Abstract

In today's digital age, the use of computerized financial reporting systems has become an urgent need for MSMEs to be able to compete and survive in the long run. Therefore, intervention in the form of training and mentoring is needed, focusing on increasing the capacity of MSME actors in preparing technology-based financial reports. Based on initial interviews with the business owner, it was found that the financial record-keeping system is still done simply and is not structured, only recording sales on sales invoices. Sales and purchase transactions are only recorded manually on sales invoices without any periodic financial statements. The purpose of this Community Partnership Service activity is to apply accounting bookkeeping applications to record business transactions in order to generate accurate financial statements. The benefits of this service activity are to increase business competitiveness and sustainability. The implementation method for this activity includes several stages. The first stage of the service activity was for the service team to conduct interviews and discussions with the owner of the Asri Dewi MSME. The second stage was for the service team to provide material on simple bookkeeping that could be used by MSMEs. The third stage was for the service team to conduct simulations on recording financial statements. The fourth stage is monitoring and evaluation. The monitoring and evaluation results show that financial recording thru the computerized financial system has met the activity's objectives. The post-test results showed an average increase of 50% compared to the pre-test results, indicating an improvement in the partners' conceptual understanding of computerized financial systems, the functions of Microsoft Excel in financial record-keeping, and awareness of the importance of efficiency and accuracy in managing business finances. This reflects the success of the mentoring activities in improving digital financial literacy and competence at the knowledge level.

Abstract

This community service activity was conducted in Bausasran Village, focusing on assisting MSME members of the PKK in producing video content and editing using the CapCut application. The background of this program is the limited ability of MSMEs to create engaging visual content, even though video plays an essential role in improving product promotion and attractiveness on social media. The aim of this activity is to enhance partners’ skills in digital marketing management through mastering video shooting and editing techniques with CapCut. The method was carried out through a one-day intensive training consisting of hands-on product video creation, introduction to CapCut’s main features, and personalized mentoring for participants. The evaluation was conducted using pre- and post-training questionnaires to measure the improvement in participants’ knowledge and skills. The results show a significant improvement from 24 participants. The average pre-training score was 20.7, which increased to 38.7 in the post-training session, with an average improvement of 18 points or 159.3%. A total of 22 participants showed improvement, 2 participants remained the same, and none experienced a decrease. These findings indicate that the training effectively enhanced participants’ skills in managing video content for product promotion. The participants not only gained an understanding of the importance of digital marketing but also developed the ability to produce simple promotional videos ready for publication on social media. This mentoring activity proved effective in supporting the digital transformation of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) at the village level, while also strengthening their product marketing strategies through visual content.

Abstract

The Business Partner Profile of Ikan Salai Bengkulu is a home industry engaged in fish smoking, located in Kandang Limun, Muara Bangkahulu, Bengkulu, approximately ±1.3 km from the University of Bengkulu. The partner’s problems include production and marketing aspects; although it has potential, the partner faces several challenges that need to be addressed immediately. The partner produces smoked products with the flagship product being smoked fish; the use of a smoking cabinet maintains the quality of the smoked fish, and the partner has not yet used natural PKM to increase fish production. This PKM program aims to improve the production capacity and competitiveness of Bengkulu’s traditional smoked fish business through the application of appropriate technology, hygienic processing, and digital marketing strategies toward an educational industry. Methods include socialization, training, and direct practice. Activities include training with material or education on natural preservatives, raw material quality, and digital marketing. The activities continue with practical sessions including the preparation of smoked fish using gambier soaking as an innovative preservation method. Partners are also trained to use appropriate technological tools, including portable smoking cabinets and vacuum sealer loans for hygienic packaging. This service is expected not only to develop the group or business but also to become a model educational industry. This is because it starts with the education provided, the technological tools used, and produces functional products moving toward downstream industry. The partner’s products underwent proximate laboratory testing to support attractive packaging, showing carbohydrate content of 1.31%, protein 47.52%, and minerals 12.52%. Moisture content produced includes below 20% and above 20% according to orders. Then the color and texture results are good after applying natural preservatives such as gambier. The activities increased from only 10 kg to 20 kg that can be made in the smoking cabinet; the use of portable smoking cabinets makes it more hygienic, with even heat and maintained quality, and the implementation of digital marketing can expand sales and provide education.

