Abstract

Onion is one of the leading commodities in the agricultural sector in the province of North Sumatra, where the existence of breeder farmer groups is still minimal and requires development efforts in an effort to meet the needs of shallot seeds in North Sumatra Province. The lack of shallot breeder farmer groups indicates that shallot seed breeding is still not in great demand. This study aims to analyse the effect of production factors of land area, seeds, labour, fertilisers and pesticides on the production of shallot seed breeders and analyse the achievement of technical efficiency of shallot seed breeders in North Sumatra Province. This study uses cross section data of 45 sample farmers. Production function analysis using stochastic frontier production function and technical efficiency analysis. The results showed that the production factors of seeds, labour, fertilizers and pesticides had a significant positive effect on the production of shallot seed breeders, while the production factor of land had an insignificant negative effect on the production of shallot seed breeders and shallot seed breeding farms in North Sumatra Province had not yet reached the highest efficiency where the average technical efficiency was 0.8838, In terms of allocative efficiency, the use of production factors of seeds and fertilisers in shallot seed breeding farms in North Sumatra Province has not been efficient and in terms of economic efficiency, the production factors of seeds and fertilisers have not reached the level of economic efficiency.

Abstract

The added value of processing coffee beans into robusta coffee powder and using different packaging, namely labeled plastic packaging, and clear plastic packaging, will of course bring benefits to these entrepreneurs. Therefore, it is necessary to discussin more detail to find out the added value obtained by the robusta coffee powder processing business in the Bang Moel Kopi household industry. This study aims to determine the added value obtained from the processing of robusta coffee powder in the household industry of Bang Moel Kopi in producing coffee powder. In this study, the analysis used is the hayami analysis method. The results of the study show that the value-added ratio of label packaging robusta coffee powder is in a high value-added positionbecause it is >40%, while the value-added ratio of plastic packaging is in the value-added category while curry has a percentage of 15-40%.

Abstract

Tanaman gelinggang (Cassia alata L.) merupakan salah satu komoditas pertanian unggulan dari Kalimantan Selatan. Daun gelinggang (Cassia alata L.) mengandung senyawa fitokimia yaitu fenolik, flavonoid, saponin dan tannin yang dapat bersifat sebagai antibakteri. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui jenis pelarut terbaik dalam ekstraksi daun gelinggang ditinjau dari aktivitas antibakteri terhadap bakteri patogen dalam saluran pencernaan seperti Escherichia coli, Salmonella sp dan Staphylococcus aureus. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode eksperimen, dan rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 5 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Perlakuan dalam penelitian ini adalah : A = Tanpa AGP Sintetis dan Ekstrak Daun Gelinggang (Kontrol Negatif), B = AGP Sintetis (Kontrol Positif), C = Ekstrak Daun Gelinggang dengan Pelarut Air, D = Ekstrak Daun Gelinggang dengan Pelarut Etanol dan E = Ekstrak Daun Gelinggang dengan Pelarut Metanol. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah ekstrak daun gelinggang dengan pelarut aquades, etanol dan methanol mampu menghambat bakteri patogen saluran pencernaan unggas (Escherichia coli, Salmonella sp, Staphilococcus aureus). Kemampuan zona hambat ekstrak daun gelinggang dengan pelarut aquades, etanol dan metanol terhadap bakteri patogen saluran pencernaan unggas (Escherichia coli, Salmonella sp, Staphilococcus aureus) sama atau tidak berpengaruh nyata dengan kemampuan zona hambat AGP sintetis (kontrol positif), namun memberikan pengaruh yang berbeda sangat nyata dengan perlakuan tanpa AGP sintetis dan ekstrak daun gelinggang (Kontrol Negatif).

