Abstract

This study aims to explore the effectiveness of the habit-formation and singing method in learning Arabic for early childhood at TK IT Bunayya 7. With a descriptive qualitative approach, this study observed the learning activities carried out by teachers and the interactions of children during the learning process. The habit-formation method was applied through repetition of simple vocabulary and phrases in daily activities, while the singing method was used to introduce vocabulary and sentence structures in a fun way. The results showed that the combination of these two methods succeeded in creating an interactive and fun learning atmosphere, increasing children's memory of Arabic vocabulary, and building their confidence in using the language. This study concluded that the application of the habituation and singing method was not only effective in language acquisition, but also supported children's psychological development, making it a learning model that is worthy of being applied in early childhood education.

Abstract

This study explores the role of parents in providing nutritious food to prevent stunting in early childhood. Stunting, a condition caused by chronic malnutrition, affects children's growth, cognitive development, and overall health. Using a literature review method, this research analyzes findings from various scholarly sources to examine parental involvement in ensuring a balanced diet. The results highlight that parents, especially mothers, play a crucial role as educators, facilitators, and role models in children's nutrition. Providing a balanced diet rich in carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, and minerals, as well as promoting healthy eating habits, is essential in preventing stunting. Additionally, parents should actively monitor children's growth through posyandu (community health services) and engage in nutrition education programs. The study concludes that strong parental awareness and commitment significantly contribute to reducing stunting rates. Future research should focus on effective interventions and policies to enhance parental participation in early childhood nutrition.

Abstract

The implementation of Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) in early childhood education environments plays a strategic role in shaping healthy habits from an early age. This study aims to describe the implementation of PHBS at Al-Ikhwan Kindergarten, analyze the role of teachers and the surrounding environment, and identify the factors that influence its success. A descriptive qualitative approach was used, with data collected through in-depth interviews and direct observation. The findings show that PHBS has been implemented through habits such as personal hygiene, environmental cleanliness, healthy eating patterns, and light physical activities. Educators play a central role in fostering these habits by integrating health values into fun and participatory teaching methods. Additionally, support from parents, school policies, and adequate facilities serve as key factors in creating a conducive environment for establishing healthy behavior. Therefore, the implementation of PHBS from an early age requires not only active and creative teachers but also the involvement of all stakeholders in building a sustainable culture of healthy living.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the cognitive ability of 4–5-year-old children in recognizing numerical symbols through the use of number ball educational play tools (APE) at Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal Kindergarten for the 2024/2025 academic year. The background of this research lies in the low cognitive achievement at the early preoperational stage, where children require meaningful and concrete stimulation appropriate to their developmental level. This study is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles using the Kemmis & McTaggart model. The subjects were 15 Group A children. Instruments used included observation sheets and documentation. Pre-cycle results showed that only 26.7% of the children were in the "Developing as Expected" (BSH) category, with none in the "Very Well Developed" (BSB) category. After the first cycle, the percentage increased to 53.3% (BSH+BSB), and in the second cycle reached 80%, with 6 children (40%) in the BSB category and another 6 (40%) in BSH. These results indicate that the number ball media is effective in enhancing early childhood number symbol recognition skills. Therefore, concrete play-based learning such as number ball activities can enhance symbolic concept understanding and support the achievement of the zone of proximal development in accordance with Vygotsky's theory.

Abstract

Recognizing vowel letters is a fundamental component of early childhood literacy development. This study investigates the impact of the vocal bingo game on the ability of children aged 4–5 years to recognize vowel letters. The research was motivated by the low vowel recognition skills observed at TK Muslimat NU 79 Miftahul Huda. A quantitative approach was applied using a quasi-experimental Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The participants were divided into two groups—experimental and control—each comprising 15 children. An observation sheet, tested for validity and reliability, was used to assess vowel recognition. Data analysis included normality, homogeneity, and hypothesis testing using SPSS version 23. The results revealed a significance value of 0.031 (p<0.05), indicating a significant difference between the experimental and control groups. The posttest mean score of the experimental group (18.07) was higher than that of the control group (15.47). These findings suggest that the vocal bingo game is an effective instructional medium for enhancing early literacy skills in young children.