Abstract

Water Hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) is a tropical aquatic plant known for its extremely rapid growth, often regarded as a water weed due to its negative impacts on aquatic ecosystems. Nevertheless, this plant possesses significant potential as a raw material for handicrafts with economic value. This community service program (PKM) was conducted in Bugel Village, Panjatan Sub-district, Kulon Progo Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta, with a dual purpose: to empower the local community by transforming water hyacinth into economically valuable craft products and, at the same time, to contribute to aquatic weed control. The primary target of the program was a group of housewives who had available time but were not yet engaged in productive activities, along with several active participants, including Hery Prazogie, Eko, Tolob, Susilo Edi, and Fauzi. The methods employed included program socialization, craft production training (covering drying techniques, material sorting, and weaving skills), basic business management training, as well as continuous mentoring and monitoring. The program was implemented over eight months, from January to August 2025. The results showed a significant improvement in participants’ skills. After three training sessions, most participants were already able to independently produce simple craft items. By the end of the program, more than 60 craft products had been successfully created, including bags, baskets, table mats, chairs, pencil holders, and various household accessories. Institutionally, the program led to the establishment of a small business group named Anyaman Bugel Mandiri “Independent Bugel Weaving”, serving as a collective platform for the community to develop creative economy-based enterprises. The program outputs also included scientific publications, promotional media (posters, features in local newspapers), and a documentary video, all of which strengthened the sustainability of the initiative. Overall, this activity demonstrates that water hyacinth once considered an environmental problem can be transformed into a new economic resource that supports the improvement of rural community welfare.

Abstract

The program purposed to enhance the capacity and independence of fishermen in processing marine products sustainably, healthily, and with added value. Through the application of natural preservation technology, marine products are processed using biopreservative materials derived from local aquatic agricultural resources, thereby extending shelf life without reducing nutritional quality. The program also emphasizes the integration of fisheries, aquatic agriculture, and nutritional aspects to produce high-quality food products and support food security in coastal communities. The implementation methods include socialization, training, production assistance, and evaluation of technology application. The outcomes demonstrate a transformation of the Raja Pulau fishermen’s group toward innovative, environmentally friendly, and market-oriented agroindustry. Significant improvements are reflected in product diversification, the development of functional products, and the group’s ability to produce alternatives beyond fresh fish. The use of ice as a preservative has also been substituted with natural alternatives such as gambier, carrageenan, torch ginger, and chitosan, which the community has learned to apply. These innovations not only improve fishermen’s knowledge and skills but also contribute to increased income. The products developed through this program have been marketed both within Bengkulu and beyond, providing tangible contributions to strengthening the blue economy based on local wisdom and supporting the vision of Golden Indonesia 2045

Abstract

Local commodity-based food MSMEs such as palm sugar have great potential to boost the village economy. However, the main challenges faced are product quality and food safety aspects that do not yet fully meet standards. This community service activity aims to increase the knowledge and understanding of members of the Nira Sari Murni Farmer Group regarding the application of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in palm sugar production. The methods used were socialization, training, and pre-test and post-test evaluations. A total of 30 participants took part in this activity. The evaluation results showed a significant increase in participants' understanding. In the pre-test, misperceptions regarding the storage of palm sugar and the dangers of consuming moldy palm sugar were still found (18.2% answered incorrectly). However, in the post-test, all participants (100%) answered all questions correctly. This shows that the training was effective in raising awareness of the importance of GMP in palm sugar production. The implementation of GMP is expected to improve product quality, food safety, and the competitiveness of palm sugar MSMEs in local and global markets. Before the mentoring, this group's palm sugar production process was rudimentary and did not fully comply with GMP standards. After mentoring on GMP implementation, several significant positive changes occurred.