Abstract

The beef cattle industry plays a very important role in meeting the need for beef as one of the main sources of protein for the community. Post-production institutions for beef cattle include the entire system of organizations, institutions, and mechanisms involved in the processing, packaging, distribution, and marketing of beef products after the cattle are slaughtered. The importance of post- production institutions for beef cattle is also increasingly relevant with the increasing demand for beef, both in the domestic and international markets. The livestock products from RPH Dg Lalla include beef which is still the main product with the highest economic value. However, other parts such as bones, skin, offal, feet, and heads of cattle also contribute significantly to supporting the economy of livestock farmers and business actors. The use of all parts of the cattle, if managed properly, can provide great added value while reducing livestock waste. The flow of products starts from the collector as the provider of cattle, then sells the cattle at the RPH. The average cattle slaughter at RPH UD. Akbar Jaya is 20 per day depending on market demand. Then the RPH carries out its functions such as supervision and inspection of beef that is slaughtered every 02.00-05.00 in the morning. Furthermore, the beef is distributed by the butcher to consumers through retailers in traditional markets in Makassar City and processing traders to be processed such as meatballs, coto and others. The buyers of the processed beef products are the end consumers.

Abstract

Penelitiaan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh lama waktu pengeringan dan berapa tinggi penutup terpal yang terbaik menggunakan model penjemuran SIPERKASA terhadap mutu benih jagung (Zea mays L). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dari bulan Maret sampai Mei 2024 di UPTD BBP Barongan, Bantul, Yogyakarta kemudian dilanjutkan pengujian di Laboratorium Teknologi Benih Politeknik Pembangunan Pertanian Yogyakarta Magelang. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok Faktorial (RAKF) 2 faktor yang diulang sebanyak 3 kali. Faktor yang pertama adalah lama waktu pengeringan dan faktor kedua adalah tinggi penutup terpal. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) dengan taraf 5% dan 1%, apabila hasil penelitian menunjukkan berpengaruh nyata maka akan dilakukan uji lanjut menggunakan uji Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT) dengan taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan lama waktu pengeringan calon benih jagung tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap variabel kadar air, daya berkecambah, kecepatan tumbuh benih, dan indeks vigor benih dan berpengaruh nyata terhadap variabel susut bobot dan laju pengeringan sehingga diperoleh perlakuan terbaik dalam peningkatan mutu fisiologis benih jagung dengan pengeringan model SIPERKASA diperoleh pada perlakuan W2 (32 jam) yaitu dengan kadar air 11,82%, daya berkecambah 91,11%, kecepatan tumbuh benih 43,64%/etml, indeks vigor 90,11%, susut bobot pengeringan 9,19%, dan laju pengeringan 0,29%. Tinggi penutup terpal pengeringan calon benih jagung tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap semua variabel pengamatan sehingga diperoleh perlakuan terbaik dalam peningkatan mutu fisiologis benih jagung dengan pengeringan model SIPERKASA diperoleh pada perlauan T2 ( 110 cm) yaitu dengan kadar air 11,74%, daya berkecambah 92,67%, kecepatan tumbuh benih 44,46%/etml, indeks vigor 91,56%, susut bobot pengeringan 9,54%, dan laju pengeringan 0,31%.

Abstract

Animal husbandry in Indonesia is currently developing by utilising local genetics. Based on Government Regulation No. 68 of 2002, National Resilience is emphasised on self-reliance in food supply by utilising the potential of local resources. One of the native chickens developed is the KUB chicken. The advantages of KUB chickens are large egg production and rapid growth, low mortality rate, adaptation to a fast environment, more efficient feeding, more resistant to disease compared to other native chickens. The Industrial Work Practice activities were carried out for approximately one month from July to August 2024. The Industrial Practice activities were carried out at the Flores Bajawa College of Agriculture. The handling of KUB/ULU chicken DOC is quite different compared to the handling of native chickens, this can be seen in terms of feed, where the level of feed consumption required by KUB chickens is quite a lot besides the need for protein contained in the feed is also quite high, namely from 20-22% protein. The high need for protein aims to increase the strength of the shell and for the growth process of meat and feathers. In addition, in terms of DOC health, it is quite adequate, this is indicated by the routine administration of vaccines, medicines, vitamins and decomposers.

