Abstract

This study investigates the potential long-term effects of the Think Talk Write (TTW) model on the social communication competence of primary school students. TTW, an inquiry-based learning approach emphasizing collaborative thinking, discussion, and written reflection, has shown promise in improving immediate communication skills. However, its long-term impact on social competence, encompassing active listening, effective communication strategies, and empathy, remains under-researched. This study employs a class action research design to investigate the long-term impact of Think Talk Write (TTW) on social communication competence in fifth-grade students at MI Al-Hidayah Pekanbaru, Indonesia. Two intact classes (n = 17 each) will participate: the TTW group, exposed to TTW throughout the study, and the control group, receiving standard pedagogy. Specific evaluation tools will be utilized to assess the students’ social communication competence. The findings could inform pedagogical decisions and contribute to a nuanced understanding of how active learning environments foster well-rounded individuals with strong communication skills. The study found that the TTW model had a positive impact on students' social communication competence. Specifically, students in the TTW group showed significant improvements in their ability to: Actively listen to others, Express empathy, Resolve conflict, and Collaborate effectively.

Abstract

Humans need the value of disciplined character in order for other positive character traits to emerge. Due to the high number of student actions that defy established disciplinary guidelines, it is crucial to reinforce the necessity of discipline in schools. This research aims to develop a Social Interaction Learning model in instilling discipline values in children. The research results are in the form of a social interaction learning model in instilling discipline values in children, namely: 1) The social interaction-based learning model is appropriate for instilling and improving the value of discipline in fourth grade elementary school children. 2) The social interaction-based learning model is significant and feasible in instilling discipline values in fourth grade students at Elementary School 3) An effective social interaction-based learning model for instilling the value of discipline in fourth grade elementary school children. Social Interaction could be one of the model to instill students dicipline.

Abstract

The problem in this research is that the learning outcomes of class II students at SDN Wonobodro 01 are still low in Mathematics on the topic of flat shapes. This is because the learning system provided by the teacher in class is less interesting, causing students to be less enthusiastic about participating in the learning provided. The aim of this research is to determine the increase in mathematics learning outcomes in flat shapes material using the picture and picture learning model for class II students in the first semester of SDN Wonobodro 01. The research method used is classroom action research (CAR) which is carried out in two cycles and every cycle consists of four stages, namely planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The research results showed that the picture and picture model was successful in improving student learning outcomes. This was shown by the results of the percentage of student completion in the pre-cycle of only 19.2% with an average class score of 53.1. Then, in cycle I it increased to 53.8% with an average class score of 64.8 and increased again in cycle II to 92.3% with an average class score of 90.7. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of the picture and picture model in the material for building mathematical data was successful because student learning outcomes increased each cycle.

Abstract

This research explores the critical role of student interaction in enhancing engagement and satisfaction in the context of Open and Distance Learning (ODL) at the Open University in Indonesia. Amidst the increasing adoption of digital education platforms, this study examines how dynamic and effective student interactions and engagement influence educational satisfaction outcomes in online environments. Using a quantitative approach, this study employed Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to analyse responses from 120 students who participated in online tutorial sessions. The findings reveal that student interaction significantly increases student satisfaction and engagement, with engagement serving as a mediating factor that improves the overall educational experience. This study confirms that high-quality interactions are essential for student engagement and satisfaction and emphasises the need for educational platforms that support strong interactive features and prompt instructor feedback. This research contributes to the literature by emphasising the important role of interaction and engagement in ODL settings and suggests practical implications for educational practitioners and policy makers. Enhancing interactive experiences in online learning can facilitate higher levels of student engagement and satisfaction, thereby supporting the formation of a competitive and adaptive golden generation in Indonesia's digital era.
