocytes, phagocyticactivity, monocytes and neutrophils on days 3 were 543.73 x 103sel/mm3,69.30%, 34.33% and 14%respectively higher and significantly different to control.

Abstract

Salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi tingkat produksi udang galah(Macrobrachium rosenbergii) adalah adanya serangan penyakit selain kebutuhan nutrisi yang optimum untuk pertumbuhannya.Lingkungan yang buruk, seperti adanya fluktuasi kualitas air yang ekstrim dapat mengakibatkan udang menjadi stresss dan mudah terserang penyakit.Gracilaria verrucosa merupakan rumput laut jenis alga merah yang dapat digunakan sebagai imunostimulan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh penambahan ekstrak Gracilaria verrucosa terhadap peningkatan total hemosit, tingkat kelangsungan hidup dan respon fisiologi udang galah setelah pemaparan suhu tinggi.Perlakuan yang diberikan adalah penambahan ekstrak Gracilaria pada pakan dengandosis 0%, 1%, 2%, 3% dan 4%. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Udang galah yang digunakan berukuran 7 cm dengan kepadatan 10 ekor per akuarium (40x30x30 cm). Pemberian ekstrak Gracilaria dilakukan selama 14 hari dan selanjutnya pada hari ke 15 di uji stresss suhu. Total hemosit tertinggi diperoleh pada perlakuan penambahan ekstrak Gracilaria 3% yaitu 38,49 x 106 sel/ml dibanding perlakuan lain dan berbeda nyata (P<0,05) terhadap kontrol. Kelangsungan hidup menunjukkan hasil yang tidak berbeda nyata (P>0,05), sementara respon fisiologi udang galah setelah uji stress menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan pada penambahan ekstrak Gracilaria menunjukkan respon makan baik dan berenang normal pada jam ke 18 sementara perlakuan kontrol pada jam ke 24 dan 30 pasca stress.

Abstract

Kalimantan Timur (Kaltim) merupakan daerah yang memiliki potensi kelautan dan perikanan prospektif.  Kabupaten Kutai Barat memiliki potensi perikanan berupa perairan umum yang besar untuk dikembangkan.  Konsumsi ikan dari tahun ke tahun mengalami peningkatan, sementara potensi perikanan belum dimanfaatkan dengan optimal.  Kendala dan permasalahan yang menjadi perhatian oleh kelompok mitra hingga saat ini adalah belum banyak petani pembudidaya ikan yang menguasai teknologi budidaya ikan dengan baik dan benar.  Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah penerapan dan transfer ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi (ipteks) serta keterampilan dalam aplikasi teknologi pemijahan dan pembenihan ikan melalui penyediaan benih ikan secara mandiri untuk peningkatan produksi ikan air tawar pada kelompok mitra,  Pendekatan metode kegiatan dilakukan melalui beberapa tahapan, yaitu pemetaan kondisi dan permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh kelompok mitra, penyampaian materi terkait  teknologi pembenihan ikan, teknologi penijahan dengan menggunakan teknologi induce spawning (TIS) ikan dalam budidaya ikan air tawar serta monitoring dan evaluasi serta pendampingan pada kelompok mitra.  Hasil kegiatan penijahan dengan TIS memberikan hasil bahwa induk ikan mas dan ikan lele yang disuntik dengan hormon (ovaprim) memijah seluruhnya. Suhu media air terukur 26-28oC.  TIS ini dapat membantu masyarakat dalam penyediaan benih ikan dengan menjaga kualitas benih tetap baik dengan menerapkan cara pembenihan yang baik.

Abstract

Water quality is a major factor in shrimp culture so maintenance that water quality system is the key factor of success of white shrimp culture. This research was conducted to determine the commercial probiotic on white shrimp (L. vannamei) culture media to decrease ammonia content and TOM. Research method used experimental testwithdifferent type of probiotic and giving periodic which are P0 (without probiotic). Probiotic A; P1 (3 days), P2 (5 days) and P3 (7 days). Probiotic B; P4 (3 days), P5 (5 days) and P6 (7 days). Probiotic C; P7 (3 days), P8 (5 days) and P9 (7 days).The results showed that probiotic bacteria influence the content of ammonia and total organic matter culture media of white shrimp. The lowest ammonia obtained in P4 (Probiotic B 3 days) is 0.05 mg/L and TOM is 53,72 mg/L in last week.The highest ammoniaand TOM in P0 (Control). All treatments with addition of probiotic give lowers ammonia in culture media. Survival Rate (SR) in P4 give significantly different results (P <0.05) to P0. Other water quality parameters measured during maintenance among other 27-30oC temperature, pH 7.0 to 7.9, Dissolved Oxygen (DO) from 3.1 to 7.6 mg/l and 15-19 ppt salinity.