Abstract

The takokak fruit (Solanum torvum Sw.) is a wild plant and a member of the nightshade family that thrives in fertile, water-rich soils. Takokak fruit (Solanum torvum Sw.) contains flavonoid compounds that act as antioxidants. Consuming beverages rich in antioxidants can enhance the immune system and inhibit the onset of degenerative diseases, one source of which can be found in supplement drinks containing takokak fruit extract. This study aims to determine the antioxidant activity value (IC50) in supplement drinks with takokak fruit extract using the DPPH method through UV-Vis spectrophotometry, and to identify the concentration of the supplement drink most preferred by volunteers with additions of 6%, 8%, and 10% extract. The research was conducted experimentally, including sample collection, plant identification, preparation of simplicia, extraction, characterization tests of simplicia, preparation of formulations, evaluation tests of formulations, and tests for free radical scavenging activity. The results showed that the IC50 values of the supplement drink formulations with takokak fruit extract were 120.9875 ppm for F1, 99.7778 ppm for F2, and 82.0887 ppm for F3. The beverage formulations exhibited a green color characteristic, with a solution pH of 6.32-6.37, and demonstrated good stability during storage using cycling tests. The takokak fruit extract can be formulated as a supplement drink source of antioxidants, classified as moderate and strong, with the concentration most preferred by volunteers being F1 (6%).

Abstract

The aim of this research is to understand the various value chains that exist in the coffee business in and around the Central Lombok Tourism Area, especially in the northern part. Furthermore, this research also aims to determine the feasibility of organizing small farmers in organic coffee production groups in the tourism area and to determine the performance of coffee supply chain management. Analysis of market demand in the Northern Tourism Area of ​​Central Lombok in terms of the last two years obtained using secondary data from related institutions and primary data obtained from coffee producers in the tourism area. To find out the spread of the coffee business, semi-structured interviews were conducted at each coffee retailer. The function of each actor is carried out through structured interviews and observations. This research also relies on focus group discussions in each village with producers to understand market relationships and the difficulties faced. The research results show that the marketing chain ! considered more effective than channel II, then the actor who plays a very important role in the coffee supply chain is KWT Rinjani and supply chain management shows a figure of 25.88%, which means that the coffee classification is considered very good with an average SCMPI of 3.192.

Abstract

Tujuan yang ingin dicapai dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui Saluran Pemasaran yang ada pada Tembakau di Desa Selomukti Kecamatan Mlandingan Kabupaten Situbondo dan mengetahui efisiensi pemasaran tembakau di Desa Selomukti Kecamatan Mlandingan Kabupaten Situbondo. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat tiga saluran pemasaran usahatani tembakau di Desa Selomukti Kecamatan Mlandingan yaitu saluran pemasaran I yaitu: Petani → pedagang pengepul → konsumen; II yaitu: Petani → pedagang pengecer → konsumen; dan III yaitu: Petani → pedagang pengepul → pedagang pengecer →konsumen. Marjin pemasaran yang paling tinggi adalah pada tingkat pedagang pengepul dengan jumlah Rp. 14.000 per kg dan efisiensi pemasaran yang paling baik berdasarkan farmer’s share adalah tingkat pedagang pengecer dengan nilai 84,93%. Tingkat efisiensi pemasaran petani 2,09, pedagang pengepul 1,22 dan pedagang pengecer 1,12 lebih besar dari 1, hal tersebut berarti semua pelaku usahatani efisien

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kandungan nutrisi sisa makanan hotel dan restoran di Banjarmasin sebagai pakan ternak unggas. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) pola faktorial. Faktor A (Jenis Mikroorganisme) yaitu A1= Bacillus amyloliquefaciens, A2= Neurospora crassa, A3 = Saccharomyces cerevisiae dan Faktor B (Lama Fermentasi) yaitu B1= Lama fermentasi 5 hari, B2 = Lama fermentasi 7 hari dan B3 = Lama fermentasi 9 hari. Peubah yang diamati adalah kandungan energi metabolisme (kkal/kg), protein kasar (%), lemak kasar (%) dan serat kasar (%). Hasil penelitian ini antara jenis mikroorganisme dengan lama fermentasi menunjukan interaksi antara sangat nayata (P<0,01) terhadap kandungan energi metabolisme, namun tidak terjadi interaksi terhadap kandungan protein kasar, lemak kasar dan serat kasar. Dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan fermentasi sisa makanan restoran dan hotel di bajarmasin dengan Bacillus amyloliquefaciens pada lama fermentasi 7 hari diperoleh kandungan energi metabolisme 3.484,23 kkal/kg, protein kasar 21,41%, lemak kasar 7,69% dan serat kasar 5,90%. Kata kunci: hotel, nutrisi, peningkatan, restoran, sisa makanan,
